10 days later
On the grounds of the academy
Mo Bei had been given jealous looks and looks of respect by many people over the past few days. Many students came to him daily for asking advice about refining Gu. Many students were ashamed that even Fang Yuan had refined Gu earlier than them, especially Fang Zheng and Chi Chen.
"The Moonlight Gu is our Gu Yue clan's symbolic Gu.The majority of you on the field have chosen the Moonlight Gu as your vital Gu, so you must all watch properly. Soon I will demonstrate personally how to use the Moonlight Gu to attack."
Mo Bei and Fang Yuan looked on uninterestingly since both had enough experience with the moonlight gu. Mo Bei had further derived many of the uses from what he read in the novel.
After the demonstration, Elder said "All those of you who have refined the Moonlight Gu, step out. Each one of you shall take a grass puppet and follow the way I just did it, throwing out the moonblade, practice attacking."
Mo Bei was standing 2 blocks away away from Fang Yuan and focused his attention on use of Moonlight blade by Fang Yuan from the corner of his eyes.
Academy elder came to Mo Bei "How are you holding up? Are you able to shoot properly?" He knew that Mo Bei had previously trained using the Moonlight Gu at his home under the supervision of Gu Yue Mo Chen, hence he intentionally asked the question to check his progress.
"It's still a bit difficult to use it and I will find it difficult to shoot at grass puppet from such a long distance" Mo Bei replied succinctly.
Academy elder was satisfied with the answer. He asked Mo Bei to shoot a blade to see his capabilities.

Mo Bei did as asked and intentionally misfired the moonlight blade so that it does not hit the target. Although he had only been in this world for 20 days, it was easy for him to practice multiple times due to middle stage essence and huge amount of primeval stones. He easily mastered the use of Moonlight Gu. It was just like playing games with the joystick or mouse. He had to carefully adjust the position of his hand and properly shoot the blade. Even Gu Yue Mo Chen was surprised by his talents.
Mo Bei suddenly remembered a line from the novel
[ "After a Gu Master's reaches a profound level, they would understand a deep underlying principle. A Gu Master using Gu is not simply using the Gu as a tool, but rather, it is a way to understand the Great Dao that encompasses heaven and earth. Gu are the vessels that carry the law traces and fragments of the Great Dao and a Gu Master would in fact not cultivate Gu but cultivate the Great Dao. When Gu Masters refine Gu, they would be fusing laws and forming new laws. This is one reason why the hope for finding the law of immortality and becoming an eternal being still remains in the hearts of countless Gu Masters." ]
'I have to improve my attainment levels. Doing it slowly by trying to understand each and every thing about a particular path will take very long. I should find True Meanings or improve my attainment through Dream Realms. But that is something too far in the future.' Mo Bei was thinking of such thoughts.
Suddenly a moonblade flew out quickly, passing through the center of chaos, drawing a straight line in the air and cutting accurately into the neck area of a grass puppet.

The grass puppet wavered for a moment, the neck area cut deeply by the moonblade. But very quickly, the green grassy area that was cut began to regrow, tangling together and healing away the wound. It was a Rank one Scarecrow Gu.
"Wow, look at that crescent!"
"How cool, who threw it?"
Moonblades that were able to hit grass puppets right now were rare.
Everyone were looking at each other. Only Mo Bei knew that Fang Yuan was the one to throw the moonblade with such accuracy. He even reminded himself that if he were to face Fang Yuan in the future, it would not be the grass puppet but his own neck which would be sliced by the moonblade. Just the thought made him shiver.
The academy elder announced that there will be moonblade assessment in 3 days and winner would get 10 primeval stones. Mo Bei decisively gave up on competing for this one since he knew winning this might shun Fang Yuan's growth but he would have to face many troubles.
After some practice, Mo Bei went to the Gu room to buy a little light gu. He wanted to use this to improve the power of Moonlight Gu and practice with it. The clan had allowed students to take or buy gu worms from storage room once in a while.
Currently, Mo Bei had 4 Gu worms - Liquor Worm, White Boar Gu, Moonlight Gu and Little Light Gu.
Food required for Liquor worm was Green Bamboo wine which he had stored lots of at home. For White boar, it was pork, which he purchased frequently. For Moonlight gu and Little light gu, it was moon orchid flowers. He had purchased a whole lot of them through his family connections.

46 Year Old Syndrome
The daily Litrpg journal of a fairly average 46 year old man in a world where hundreds of thousands of people suddenly have a super power.Follow him as he learns skills, runs away a lot, suffers crippling headaches, avoids reading his titles, and tries to avoid breaking his body that didn't get enough calcium and vegetables.[Disclaimer 1: Despite the following, I will fix any typos pointed out. This is a writing exercise so chapters are mostly first drafts, otherwise I'd end up rewriting each chapter for a month or more with no real changes. My goals are a steady output by not using perfectionism as a procrastination method. I've already got laziness and additions to reading/games, I don't need a 3rd reason to procrastinate.][Disclaimer 2: The main character is a more normalized version of me, with 170% less laziness installed, and a few buffs like greater courage. Other things like having a job are partially similar. No other characters are based on real people because most people I know are either too normal to be useful or too fucked in the head to be believable.]
