Epilogue
“Hans…”
“Hn…”
What…?
Something feels heavy…
“Haaans…”
And somehow, I hear someone calling my name. But it feels so nice to the ear, like a sweet melodic lullaby. I don’t want to wake up…
“Haaaaans…”
But that ‘something’ keeps shaking my body. The weight is one thing, but I feel I two small hands on top of my chest that keeps pushing me to the ground. Am I still dreaming? I feel like I’m already awake though…
“Hn…?”
I tried to slowly open my eyes and peer through my heavy eyelids.
“Tia?”
“Really… Hans is hard to wake up.”
“My bad… I was a bit exhausted yesterday. *yawn* What’s up? Can’t sleep?”
“…”
She didn’t respond to my question as she hanged her head while sitting on top of me.
“That is… not it.”
“Hm? Toilet?”
“D-Don’t treat me like a kid! I… I can already go by m-myself! I think…”
She’s still scared, huh.
I stood up from my mattress so I made Tia sit beside me. Based from the position of the moons, it’s still middle of the night. The bright moonlight peeks through the window, illuminating the corners of the living room. We both lean on the wall while seated, as I wait for Tia to speak.
“…”
Hm. It seems like it’s something hard for her to tell me. Alright…
“Tia. Let me tell you a little story.”
“Hm…?”
Seems bewildered by my sudden words, Tia looked at me as if a question mark floats above her head.
“You see… There was once a boy who lives peacefully, together with his mother and father. He always had fun every day. Reading books, playing games, eating dinner, and being loved by his parents was his everyday life.”
“Is he your friend?”
“Nope.”
“Hmm…”
I continued the story as she hugged her knees while burying her face in it.
“But one day, his father was called by someone. His father said, ‘Son, I have to go and protect our country. Just remember that I am doing this for you and your mother.’ The boy was smart. He had already read several books and because of those, he already gained the knowledge which far surpasses that of a child. Just from those simple words, he already understood what his father meant. He was going to war.”
“Ehh? Is the father okay after the war??”

“Well… That is, the war didn’t end. And the father didn’t come back at all.”
“Ehh…”
“The boy grew up with his loving mother. The boy thought that if he has his mother by his side, everything will be all right. But… It was not the same for his mother. His mother missed his father so much and forced herself to work. Maybe, trying to forget the loss of his husband. And because of that… The boy’s mother got ill and passed away soon after that.”
“…!!”
“When her mother was already on her deathbed, he told the boy, ‘My son... I am so sorry... This is something inevitable. Getting separated with your father was the last string to be cut off.’ Even though the boy was smart, this time, he didn’t understand the words of her mother. He was only left with a small crystal pendant. Her mother died shortly after giving it to him.”
“Now he lost his mother…”
“The boy became alone. He had no one by his side anymore. But one day, a letter from his father was sent to him, brought by unknown strangers. He was brought into a strange place with only white walls and some unknown machines. After some time, he was trained to fight their enemies even though he was still a child. Then years passed and he became a grown man.”
I feel Tia leaning on me. Is she getting sleepy now?
“What happened to him…?”
“Hmm… He became a soldier himself. Fighting at an early age.”
“… I see.”
“Then he became a commander of a squad. A secret military squad to be used for secret missions.”
“…”
I don’t know if Tia still understands what I’m saying, but I continue to tell the story nevertheless.
“But one day, during a mission. One of his subordinates rushed towards the enemy. So to save her, he had to fight all the enemies by himself. In the end… He perished.”
“It’s a tragic story…”
“If you think about it, yeah. Kind of.”
“It is. He lost his father, then his mother, then he had to fight enemies even though he was still just a young boy. Then in the end, he even died…”
“But he died saving someone. Isn’t that great?”
“I think so too… But… It’s just sad for the boy…”
I couldn’t help but smile by Tia’s innocent remark. Tia can be quite mature, well, of course she would be because of her age. She’s already 20. But that being so… I heard from her that she was raised as a proper princess and I think because of that, she haven’t had the time of her life.

