PHASE 96 - SONG OF THE GODDESS

There are still a lot of Gate Guardians left to continue this fight, even though our leader just died. Gate Guardians will still battle to avenge our deceased Legionmaster, Sister Amanda Cryst.

“You will pay for this!” One of the Gate Guardian monks shouted. Then, all other Gate Guardians in different outfits and races unleashed projectile spells such as lightning missiles, ice balls, and wheels of flames.

All of it was caught by Aeternos, who never moved an inch. There were an explosion and a smoke, but when it faded, it revealed the all mighty platinum white knight, completely unaffected by the attack.

“!!!”

Several shadow arms emerged from its metallic head, and chased the Gate Guardians in the front lines! As soon as they got caught by the dark hands, their soul was crushed, leaving hundreds of bodies falling into the thick snow.

Heushac on his armor form, together with Drex and Benedict repelled those hands for us with their sword swings and mace smashes. Kristoff, Emily, and Ayano shot down some of the hands with their spell.

“These hands are quite troublesome! Don’t let them catch you!”

Good thing, the duration of the spell ended after a minute. All the hands disappeared, but it left soulless bodies on the ground. Gate Guardians around us seem lifeless like piles of dirty dolls.

This is a horrific sight…

I suddenly felt that my eyes are now woozy. Strength has finally left my body, and the only way I can stay standing up is to lean on my katana that was stabbed on the ground. I felt that the pain on my severed left arm is acting up!

“Rikkun!” Tiara shrieked as she assisted me to stand up.

“ is wearing off.” Amy has this worried glare on me. “Your body is in shock. Your adrenaline must have been the only way that you can still go on.”

Amy looked around her and witnessed the soulless corpses of our fellow Gate Guardians for the second time. Then she had this pitiful stare at me once again.

“...I can still fight.” I said as sweat ran down on the side of my face.

Amy has this doubted look on her face. She made a heavy sigh as she smiled.

“Guess I have no choice... !!!”

Now she’s back to being a goddess. “Everyone, protect me for a minute!” Lord Freya ordered as she kneeled into a praying position.

Looks like she has a plan!

Everyone felt a massive energy gathering around our praying goddess. No, it’s not just massive. It’s infinite. Light particles started to swirl around her as she closed her eyes and mumbled a soothing song.

“Oh heavens, I pray this song to you. Oh, love that I have come to.”

This song… I haven’t heard the lyrics before, but for some reason, the tone… It’s like…

“Thou shall offer thy heart to the Frozen Soul for you…”

“...Amy…”

Aeternos had his attention to us once again. He saw the pillar of light which was made of millions of golden particles. With his ice projection, Aeternos materialized a thick buster sword, ready to slash us all. But he’s mainly aiming for Freya. Whatever she’s doing, it gives a considerable threat to our overpowered enemy.

“Haaaaaah!”

Heushac, Drex, and Benedict charged recklessly, but Aeternos just walked in casually, completely ignoring the sword and mace attacks. Heushac went to Aeternos’ face, but Aeternos just slapped the crap out of his cheek to get him off his way.

“Gah!” As soon as Heushac fell to the snow, his was dispelled, making the exoskeleton suit revert back to a worn-out Key.

“!!!” Ayano cast with her fan.

“!!!” Kristoff unleashed a dark arrow.

“!!!” Emily stabbed her drilled tail.

But all those spells have no effect at all.

“!!!” Tiara bolted forward to make her dragon fist right hook, but it was effortlessly caught by the armored hand.

“!!!” Using my remaining strength, I unleashed my last spell. But my sword was parried by the enemy!

“ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!”

It was the deafening roar of Aeternos! There was a sonic wave that is strong enough to launch us all in the air!

"Gah!"

Now his path is cleared, nobody can stop him from slaughtering Freya!

“...Amy!!!” I cried. But without any remaining strength or even a left arm, I can’t even crawl to her side.

Aeternos raised his sword, ready to chop the praying goddess’s neck!

Suddenly, everything went white.

I felt something just in front of me shattered, as if an ice crystal was breaking. Images of the Frozen Soul infinitely singing entered my thoughts. Then, for some reason, enormous energy entered my veins.

Swooosh!

There were a deafening blast and a blinding flash! The pillar of light that surrounds Lord Freya burst, which launched Aeternos away!

Freya’s preparation is complete!

I can hear the goddess’s voice inside my head.

“Ric… Tiara… This is the goddess’s wish for you, and all these blessings shall be poured into your hearts. This is the salvation granted to me as the fragment of the Frozen Soul. Now, it’s up to you to defeat Aeternos!”

Limitless energy surged to our bodies. Golden particles formed on my severed arm and molded itself into a golden hand! With my restored limb and this amount of prana… I feel that I can do anything now!

Tiara is now covered in the bluish-white aura that projected nine transparent tails of light on her back! She also got a massive power boost too!

Tiara and I looked at each other, and we both nodded as if we have telepathy! Then, we both bolted forward at a speed of light!

We’re nothing but a lightning streak. We’re so fast that our enemy couldn’t even comprehend. I slash on the left, and Tiara will punch on the right, then we exchange position as I take the right and she strikes to the left. Our continuous attack made the light trails look like a colorful DNA strand.

“...IMPOSSIBLE…!!!”

That’s all Aeternos can mutter. His voice is now coated in fear as he realizes that his armor has been chipped off!

“Let’s finish this, Rikkun!”

“Right!”

“!!!”

Tiara’s fists glowed with a white aura that is shaped like dragon heads. In a Planck instant, she unleashed countless punches that are so fast that it was invisible to the naked eye. But according to my enhanced , she already made her 999th blow!

“This is the power of Necchan and mine!!!” Tiara shouted with all her might. “Haaaaaaaah!!!”

The moment Tiara released her swift 1000th punch, the armor was completely shattered. The man finally revealed his naked self, but for some reason, his face looks like a blur to me. All I can see on his face is his glowing crimson eyes.

“THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!” Aeternos cried.

“Tiara!” I shouted. The shrine maiden nodded in response.

I reached out my hand to her chest, and a golden dimensional portal opened. Silver wind spawned that swirled around my arm as I drew the invisible sword from the depths of her heart!

Images of the seven million timelines appeared before me. As I raised the ‘sword that does not exist’, rainbow lights formed which created a gargantuan tower of crystalized love.

“You will never be in the sequel!” I shouted with all my might. “!!!”

As I launched the sword like a javelin, blinding flash of light engulfed everything in the universe.
