《Blue mage》Chapter 24: The best meal

I was having a pretty good time out in the wild just hunting monsters and having a fun time. Of course, over the past two weeks, I had been attacked by three different groups with Tabitha’s being the last. It had taken two hours to learn her name even when I had given her an awesome bed, a warm fire, and the best monster meat I could find. None of her team had given any help or even their names. Not like it mattered much as they had mentioned that they came from Llyn and I need to go there anyway so I asked to join them back… it did not go well.
Tabitha and her whole team immediately went on guard with everyone at least drawing their weapons. Tabitha spoke, “We will not let a foul beast like you back to our homes!” I just looked at her before speaking, “Two things, one that’s really rude. I made these nice beds from scratch, and you don't even thank me. Two, you can’t beat me. I didn't even go all out last time we spared” As my words settle across the self-made camp, they tense up again and I groan in displeasure before preparing for a ‘fight’ and let out my hunger for show. It’s obvious that they can feel my hunger as the second that I unleash it they all go stiff as a board. Laughing I restrain my hunger and speak again. “For the last time, I’m not going to kill you or anyone in Llyn. I just need to talk to Luke about something. So chill or something.” I pause for a second. “Also, would a monster have shorts?” I say while pointing at my shorts. For the first time, they seem to use their eyes for something other than looking at my body and notice that in fact, they have nice warm beds and that I’m wearing some SICK shorts. While in the past I have made the lesser pants I have since learned the might of shorts.

It takes a second, but they seem to slowly get the idea that I’m not an enemy. Tabitha looks me in the eyes, “How do you look like that if your human?”
I give her a weird look, “Who said I’m human. Well, I’m around half human I think?” I really didn’t know as my race just says Draco-Human. It would have been nice to know how human I was. Shaking that thought from my head as Tabitha just looked confused. Which is fair given, to my very limited knowledge, I’m the only being who is kinda human kinda not. “What? How? Do I even want to know? Nope, I don’t.” Tabitha was able to quickly work through her feelings to an impressive degree. “So why do you even want to talk to Luke?” Tabitha asked confused.
“Well… I, um, ate something pretty tasty, um, and I would like to know where, um, I can find more of said tasty thing.” My sentence was filled with pauses as I tried to say ‘I want to eat another succubus’ without saying ‘I want to eat another succubus’. As it turns out that succubus were extremely tasty. Why wouldn’t a succubus taste good, I mean they are all about pleasure.
Tabitha looked at me with a look of suspicion and slowly nodded her head, “Sure, we’ll go with that.” At this point, I was kinda embarrassed but tried to play it off cool by giving a strong nod. Tabitha told her team to stand down, paused for a second before informing them that we were going back to Llyn, at which point to let out a mental cheer that was not so mental drawing the eyes of everyone. I just cleared my throat, turned my head a little, and scratched the back of my neck. They just rolled their eyes and started to walk after they gathered their items, I had placed next to their beds. Well, it was my walking speed, but it seemed like they were running.

They stopped after eight hours and started to set up camp much to my surprise. It seemed like they had a pretty low stamina bar. I could only shake my head in disappointment as I wove a silk bed for myself and of course, I wasn’t going to make beds for those rude assholes. None of them even complimented by bed-making skills. I laid down on my super comfy bed and watched the stars. I had noticed that after 300 Resilience I stopped needing to sleep which was nice normally as that meant more eating but right now it was lame. After looking at the stars for 6 hours the one on watch finally woke everyone up. After ten minutes of packing, we were back on the road and getting closer to eating another succubus and I could hardly wait. After a TWO-HOUR walk, THEY WAITED SIX HOURS FOR A TWO-HOUR WALK WHAT THE FECK. Back on the topic after a two-hour walk, we arrived at Llyn, and once again it had grown. I was starting to wonder where the people came from as Luke only started with around two or three thousand people. I thought that I would have some trouble at the gate but thanks to Tabitha, they only gave me side glances. As we passed some restaurants my desire to eat a cooked succubus rose and I NEED to ask Luke where to get one.
We quickly approached the town hall at the center of Llyn and Tabitha dismissed her team before flashing a badge at the guard who was doing his best to not look at me. In no time at all, we were in front of Luke. Luke could only be described as both perfect and extremely tired. Luke looked from me to Tabitha and back. He then sighed, “I know this would happen, how many died Jace?”
I’m taken aback, “What? No one, I don’t kill humans.”
Luke’s face relaxed for a second before it refocused, and he asked, “So what do you need?” Luke looked at me intensely.
I take a look at Tabitha before Luke waves his hand, so I ask him the most important thing yet. “I really want to eat another succubus. Where can I find one.”

City of Captives
In the Qursan Empire, the grey walls of the City press down on its subjects. It is a highly divided society which is based on the magical strength of its citizens. While the most powerful are trained as Mages, the majority of citizens use their limited skills with Essence to power the City in their assigned jobs. Jano is pretty much the lowest of the low in the Qursan Empire. A Class Ten citizen forced into transitory work after having his power restricted. When he gets the opportunity to change all of that, he takes it with both hands. This is a slow burning progression fantasy. Please expect at least two chapters per week. I love writing this story but I do have unfortunate things to deal with like work and life outside of writing. I may be able to write and edit more than that, but it will never be less! This is largely still a draft. I hope to use any comments and reviews in the future. Thanks for reading!
