Chapter 66. Fun
The rooms never changed when you moved to the next one, it was the same for this one. It felt a little bigger than the previous ones, but I wasn't sure about that.
[Kill a half-ascended Goblin General]
It was a general this time, a half-ascended beast. I expected a hobgoblin but then I remembered that it had awakened its royal bloodline or something. Looks like this was what happened to a normal goblin.
The monster that appeared before me was huge, taller than the chieftains. Bigger than the ant queen, a scar ran across its face. But its size was not the thing that surprised me.
It was the weapons that it used.
He had a great axe, a shield, and a bow on its back. It was a whole squad in itself, taking the role of a tank, warrior, and archer at the same time.
It roared and thumped its chest. I laughed seeing that, as it resembled a gorilla beating its chest. The general did not like that.
My weapons were already in my hand and I was ready for anything it did, my sense on overdrive. But the General was too fast even for my senses, as it simply disappeared.
Something entered my sphere, I did not know what it was but it was fast. I tried to dodge but couldn't fully avoid the attack, a deep cut was made on my waist.
The attack would have pierced through me if I had not dodged it.
I could not take this fight lightly, one step and I would be dead. There was nothing that informed us about death in this tower, would we be teleported right before the attack hit us, or maybe this was an illusion, or there was no saving.
Dying meant certain death.

I saw the monster a couple of meters away from its initial position, a bow in his hand and he was nocking another arrow.
I released [Bloodlust] and it flinched, releasing the arrow earlier than it was intended to. This one was easy to avoid and I dodged perfectly, the General was now a little wary.
It got a little slower but the difference was minuscule, [Focus] activated and time slowed down for me. It once again moved, but this time I could see where.
I saw the arrow, the path it would take, the spot it would strike.
Thirst was swung and it collided with the arrow, my arm shook, directly experiencing the force it carried. But that force was not enough to disable or stun me.
[Clot], [Blood Recover], and [Blood activation] kicked in and the cut on my waist healed at a pace visible to the eye.
I did not give the General another opportunity to attack as I used [Sprint]. Similar to him, I too disappeared and appeared right before him. My axe was already in motion, about to strike its calf.
It was ready and slightly shifted its leg, avoiding damage to any important muscle. It still bled, my attack drawing blood.
[Bloodfield] started doing its work.
The goblin hit back and blocked. We exchanged dozens of moves in mere seconds, both drawing the blood of our enemies. A minute passed and we stepped back at the same time.
My body had cuts but they were continuously healing. [Carnage] had also started providing me strength, and I used [Inner Blood Control] to increase my blood by just a little.
The Beast also lost blood, my nose keeping a track of its location and my eyes tracing the path it took. Blood covered the floor and it empowered me, making me stronger.

It once again dashed in but something unexpected happened. A small section of the blood spilled on the floor, moved ever so slow slightly and the General lost his balance.
[Outer Blood Control] had completed its job. I sprinted in and used [Cleave].
It protected its neck, making me switch my target to its arm, the one holding the great axe. The attack landed and sliced through, cutting the flesh and the bone.
The monster screeched and guttural sounds were heard in the room. It dashed back and held his shoulder, applying pressure trying to stop the severe bleeding.
All of my skills were working in harmony, every single one of them being used to the max.
The voices were quiet, it was only me and the Goblin General. It felt good, losing myself in pure exchange of skill and strength. I was fighting someone almost at my level, someone who could kill me if I made a single mistake.
'I love this.'
I slowly lost myself in the fight, the goblin wasn't affected much after losing an arm. It kept on fighting, it could only use the axe now, as using the shield would make him lose the little momentum he had while a bow needed two hands.
He did not have a healing skill or a combo as good as me, the longer it fought the weaker it got. Whereas in my case, most of the skills made me stronger the longer I fought.
The goblin did not fall for another trick and we fought on equal ground for fifteen minutes. But after that I slowly started to win, after 5 more minutes, it was having trouble blocking attacks.
And after another 5 minutes, Thorn pierced its heart.
Blood poured out of its mouth, and it fell. My sword slid out as the General fell on its back, and took his last breath. I felt my body reach a saturation level, as the life energy of a genuine Half-Ascended Beast entered me.
[Cleared the fourth floor.]
[Bonus: Earned a seat in the Assembly]
[Earned one point]
[Moving to the next floor in 12 hours]
I had no idea what this seat was or what this Assembly was, but seeing that it was given after clearing the fourth floor, everybody who did so should get one.
The point was also mysterious, I did not how it would be used. Will it become useful in the meeting or was it used for something else? Not many will be able to get this far.
'Chloe should, she is strong. If Arthur did not slack off these past few days, he should also be able to get one. But Luke and Lucy,' those two might not be able to.
I would be surprised if they did but the chances of that happening were low. It was early for them to fight a monster of this strength, alone on top of it.
I let my weapons absorb the blood of the General, and they sucked his body dry. They entered my body right after that, fulling assimilating the energy they took in.
I also let the thoughts regarding the Assembly leave as I had an important event waiting.

Epoch: An NPC's Tale
Epoch is a slow-burn LitRPG/Gamelit novel that tells the story of Luke, later named Lucius—a natural inhabitant of the game-like realm of Elyssia where thousands upon thousands of detached, virtually unkillable entities known as the Players were suddenly introduced right after the dusk of the magnificent Age of Heroes. Shortly after the Players arrived, the balance of power in Elyssia instantly shifted. Kingdoms fell, wars were waged, alliances between races were made, and Lucius, after ten years of training in captivity, found himself being used as a pawn in a prophecy that he had no intention to fulfill. With aspirations and desires of his own, Lucius must find a way to cautiously adapt to the drastic changes in the very foundations of the realm after being sent 300 years into a future that was forever altered by the outcome of the war that his captors had lost and the Players won in a victory that resounded throughout the ages, all for a terrible price. Author's Note As an avid fan of the LitRPG genre myself, I wrote this novel with character progression, heavy Gamelit elements, and some degree of world-building in mind. If you like these, please feel free to give this novel a try. Oh, and the MC is also an NPC, in a sense. And wait, isn't this also an isekai story? Well, it's all a bit complicated to explain here. Maybe you should start reading now?

Heroine? Yeah, no.
ISEKAI TITLE - It seems I've been reincarnated as a heroine in another world. Yeah, how about no? IMPORTANT NOTES - While the story is not allergic to wholesome moments, I would like you to understand that this is the story of a villain, not an anti-hero protagonist. Depression, psychopathy, dark themes, uncensored violence, horriffic suggestive themes; these are all a mainstay of the series. I would strongly advise anyone who wants to experience "Dr. Feelgood" to go look elsewhere. Summary - Kamiyama Nori is many things; a bully, a delinquent, gamer and fanatic of all things martial. What she is not however, is anyone's 'hero', and she will do everything she can to rid herself of that title, even if it means the deaths of many, many other people. Her jaded, manipulative and opportunistic nature, combined with a 'noble', divine birthright is bound to quake the hearts of any whom would dare to stand in her way, good and evil alike.
