The monkey king’s staff swung down towards Thomas’s head. Thomas using his full speed managed to intercept with his shield to block the staff but is forced to his knees from the blow. “Dodge, don’t block,” Thomas yells out as the shield’s enhancement triggers and blasts the monkey king with a wave of sound making it step back.

An arrow flew out from the surrounding trees and homed in on the monkey king but instead of sinking in it was deflected, sounding like it hit stone. The monkey king put his hand over his mouth and laughed at their attempt to hurt him. Right in the middle of his laugh, a lighting bolt slammed him into the ground.

Elizabeth shouted to her team, “It’s highly durable and seems to be made of some kind of stone. Go for armor-piercing attacks if you can.” Right as Elizabeth’s order rang out the monkey king rushes towards Rachel this time swinging his staff in a downward arc. Rachel tries to backstep out of the way but the staff grows two feet longer and impacts her torso shattering her ribs and slamming her into the ground.

Jesse starts to cast her healing spell as Robert and Thomas charge the monkey king. Right before they arrive two arrows drill into the monkey king causing the first real damage in this fight. The arrows drilled into the stone-like flesh of the monkey king making a small hole each and showing its blood for the first time.

Rallied by the sight of its blood Robert swings his swords in an effort to de-limb the monkey king but is deflected by its staff. Thomas’s blade, along with the healed Rachel’s, impacts the monkey king with only Rachel’s new blade doing damage. Michael calls out and the melee fighters back off time for two new arrows and a lighting bolt to impact the monkey king. After the dust settles it barely seems worse for wear.

Not disheartened, the melee fighters approached again with Thomas charging with his shield up while Robert and Rachel approach after hoping to capitalize on any mistakes the monkey king makes. The monkey king smiles and spins around with his staff growing longer over the spin until it impacted Thomas's shield knocking him off his feet and into Robert while Rachel slipped under the strike and rushed the monkey king.

Rachel’s blade flashes outscoring a deep grove along its stomach as it lets go of its staff with one hand to grab Rachel by the throat. Lifting her up the monkey king starts to apply more pressure right as one arrow slams into its eye while another thwacked into the shoulder of the arm that was holding up Rachel.

Rachel hit the ground and rolled away to regain her breath. Robert had gotten back up and charged the damaged monkey king. Rolling under the monkey king's attack he impaled it with his blade but was backhanded away, tumbling about 5 meters away letting go of his blade in the process.

Thomas then entered and slammed his shield into the back of the monkey king, making It stagger forward. Right as it turned around another lightning bolt slammed into it making it stagger. This was what Rachel need to get back into the fight and slash her blade at the monkey king’s leg. While Rachel was attacking the monkey king Thomas slammed his shield into the back of its legs.

The monkey king stumbled from Thomas’s attack right into Rachel's attack letting it land perfectly shearing off its right leg. The monkey king not ready for the sudden change in its center of gravity and fell to the ground. From there Rachel and Robert, who had grabbed his weapon, were able to cut off the rest of its limbs, and soon the head followed. Everyone let out a sigh of relief and let their guard down. Elizabeth could only look in wonder at how well her team worked even for their first fight. Elizabeth wondered if she was even required for this team.

Right then the body of the monkey king reformed and grabbed the leg Robert then chucked him in the air while grabbing its staff. The monkey king quickly swung his staff in a horizontal arc hitting both Rachel and Thomas knocking them both away. “I TOLD YOU!” rings out of the woods along with two arrows. One arrow pierced its left thigh while the other dug in the right shoulder blade. Both archers noticed that the arrows went much deeper than last time.

Elizabeth readied her sound gun and charged forward to help save the vanguard while Jesse prepared another healing spell. As Elizabeth got closer the monkey king focused on her and rocketed forward much faster than before. Elizabeth could barely dodge fast enough and felt the wind of the staff passing her body in a woosh.

Stumbling up Elizabeth gets her sound gun to fire right at the chest of the monkey king. As the sound waves pass through it blood spurts out of its mouth and its eyes light up in fury. The monkey king won’t die without a fight. It swings its staff towards Elizabeth’s body right as another lightning bolt crashes into the monkey king stunning it long enough for Elizabeth to dodge. “I’m out of mana, can’t cast any more spells,” Michael says in a frantic and worried tone. Right then Robert hit the ground and tumbled groaning in pain as he laid on the ground broken.

Jesse’s healing spell enveloped him in a cool blue aura as his wounds, both external and internal. Both Rachel and Thomas had gotten up and even with their injuries flanked the monkey king ready to fight, trusting Jesse to heal them. Elizabeth was dodging everything she could and thanks to her body armor she could tank hits better thank Thomas. Still, she was getting to the end of the rope with her body covered in burses before Rachel was able to get in a backstab getting the monkey king's attention off of her.

Thomas then slammed his shield into the monkey king’s side further damaging his internals. To finish it off Elizabeth in her beat state ran forward while the monkey king was distracted and drop-kicked it, then activated her Earthquake boots. The monkey king’s body exploded into chunks, bathing everyone nearby in blood. Everyone sat in silence for a minute just comprehending what just happened. Jeremy walked out of the woods with Kelly walking from a different direction. Jeremy voice what everyone was thinking. “WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!”
