Chapter 50. Strong "No, I don't want you to kill them. I will be the one doing that with my own two hands." She had a determined look on her face. This was the only reason she was willing to continue living and I wasn't going to rob her of that. "Chris was my friend too, I can't just let you do everything yourself. So, I will help you get stronger, strong enough so that no one will take anything from you." "I don't have anything left that they could take, except my life." "So cherish it, do not let his sacrifice go to waste." After she calmed down and got herself together, we sent off Chris by burning his body. And somehow it was decided that every person that would die in this town would be burned. No one disturbed me or Chloe for the rest of the day, and we were given some space to deal without thoughts. It was a heavy day for us. The next morning the three kids gathered under a tree, not too far away from the camp. They were waiting for me but a guest was accompanying me today. "Please take care of me!" Chloe suddenly said out loud startling everyone. No one expected such a thing, not even me. "It's fine you don't have to do that, you're the same age as our teacher." "You are all stronger than me, I'm still level 13 while you all are much high leveled. Power is the thing that matters the most nowadays." "Lesson of the day, Money and Power are going to be the two things that will rule the world in a few years, months if we are able to communicate fast enough." I continued right after Chloe, you could see the chaos caused due to people acquiring this meager amount of power. And it was not going to change in the future. It was just going to get worse as it went on. "This week we will be going through the basics to let Chloe ease in and from the next week we will start with a fun activity. You all are going to love it." I grinned. The remaining day was spent letting Chloe settle in, getting her to familiarize herself with everyone. She was a sweet, cheerful girl and got together was Lucy real fast. And she was driven to her cause, I agree that revenge was not a good driving force but it was one of the most powerful forces present. She never shied away from asking any doubts, about how she felt will she used a skill, and it was informative for me too. I didn't exactly know how 'normal people' used skills. For them it was all based upon feeling, if they were desperate the skill would use more mana, and if they were just trying out the skill, the mana used would be the minimum amount needed. While for me it was a flood gate, that if it opened once, the gate would only close after there was nothing left to use. I was slowly learning that I was different from everyone else. And my species wasn't denying that. Skills that came under my blood mage class were hard to level up, they had weird conditions to activate which made it even harder to level up. And the skills weren't effective enough to be useful at this stage. Like the [Outer Blood Control] skill did not give me enough control to shape blood according to my dishes, the most I did was lift a puddle a couple of inches above the ground. And all my mana was gone. The inner control had a similar issue, stopping a small amount of blood at one spot for a few seconds and done. Not enough to fully exhaust my mana but also not useful at the same time. I had no chance to use [Bloodfield] at all, but blood activation fit right in. Using clot, recovery, and activation was like having a lesser regeneration skill. I had added a new exercise to my regular routine, and that was to study the runes that were present in my mind. I did not understand shit staring at them but I knew they had some deep meaning behind them. A concept, a truth, something but it was not something that I was capable of understanding. Still, I kept on doing that, I had an interest in runes and because Garry was busy I had to try learning them on my own. And those runes were the only thing I had. Not much happened this week, Chloe had successfully forged a perfect body and selected a rare class, it was related to dual wielding. I did see her trying to swing around two swords. The city would be scheduled to be ready to use by the day after tomorrow, but now was the time for a fun activity. It was time for exciting spars.

The Nomad: A Starforged ttrpg Playthrough
Life in The Forge is rarely fun, least of all when you've got an AI that wants to turn you over to the authorities, a stolen ship full of creepy cult shit, and you've pissed off the only guy in the Devil's Helix who doesn't want you dead through sheer incompetence. Unfortunately for Ash, worst courier in the helix, that's his day-to-day. When he gets offered an opportunity to get back into this boss's good graces (and finally get something decent to eat), Ash jumps at the chance, even if that means getting tangled back up with figures he'd rather leave in the past. This is a solo play log of Shawn Tomkin's ttrpg Starforged, as such, even I don't know what's going to happen next! Enjoy the ride!

Greene's Monthly Contest
most writers don't have enough recognition. most of them only win awards based on the general aspects of a story; genre or theme, judged by the same things, not appreciating the genius behind the chapters. same awards, same results.--and we disagree with that.
