SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP!! I CAN’T THINK!!!
I can’t think straight, I just can’t, as long as I follow Father’s orders, I’ll at least be successful…
That’s what Father would want, at least…
Now where was I? Was I anywhere? I guess I wasn’t, I better get started then.
I dash through the facility, I’ve decided to not waste my Mana where my Stamina would just as equally suffice- I think I can trust Lexis to watch over those Kids. He’s a Man, right? No wait, he was the Kid I had guiding me there, maybe I should go back. No wait, that’s right, I’ve got Squads everywhere, even if they tried to escape, there’s way too many to not be spotted by my Soldiers. So yeah, I think I did make the right call. I stop and turn around. Maybe on second thought- No, I turn around again, and continue as I was.
But then I stop again… Maybe I WAS wrong? No, I just wish they would shut up, why won’t they shut up?! After I dealt with that minor inconvenience I finally made it to the other holding area, and I bust through this Wall too. Just like with every other Wall, I have to blow more dust out of the way. A Small Orb floats out of my Forehead and into the air. It explodes and blows the dust out of my way.
All of the Children are just staring at me, eyes wide, completely terrified. Like everyone… Nice! It’ll make it easier.
“My Name is Arigold. I will be taking all of you away from Genesis Haven. Please gather your other Siblings and we’ll get going.” I say all of this calmly, and without raising my Voice. Gentlemanly. Nothing is happening, they’re all just… Staring at me, they’re confused, they all look at each other, and one of them walks up to me. It’s a Gray Cat Girl… “Um.. S-sir, wh-what did you say?” Oh… They didn’t hear me. Fuck.
We continue to stand here and stare at each other. Fuck, would it be awkward to talk now? Dad told me to not make things awkward, I mean, I really don’t know what it feels like, so I could never tell, but Dad still told me not to.
The Cat Girl is poking her fingers while looking around, as I just stare at Her, until She looks at me once more. “S-Sir? Are you there?” Oh right, this was happening, I keep getting too caught up in other things. “What is your Name?” I finally got something out, this should suffice. “Oh, I-I’m Vexalan-Genesis, what is your Name?” Shit, I didn’t expect her to ask for my Name. “Arigold. My name is Arigold. I need you to gather up all of your Siblings, I’m taking all of you with me.” Expertly done, completely straight forward, She should be able to handle this just fine.
Or so I thought, but the Girl’s eyes are wide ope-
SHUT UP! JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP!! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!!
-n and she’s beginning to sweat. “Wh-What? We’re leaving, just like that?” I see, this will take more than words. I stare Her in the eyes, she falls backwards, her skin begins to pale and She’s about to cry. “Yes. Move quickly, I have other stuff to do.” The Girl nods and struggles to stand up, so I grab her arm and lift her to her feet. She thanks me and runs off, informing her siblings of what’s going on. There’s something wrong though, they’re watching me, I think they’re scared of me. I don’t see why though, I don’t plan to kill you. Oh well, there’s nothing I can do about that.

After all of the Children are here, Vexalan runs back up to me. “I-I got everyone.” What was I doing again? Shit. I forgot, I would ask Vexalan here, but She doesn’t know… “U-Um, Mr. Arigold? Are you there?” Oh right, I’m doing this. “Yes. Tell everyone we’re going.” I’m not going to raise my Voice. I’m a Gentleman. The Girl turns around, and calls out to the other Children. “G-Guys, we’re going!” The other children look uncomfortable, but they start walking up. A Female Solar Dragon crawls on the back of the Wall, and heat builds in its mouth… “I know you’re there. Solar Dragon.” The Dragon is surprised, it seems she didn’t expect me to notice Her. “Come down, and fall in line.” The Dragon is getting angry, and it fires it’s Solar Breath at me. I equip Lixza’s Curse, and I activate it’s branches. The beginning of the Massive Segmented Needle expands in size and grows until it’s blocking everything.
The Dragon is STILL firing that beam… Vexalan is just staring at me and my Bushy Umbrella Shield thingy. It’s kinda’ hard to explain how it works. “Uh-Um, M-Mr. Arigold, what’s happening?” Oh yeah, you’re still here. “Your Sibling is firing their Solar Breath at me. Tell them to stop.” Vexalan nods and starts looking to the side, and notices that there is a lot of Heat Ray coming down, She turns her head back over to me, a look of death in her eyes. “Good luck.” That should help. Vexalan starts crying again. “P-Please, I’ll die!” Oh. I guess She isn’t as strong as I was thinking. “I’ll tell her to stop, then.” I hand Lixza’s Curse to Vexalan and ask her to hold it. “W-Wait, what?” It’s weird seeing this kid that’s one third of my height hold up Lixza’s Curse like that. She’s handling it well enough though. I walk around Lixza’s Shield, and I walk through the Solar Breath. I’ve made sure to cover myself in Magic Armor so my clothes don’t get destroyed. Everyone just watches as I walk through this laser from this Light Bulb.
I jump through the Laser and land next to the Dragon on the wall. I tear the Dragon off of the Wall, and land on her back. “If you continue to waste my time, I will kill you.” That should convince her to stop.
Just as expected, she rolls over, and starts firing at me again. “I told you otherwise.” She immediately stops and crawls away backwards, her fear completely overtaking her. “Good. Vexalan, bring me my Lance.” Vexalan awkwardly carries my weapon to me.
Now that I have my weapon, we should get going. “It’s time to go now, I’m taking everyone to the Evacuation Room.” I hold my hand out, and I blast and I fire a Concentrated Mana Blast into the wall, breaking the rest of it down.”There are more Children in the Evacuation Room waiting for all of you, so move as quickly as you can.” Vexalan conveys this to everyone. Why are you doing that? I just said it myself. They all nod, and the older children start picking up the younger children. Wait a minute. “Vexalan, is there a Puddle Kid in here?” Vexalan just tilts her head. “S-Sorry Mr. Arigold, but wh-what is a P-Puddle Kid?”

