--- Chapter 50 ---
As Red and his group return home, Shiro and Ryan make up a report on them.
Zetsu: So, master, what do you suppose we do with them.
Master:...
Master looks deep in thought and sighs.
Master: They're powerful. We can't risk the live ones getting away. And judging by the mechanic’s, even the dead ones are a risk.
Zetsu: So you're saying...
Master: Yes. Prepare the ritual of frost.
The group goes silent.
Zetsu: Yes sir.
The nine begin moving the live ones.
Luna: What's the ritual of frost?
Red+Hiro: Dunno.
Ame: … You will see.
The group is escorted through the halls of this winding maze of a guildhall. They begin descending steps to a large steel door.
Red: I've never even seen this place before.
The master puts his hand to the door. The red circle on his hand glows and a latching noise is heard. He opens the door, inside are rows upon rows of slightly raised platforms. On the platforms are steel rods with latches meant to keep someone in place. Some platforms instead have large hunks of Ice. Zetsu and Kogo set Nero up in the metal contraption. The master raises his right hand to him. The red circle glows and ripples around his hand and arm, leaving a tattoo-like symbol. It glows even brighter.
Master: Elune magic. Eternal prison of frost.
Ice starts to gather at his feet. It grows upward, getting bigger and bigger. Nero just laughs until he’s completely frozen over. Leaving a giant heap of ice.
Master: Next.
One after one, he uses this ancient spell made by the creator of Elune.
Bruin: Wait let's talk about this! GAHG.
Sunna: So cold… Brh hehe.
Eventually they are all frozen. He then guides them, carrying the dead bodies to a new door, to which he unlocks with his symbol. Almost like a morgue, it's freezing cold. They put the bodies on trays and slide them into steel containers. The master closes them, and locks them up with the symbol. A weird black marking crawls along the newly closed containers, as a seeming defense system. They leave this place closing and locking the doors behind them. And return to the surface layer of the hall.

Dungeon Core? Nah, I Think I'll Just Get Super-Wealthy Instead
The cycle is simple enough. A Dungeon Core is born from a wayward soul. It seeks power and agency, and works to accumulate wealth to fuel its power, in turn using this power to accumulate further wealth. Inevitably, the mind is lost as desperation and ambition drive it to commit darker and darker acts. Shortly thereafter, the adventurers arrive to quell the core. This is a tale that has repeated itself countless times throughout history: all cores desire power. And yet, this core seems to have it backwards. It doesn't want to rule the world. It has no desire to enslave or conquer. No, this core doesn't want to be a warlord, a villain, or a tyrant. It wants to start a core-poration. After all, when money is power, what greater weapon is there than capitalism? Join a dungeon core that wastes an absurd amount of time and effort trying not to be evil on his journey to earn fat stacks against all odds. -This is a 'Dungeon Core' type fiction with LitRPG elements in it. The start may be fairly slow compared to the average. Expect roughly 2.5k per chapter. -I'm only a hobbyist writer. As such, there may be the occasional error and pacing may be poorly-handled. Constructive criticism is alway welcome. I'm just here to write stuff that makes my brain release the g o o d c h e m i c a l s. -I am trashy and I like monsterpeople so you can expect an awful lot of those as we get further in. Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you enjoy.
