《Reincarnation (Reverend Insanity Fan-Fic)》Ch 6 - Snatching Inheritance

After refining Liquor worm, Mo Bei took a short nap to recover his primeval essence and then started searching for the remants in Flower Monk's body.
He found exactly 15 primeval stones as he remembered. He planned on using these if the 20 stones he brought were not enough to fully refine the liquor worm. He quickly pocketed them adding the total stones he had to 17.
He then went to the wall and removed the pickaxe he had brought along with him from his bag. He was already fully prepared since he knew what he was going to encounter.
Mo Bei had good physique and with proper tools he was easily able to break the wall. Within a hour, the walls started crumbling and totally fell apart. What took Fang Yuan week to achieve in the novel was done by Mo Bei in hours. It was only because Mo Bei was willing to take the risks caused by sound coming from his continuous digging and that he had the proper tools.
There was a secret cave ahead. It went diagonally downwards and was very narrow. Mo Bei could only enter after bending his head to the height of his knees.
He already knew that the cave below was very safe due to the experiments conducted by Fang Yuan for measuring the safety of the route ahead was described in detail in the novel. Fang Yuan had even used a rabbit as a bait for it to go ahead and check for any traps in the novel.
Mo Bei went forward and came out through a widened gap. As he had expected, he saw a huge boulder blocking his path ahead when he came into this another secret room. Mo Bei's gaze directly fell on the ground below the huge boulder where there was wet soil which was darker in color and in contrast with the surrounding dry soil. Mo Bei immediately wore the gloves that he had prepared and started digging with his hands.

The wet soil was loose so he did not spend much effort. After digging for around an inch deeper, there was a peculiar fragrance rushing into Mo Bei's nostrils. He already knew what it was.
It was the Earth Treasury Flower Gu!
This Gu was used to preserve and protect other Gu worms. Inside the Earth Treasury Flower Gu was stored the White Boar Gu! Mo Bei quickly opened up the petals and removed the White Boar Gu.
"I finally have the White Boar Gu. This will be really helpful in my cultivation."
The White and Black Boar Gu were equally well-known, both being precious and rare Rank one Gu worms. Their market value was even greater than the Liquor worm.
The White Boar Gu can increase strength. The Flower Wine Monk set a giant rock to block the way, so he wanted his interitor to refine this Gu and with enough strength, push the giant rock away and continue forward. This was the first test.
Mo Bei picked up the White Boar Gu and quickly refined it since it already contained the will of Flower Wine Monk and was meant for his inheritor.
Mo Bei went back the way he came and reach outside the secret passage and the waterfall. He quickly covered up his tracks by erasing his footprints and hiding the place properly.
It was already morning and the academy lectures were about to start soon. He ran back home after changing the wet clothes with the ones he had brought in his bag.

"Where were you?" Gu Yue Mo Chen had a stern expression on his face.
"I was at the bamboo forest trying to adjust my mind after awakening. I wanted to experience cultivating outside to widen my experiences. I also had green bamboo wine to soothe my mind." Saying so, he removed a jar of wine from his leather bag to show that he was speaking the truth. He had already kept the wet clothes as well as Pickaxe and Gloves at the secret cave.

"Why wasn't I informed of this? "
"Sorry, Grandfather. Please let it go this time. I am working hard to improve my cultivation and become an elder and want to make our Mo family proud."
Listening to this, the expression on Gu Yue Mo Chen's face softened a bit.
"Come here. Let me inspect your aperture" he ordered Mo Bei.
Mo Bei had expected this. He had already hidden the White Boar Gu and Liquor Worm just after entering his home in his room before being called by his grandfather.
After being inspected by his Gu Yue Mo chen, he hurriedly left to attend the academy.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