Well that’s too bad. At least I don’t have to feel bad about it, my brothers and sisters get angry at me all the time. “That’s too bad. Let’s get moving then.” I start running forward at Lex’s pace, and Vexalan keeps up easier than I thought She would. All of the other Children followed close behind us, and I followed the Line of Mana I layed as I was running down the corridors. Man, Mana makes this so much easier.
We’ve been running for a while now, the other Children are doing fine, but Vexalan seems to be getting tired. “You’re slowing down.” I inform of my dissatisfaction with her stamina, and she replies. “I-I’m sorry, I huff, I wasn’t born with very much Stamina, I’m really quick, but I can’t go on for too long.” Oh, that makes sense. Fine. I jump backwards, side step behind the Cat Girl, and pick her up. “I’ve already wasted enough time as it is, I won’t slow down for you.” Vexalan covers her face with her hat, and the other Children start giggling. “Th-Thank you, Mr. Arigold.”
Once we finally arrive at the other side of the Evacuation Room, I stop abruptly, and drop Vexalan. I see that all of the Children from the first Room are all accounted for. I turn around and see that all of the other Children are accounted for. Good.
All of the Children are staring at each other, they all look like they’ve met physical clones of each other. Once everyone is in the Room, I find a Leaver and pull it. The roof starts to open, and the floor raises. The wonders of Technology.
We’re finally at the top, and Squad 1 was here waiting for me. “Alright, it’s time to go everyone. Alimond, go tell the rest of the Squads to call off their parts of the attack, we’ve finished.” Alimond gives me a simple nod and walks away. Everyone seems ready, a bit shaken to see their own species in a different species. Everything seemed right, until I noticed the Male Dragon was sitting in the Corner. “Why is the Dragon not moving?” Lex walks up, his clothes still bloody. Oh right, that was from when I killed his Mother. I look around and notice everyone has that same look of death in their eyes. I wonder where that could have come from, oh well. “He’s sad over Mother, Mr. Arigold.” Oh, so that’s what it’s about. I don’t know why these Children can’t just ignore their feelings for a moment and stop wasting my time. “When will he be willing to?” Lex looks at the Dragon for a moment, then back at me. “He’s sad, he won’t be willing to get up for a week, or unless you find a way to make him.”
I see. All of the Children were born with a nonpermanent instinct to care about each other. The modified instinct will stay with the host, but it won’t be passed to the offspring.
Anyways, Lex screams in agony after I stabbed him with the end of Lixza’s Curse. The further down the blade you go, the less lethal it is, it still hurts, but this shouldn’t kill him. My subordinates look away, wincing from the high pitched screams of this Cat Boy. The moment the Dragon heard the screams, he stood up and looked over. Everyone’s horrified at this sight actually.
“C-Calvin, I’m sorry, I couldn’t-” The Cat boy coughs up Blood. Doesn’t he know that’s supposed to be inside of him? “He’ll- just listen to him Calvin- He doesn’t care, he’ll do anything to get his way…” There we go, now they’ll listen. Vexalan walks over to lex slowly, she’s surprisingly worried over someone she just met. That Bunny Girl friend of his on the other hand has fainted.
I take the end of Lixza out of Lex, and he speaks through his Pain. “I-I told you, Vexa, he’s a terrible, horrible, murderous man, he’d kill you the moment he felt like it!” Vexa is trying to hold him up, while he bleeds out…
I don’t know if I would say I’m bad, but I also don’t really have an opinion on that, since I don’t have the feelings to define whether I AM good or not. “You should be more careful with what you say, Lexis. And if anyone decides not to listen to me, I’ll either kill you, or I’ll hurt Lexis here.” Everyone nods with resignation, and I put my weapon away again.
“It’s already morning, I guess we should get moving.” I was about to start moving, until Celiba walked up. “Sir, I think it would be best to treat the Cat Boy’s wounds, you did just shish kabob him…” Oh right, I did do that, I guess it would be better to let him heal. “I see, we’ll do that then. I’ll be making sure the Children don’t run away, you prepare the camp.”
I turn around again, and I notice one of the Children making a break for it. I dash at full speed over, and appear behind Her. It’s a Butterfly Demihuman. I guess She didn’t fly because Her wings haven’t fully developed yet. I put her back into the Group. “If anyone steps off of this Platform without my Permission, I will kill them.” Vexalan and a Blitz Fairy finishes patching up Lex's wounds, and Vexalan starts purring while holding him. I wonder why she would do that.
I watch the Children converse with each other, they’re all talking with their gendered counterparts, I guess they just want to get to know each other. It’s weird how there aren't any hybrids, those are actually pretty common in some kingdoms. I guess they didn’t grow any.
I decide to turn around and sit down, looking at the scenery in the distance.

"I get the feeling this story might be one of those 'diamonds in the rough'. The premise is quite solid, there's plenty of room to flesh out the characters. It's quite easy to get into and be engaged by at the moment, imo. I don't know where the story will go from here, but it's off to a good start me thinks." - Xenower Attribution: The cave picture in the book cover is made by Stanislav Sedov and is licensed under CC-BY-SA-2.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/ This picture was modified from the original with an overlaid moon and sea picture to be found at https://www.flickr.com/photos/ssedov/26342569905 The photographer has no affiliation to Tschallacka nor can be held accountable for the use of this picture the way as it is here.
