The god-like being screams at me. "To be fair, I'm running from the Demon Lord, the strongest being alive." The Demon Lord rages behind me. "See I’m a curse master, and as the name implies I cast curses, a lot of them." The Demon Lord exclaims, "YOU ARE A PLAGE TO MY PEOPLE." "Right now the demon king behind me is slowly getting weaker." The Demon Lord yells "YOU REND MY BODY, STEAL MY HOPE." "Really slowly getting weaker. He’s been chasing me for around 1 year." "I WILL ERASE YOU FROM HISTORY!"

"Well in order to finish the towers, I cast a curse of immorality on myself." "I WILL END YOUR LINE!" "Well to answer that, it doesn’t affect regeneration thus if you cant regen your whole body from one cell, in theory, you can still die." "I WILL ESCAPE THIS TOWER AND BREAK YOUR WORLD!" "It also stops all growth and change, including your mindset, thoughts, and goals. You can also lose memories." "AHHHHHH!"

"It never stated how you could fix that problem but the remaining humans didn’t care, me included. It was too tempting to care how it might do that." "YOU ENDED MY RACE FOR A THIN HOPE!"
"You might be thinking that when I cast the immortality curse on myself my goal was something along the lines of ‘save humanity' or ‘get my loved one back’ but you would be wrong. It was ‘Dang, it’s pretty fun to climb this tower’." "YOU ENDED MY RACE FOR FUN?"
"Because of that, I’m currently laughing my ass off while running from a very distressed demon king who won’t stop screaming, well, curses at me." "AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" "So for how bad this plan could go, it’s going pretty well. Only about 10 more seconds before I start stabbing this pretentious asshole." "I WILL KILL YOU!"
As if on cue, the ‘strongest being alive’ trips and falls. I immediately do a 180 and draw my knife.

“OH NOW YOU FI-” was as far as the demon king got before I started stabbing him. You know some things are not as satisfying as you might think. I thought that stabbing the demon king over the over after running for way 1 year would have been really satisfying but lt felt kinda bittersweet.
On one hand, just saved humanity and I also don’t have to keep running. On the other hand, the climb is over and cuz of that pesky curse of immortality I probably won’t be able to adapt to a new world or just talking with people.
That’s when the screen popped up.
