《Strongest Young Master》A Surprise for the Red River Sect

As Ling Wei continues to cultivate, the examinee carries a thick stack of paper towards the north wing of the sect, upon opening the door, a loud creek could be heard, he hastily kowtows a mattress, which seems to be devoid of filth compared to the rest of the aged building, then turned around and left.
Right outside the building is a faded nameplate - if some squirts their eye hard enough, they can faintly make a name very familiar to the cultivation world - Ling Kuanguang.
Exiting the building, he walked back to the main hall, where all the elders were gathered around a table, as he enters, all the eyes suddenly turn to him.
A stern voice suddenly boomed, "Have you paid respect to our most respected ancestor?"
"Reply to sect ancestor, I have".
A skinny figure solemnly nodded his head but despite his seemingly weak figure, but no one in the room doubts his strength, as he was one of the few people still alive in the Island of Mortals to have lived in the same era as Ling Kuanguang. An old monster who had a cordial relationship with Ling Kuanguang 10 thousand years ago, he could be considered the pillar of the Red River Sect, when Ling Kuanguang was ascending, he benefited hugely when Ling Kuanguang gave him a herb which increased his lifespan and cultivation speed, usually cultivators of the Spiritual Tempering realm could only live 2 thousand years at most, his age exceed them many times.
"To this day, I still regret how we looked down on our respected ancestor, I heard that a sect in the upper worlds became the top sect due to his warm relationship. Remember, we mustn't look down on those who seem normal, it's not the young master we should be afraid of, but the person who came from humble backgrounds".

As the group of elders goes through the exam, they had an extremely serious face, afraid of missing a single detail, of the huge stack of answers, less than a tenth were accepted into the sect were separated into another pile, while the rest were shredded using spiritual essence.
As the huge stack slowly disappeared, they reached the final paper, the one written by Li Bing, an elder picked it up, upon looking at it, his body trembled, and handed it quickly to the old sect master. A moment of silence where a pin drop could be heard and the old sect master's face had two streaks of water running.
"We must immediately approach the person who wrote this, someone come, carefully seal the page and display it in the main hall, remember to treat them with the utmost respect, we cannot afford to anger them".
A huge commotion occurred through these respected figures, with the elders wanting to take a look, but none of them dared in front of the sect elder, and immediately left in search of the mother and son pair. Leaving only the sect master and the examiner in the room.
"Tell me, what did the person who handed the sheet look like".
"To respond to sect master, it was a woman who looked like a fairy, fairly tall around the length of my shoulders, her face is delicate, but the most apparent feature was her cold eyes".
"It might not be Ling Kuanguang than, my time is nearing, perhaps I wish to see the hot-blooded youth once more before I return to the earth".
"Sect master, however, the lady brought a child along with him, perhaps he may be a descent of Ling Kuanguang".
"Perhaps, nevertheless, if they don't wish to meet us, we cannot complain".

As all the sect elders frantically search for both the mother and son pair, the two are currently eating hot pot in the endless field of snow, transparent steam separates the two, as Ling Wei's chubby hands were fighting an internal struggle as he picks up the contents within the pot, and Li Bing's elegant eating manner that is neither too slow nor fast, the scene created was a harmonious one, were if not for the actual contents of the food they're eating.
Within the hot pot, spiritual essence enriching material could be seen anywhere, 100 thousand year ginseng which would increase a cultivator's lifespan by 10 thousand years, blazing flowers when consumed would produce the purest of fire bodies, Dao fruits which could instantly enlighten a moral into the realm of Dao seeking, meat from million years old beasts, and stock made from Phoenix, any one of these materials could war to break out between even the oldest of sects, but currently, being thrown together to make a hot pot, this extravagance is something only those directly related to Ling Kuanguang could afford. As they are eating, their dense spiritual essence leaking from the hot pot could make an ordinary piece of land become rich for millenniums to come.
If one peeks into the actual hot pot, however, they would see none of the celestial herbs and demonic beast meat, but instead, a pitch black soup could be seen, with million-year-old demonic beast visibility dissolving on the surface, even the richest of these herbs would look inedible.
Li Bing, however, doesn't seem to notice this and upon realising Ling Wei's slow eating speed, uses her jade chopsticks to pick up a piece of million-year-old true dragon meat from the pot, this piece of meat that would make any cultivator go crazy currently look notice like a part of a dignified true dragon, but instead a burnt piece of meat.
"Eat" Li Bing's stern face could make any cultivator afraid, but comprehending her face may frighten her child, she forced out a slight smile.
Currently, Ling Wei, who's cultivation could prevent even the deadliest of poison, seems to be suffering from food poisoning.

From the Final World
I have lived a long, long time. Longer than the universe knows; longer than any star has seen or traveling light records. My memories; that is all that is left that knows that length, and that which was seen within it. Then again, that is all that ever did. When I am gone, it will be forgotten, a truth and a history lost forever no matter who or what tries to find it. I think that is why I write this now. A record, or a lament, of the most significant being of all time. It is a prideful exaltation of endless triumph, or the dread condemnation of infinite evil. I don’t know which; I shall leave it for others to judge. I could explain further, of course. I could list the sins that have been committed, the deeds that have been done. Yet for now, I believe this is enough. Her story will speak for itself. About the good, and evil, in the heart of a single girl burdened with more than her fair share. And how she reacted to it. So, I will tell her story. Of gods and devils, mortals and monsters, of legends long forgotten and civilizations long turned to dust. And in the end, I hope she knows herself, whether it is salvation, or destruction, she should receive.

Iron and Wood - A Tale Of Empire and Clans
For centuries, the Midlands had been split into fragments. A once glorious, united Empire has become a shadow of its former self. Unity has not returned, and not for the lack of trying. The greatest of these successor states were the Li Dynasty to the south, the rulers of old, and the Emerald Empire to the North, with its vibrant vitality. Unity is the end goal, and both will sacrifice anything to attain this elusive dream. For unity would surely solve the conflict that had long plagued this once prosperous continent. The Ironwood Clan was a prime player. Some would consider them the ones holding the reigns to the horse named 'Unification'. Iron and wood were the backbones of civilization; similarly, the Ironwoods were the backbones of the Northern Empire, and by extension, the people of the Midlands. Their methods, as questionable as they might be, had strengthened the North. Yet, were they enough? In the midst of it all, a young Ironwood who had lost his path must once again find his way. For the sake of his own wellbeing; for the sake of his clan; and for the sake of the Empire and its subjects. However, is he willing to sacrifice for the good of all? Is he willing to condemn some for the sake of others? Is he willing to make the right, albeit harsh, decisions? Only the heavens would know. Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, events and incidents are the products of the author’s imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental. Additionally, any views and beliefs expressed by the characters are not the author's own. The story is also not an endorsement of any actions taken within. The 'profanity' and 'sexual content' warning tags are there to be safe (and to leave room for potential future changes), but for now these two things are not inside this novel. This is my take on 'cultivation', though it might be somewhat disconnected from the general idea of the genre. Release schedule: Two chapters a week. The cover was created using wombo art. While I believe that creations using the app are in the public domain, if that is not the case, I will take it down.
