《Insignia》"The Phantom" Ch 107. Jarby vs. Jina

Announcer: Wow, in a stunning turn of events, Beast collapsed crying! I think that means the winner is Cari! Next up is Jarby from Zengoku and Jina who is from the mage association!
-Chapter 107-
The two approach each other, Jina wielding a gun and her anti-magic armor.
Announcer: Begin!
Jina lifts her gun and fires several shots. The bullets find their way to their target, as he didn’t even try to dodge. The bullets hit him, but drop before they pierce.
Jina: What the hell?!
Jarby: Is that all you got? I hope not for a finalist.
Jina: How did you just stop my anti-mage bullets.
Jarby: Anti-mage? I assume if that’s the case your bullets need to pierce the skin to take effect. However. My ability allows me to absorb kinetic energy, I dubbed this ability “Kinetic Steal”.
Fear washes over Jina’s face as she shoots again, to the same result. She puts her gun away and starts to rub her hands together.
Jina: You think you are the only one with kinetic abilities! Mine allows me to build up kinetic energy from friction and release it!
She bursts forward, using her ability to boost her speed. She goes to punch him, as he just stands there. Her punch swings in and he lifts his left arm, swatting it out of the air. Her whole body freezes up as all kinetic movement was stolen. He then sings with his left hand and slaps her with all the force he had stored up. The slap creates a loud clap, her eyes roll back in her head as she goes flying to the wall.
Announcer: Incredible! What a lucky match-up for Jarby!
Jarby: Lucky? Hmph, who gave this guy the announcer role.
Announcer: Uh, ouch man! Either way, next up we have Absko from Maskrah vs. Fang from Academy!

How to Save a Star [BxB]
“Do you know that stars die?” I asked, breaking the silence. I didn't know where the question came from, but that's the only thing that came to mind. “Yeah,” he answered. “And some stars we see in the sky may be already dead. But they're so far away that their afterglow can still be seen above. Some of them may seem glowing but they’re truly dead.” We all have a little gallery of photographic memories inside our hearts. An exhibit of things we could never forget through our short moments in time. Some were so good, we held it like they were the best part of our lives while some were things we desperately ran away from - they hunted us, and killed our hopes. The beginning of my life ended on my tenth birthday, the day when my childhood was stolen away from me. I longed to run away from that nightmare that held me tightly in my neck and made me helpless under its grasp. Going to college had become my final chance to run away. On my seventeenth birthday, after enrolling at a university, my life took another shift. I met a man who showed me the glimmer of hope I always wanted to see. And this was our story. A narration of first love, bittersweet and worthwhile. DISCLAIMER: This novella primarily contains gay romance. Read at your own risk.
