《Freedom in the New World》The first day

“I would like to offer you a job working for my company?” Said Mr. Takahashi. “What job would that be…?” asked James his voice betraying his shock and awe. “Your father tells me you are a prodigy, with a master’s degree in programming. I would say pick the job you want.”
A single thought raced across James’ mind; he was about to speak then another thought came to him. “As you might suspect I want to work on Yggdrasil, but I also want to be able to play the game.”
“If you are going to be playing the game that limits the jobs that you will be able to take is that alright with you.” “Yes, that is fine, but I have a question, why me? There has to be dozens more people more qualified than me.” Said James.
“That may be true, but I don’t owe them a favor like I owe your father.” “A favor for what.” “Let’s not get into that now, would you like a job or not.” Takahashi asked, James replying without hesitation. “Absolutely!” “Great, my secretary will be in touch to help flush out the details.
The next thing James knew he was on a non-stop flight to Japan. The flight was rather boring. He had never been on a flight in either of his lives, but sitting in a seat for 14 hour was certainly not a pleasent experience.
James stepped off the plane in Japan and proceeded down the hallway making his way to bagage claims. With his suitcase on hand he looked around for a moment until he saw a taller asain man in a dark suit and shades holding a sign with his name on it. Next to him appeared to be several more bodyguards.

Standing in between them was the an asain woman shorter than himself, as he approached the body guards placed their hands on their holsters, the woman spoke as she step forward adn motioned for the guards to stand down.
"You must be Mr. James Earl Jones. Right this way sir." He recognized that voice as it turned out this was the secretar that had contacted him after Mr. Takahashi, his secretary.
Before he knew it they were in a limo driving down the highway. The windows of the limo did not roll down, he wouldn't have done so even if they could. Through the window he saw them passing by a desolate landscape. The sky was black, allowing hardly any sunlight to reach the ground.
After raising the issue of the environment, the secretary stated, “Mr. Takahashi has already made arrangements for you to live in a domed and gated community, where many of the other developers of Yggdrasil also live.” He was glad he would not have to worry much about the shitty environment, he remembered from the story, and the news.
He was driven to the place that would become his home for about the next decade. He could not see the dome until they were almost there. The thick black clouds that blocked out the sky also impeded his view of the building. “It is larger than 3x3 city blocks, taller than 20 story building at its apex, and it even has a park with a lake. The interior is heavily monitored to ensure a pleasent eviroment for living.”
He could not help but admire the beautiful the white dome was on his way through the gates when he could finally see the structure. Despite the terrible blankend air outside. It was about five in the morning when he was driven into the dome, only to be greeted by what appeared to be a sunrise.

He leaned forward until he was next to the driver admiring the sight. Then the secretary chimed in, “The interior of the dome is an artificial sky complete with day night cycle, and even stars. No expense was sparred to draw in the best to work for Mr. Takahashi.” The buildings were a mix of homes and modest apartment buildings.
Before he was even out of the car two of the bodyguards were out of the car taking his luggage into the house. He stepped out of the car in front of his sizeable new home, given a key and told, “Welcome to the neighborhood Mr. Jones.” The secretary stated extending her hand, “Please call me James.” He said while shaking her hand and when she looked him in the eye, he winked eliciting a blush and a smile.
“Well then James if you have any questions, here is my card, and my home is just around the corner.” Before she could turn away from him, “I’m sorry, it appears I was too lost in your beauty to ask for your name.” He spoke laying the charm on thick. With an even brighter blush and smile, “My name is Reo Fujiwara.”
With that she and the bodyguards got in the car and were gone. He walked into his new home, only to find a note on the table, “Your system is in the second room back, across from the kitchen.”
A week later was the day he had been waiting forward to for a great many years.

Welcome Players!
He opened Yggdrasil not wanting to wait a single second longer, and was greeted with the message, “Welcome to Yggdrasil”. He immediately proceeded to character creation. Now what would he be, he unlike all other players knew what was to come, and wanted to build a body he would be comfortable living in.
The first thing James was presented with was his choice of race. Human, elf, dwarf, angel, so on. James eyes became affixed to the single word, angel.
His first mother had always called him her little angel. As an angel, a heteromorph, he would live forever, but that came with the downside of making the game harder for him.
These downsides only made him love the game even more. 'What is a world without hardship?' James smiled at that thought, 'Worthless.'
He made the angel's appearance near identical to his own. The avatar had his Hazel eyes. His brown hair, the skin was a bit tricky always a shade or two paler than he would have like but after a few minutes he managed to fix that.
James was not a tall man, but neither was he short. So one of the few changes he decided to make was increasing his height to 6 feet.
When it came to the wings he was informed that leveling up his racial levels in angel would grant him additional sets of wings. So he was liited to a single set for now. He made them resplendant white wings like many would think an angels wings to appear.
“I’m not the good guy, I’m not the bad guy either, I’m just a guy.” He finalized his character and before he knew it, he was in the realm of Asgard.

Killstealer
Unfinished - Apologies to anyone who was reading but I have no current intentions to revisit this story Alex was stuck in a rut: He was nearing thirty, and his career seemed to be going no-where; He used to have plenty of friends at university, but had gradually lost touch with them. He had recently started using a dating site, but truthfully he never quite got over his ex. It could be worse; he didn't spend his nights wallowing in self pity. However, he had a sinking feeling that his life was going no-where fast. When Alex decided to take up an old hobby all he really was looking for was something fun to do on friday nights. Thrust into another world by a mad mage Alex must adapt quickly to survive. Unfortunately, Alex showed up late to game night and ends up stuck with a pretty mediocre character in this game like reality. Alex must learn to survive in this new world; just because it all seems like a giant game doesn't make death any less terrifying. This will be my first attempt at writing litrpg. I wanted to set myself the challenge of writing every week and I think knowing people might be reading it will motivate me. I've always worked much better with external deadlines. FAQ Why should I read this LitRPG? I am writing because I enjoy it and you should read it if you enjoy it. If I had to make an elevator pitch I would start off by saying my MC is a rogue type character, which seems a relatively uncommon character at least based on what I have read. I also strive to make the supporting cast three dimensional characters, and not just caricatures. Finally, I can't forget that this is a LitRPG so I have tried to make a RPG system with depth, and one that makes sense. How often will you release chapters? At least once a week is my goal. I am a nurse with a baby at home, so between my hospital and my baby I won't have time for more unless something dramatically changes. Will there be romance? I won't rule it out as I try to let my characters write their own stories. However, there will NEVER be a harem, it just isn't something I am interested in. Gore, Profanity, and Traumatising Content? I don't intend to have any of these present at obscene levels, but my tolerance might be different to yours. The tags are mostly there to cover me.