“But it’s not that bad after he died, you know?”
“Eh? What do you mean?”
“He was revived to another world.”
“Ehh??? Really?? What happened?”
Tia abruptly stood up from her place because of her surprise. Perhaps, because of the term ‘another world’, which caught her attention. Even though it’s not something impossible, being summoned from another world or to another world is still something that happens, though quite rare and legendary. So just by hearing it, people would usually get interested. Or at least, that’s what I’ve heard from other adventurers.
“Do you want to know?”
“I do, I dooo!”
Tia jumped from left to right with each foot, placing her clutch fists on top of her chest. Her eyes brimmed with excitement as she waited for me to continue the story.
“He saved a head chef and a little girl from a dangerous man, fought a huge wolf, and formed a contract with a cute Faunalian.”
I said so with a smile.
“… Eh?”
Tia stopped from jumping and looked at me with a surprised expression.
“Tia?”
“EHH????”
“Tia. You’re being loud. You will wake up Ceres and Anya.”
“Mmp!”
She then hurriedly covered her mouth as she resumed her jumping from a while ago. Then while hushing her voice into a whisper…
“Then! Then! You are that boy…??”
“Yep. I told you that I will tell you my secret too, right?”
“*nod *nod*”
“Well? Think you could sleep now?”
“How could I after hearing that! Tell me more about it!!”
“Haha. Some other day. You have to sleep for now.”
“Eehh…”
Tia puffed her cheeks in protest. Darn, I want to poke those.
“But… Hans. Before I sleep then.”
“Hm?”
Tia changed her tone into a serious one so I listen to her intently.
“I want… I want to thank you!”
“For what?”
I already know what she is talking about. But to help her with what she wanted to say, I intendedly acted like I don’t know what she’s talking about.
“For being my contract partner…”
“I see.”
“I also feel like I forced you to form it with me. And I feel bad about the things I placed on your shoulder because of it…”
“I don’t mind.”
“But…”
Tia gripped the hem of her shirt, perhaps due to her surging emotions. So I pat her head as a comfort and reassurance.
“You told me not to think about it, right? Isn’t it weird if you’re the one minding it after saying that?”
“That is…”
“Tia.”
“…?”
“I’ve already told you before we formed the contract. I saved you because I want to. I helped you because I want to. I didn’t think about what will happen or what will not. At that moment, I just wanted to save you, that’s all.”
“Hans…”
“And that’s what I feel even now. If you’re crying, I will make you smile. If you want to be spoiled, I will spoil you rotten. If you want your head to be pat, just tell me and I will do so.”
Saying that, I once again reached for her head for a pat.
“If Tia needs help, I will come running.”
“…!”
“Of course, it’s not just me. Anya and of course, Ceres. They both want to help you and be there for you. That’s why, you don’t have to mind it. A princess should be puff her chest out and be proud all the time.”
“I see… Okay…! I will do that then!”
“Good. That’s the spirit.”
“… Ehehe… Hans. Really… Thank you.”
“Do you think you can sleep now?”
“Mm! Thank you. That is why… Hans.”
“Hm?”
Without any warning, Tia closed her distance to mine and…
“*kiss*”
“…”
“Ehehe…~ Good night!”
After bidding me her good night, she ran towards the bedroom’s direction pitter pattering while holding her cheeks. And after seeing her silhouette off, I ran my finger to the spot where she landed her kiss.
“Is kissing on the cheeks a sign of gratitude in this world…?”
Recalling the sensation of her lips on my cheeks, I lie down on my mattress with a lighthearted mood. Bathe with the moonlight, I close my eyes, looking forward to what will happen from here onwards.

Path of Righteousness
What do you desire? What are you afraid of? You run away from one, pursuing the other. Is that all you are? Conquer your fears. Dig to the bottom and confirm, what you really want... ...For you cannot escape suffering and death. You only have a little time. Use it wisely. Uru, a young boy with no talent for magic or fighting, sets out on a quest to become an avatar of order, the physical embodiment of righteousness, in a distant future, where control of origin energy allows people to defy physics and manipulate causality. Mocked by fate and broken by impossible dreams, all that's left is to stand in defiance to cruel existence. Because there is a Truth out there, somewhere. Singular, transcendent, eternal. What would you sacrifice for it? *** This is a fantastic sci-fi epic. It's going to blend both western and eastern traditional fantasy tropes – like might & magic and cultivation – with rational sci-fi grounded fully in reality, to produce a purely fictional fairy tale. I'd like to deliver something light-hearted and yet wholly serious. An uplifting adventure exploring the unfathomable reaches of humanity, free of indecency, with a healthy dose of humorous banter, legendary beings, and most importantly – lots of exciting, firework-filled mayhem! I've tried reading many web novels, but there's a fundamental problem with them – the eastern ones are annoyingly repetitive, superficial and morally destitute, while western ones are often dark, convoluted and profane. There's only so much one can do to filter out the bad and try to fill in the gaps with their own imagination. It's one thing to eat tasty fast food, but if it's moldy and filled with toxins, then it's not only poisonous, but also disgusting. The appreciation of beauty and higher values is disappearing at an alarming rate. Although there are throngs of talented people out there, none of them are creating what I want to witness – an inspiring battle against impossible odds, ending in absolute victory. A triumph of the spirit so overwhelming, it crushes the spectator into his seat and takes his breath away. I'm looking for a real paragon, so now I'd like to try conceiving one. *** The MC's name comes from Tolkien's Elven dictionary in Silmarillion, 'Uru' meaning 'Fire', and 'Dagnir an Uruloki' meaning 'Slayer of Dragons'. *** Note: I'm neither a native speaker, nor an aficionado of literature – I've never written anything before, and despite proficient English my literary prowess is abysmal. It therefore takes me a painful amount of effort to polish the chapters and bring them up to par. Last year I wrote and posted some on FictionPress, but I stopped since it wasn't going anywhere. The appalling amount of filth and mediocrity being peddled in all the media nowadays – a result of no conspiracy to manipulate the masses, but plain supply and demand – is no longer just the triumph of form over substance, but most worryingly corruption of the latter. Who wants to read about ideals anymore? And yet, masses flock together to gobble up perversion and depravity. That being said, I can't rule out pitiful exposure as the culprit to my failure, so I am now once again trying to increase it here, possibly for the last time. If there are still human beings present, hungry or in need of a detox after eating too much garbage, make yourselves heard, so I can see a reason to continue the story. Otherwise it's pointless – I'm not going to make fodder for the masses, and I'm most certainly not going to throw pearls before swine. I'll simply stop writing altogether.

Path of the Stonebreaker
Femira spent her life stealing scraps and looting corpses just to survive another day. When she stumbles upon the chance to steal another's identity, she thinks she's found the ticket to an easy life. But she soon finds the glamour of the runewielder's hall hides as much peril as the bloodslick streets. Can she steal the greatest prize of all, the knowledge to reshape the earth, and make it out alive? Abandoned by his abusive father at the far reaches of the world, Daegan may not have the powers of his ancestors but he refuses to die in banishment. Will he make it back home in time to prevent a brewing war? ------------------- This is a gritty drama-driven, rambling tale that presents mysteries early on that the characters work to unravel throughout the story. It swings between action, drama, and sometimes some darker comedy. Warning: A whole lot of profanity, alcohol, drugs, implied violence, actual violence and mega-violence—the kind that involves knives sliding into eye sockets and brains spilling onto floors—the usual stuff, scenes of intimacy, mercenaries, pirates, lots of moral ambiguity, including a wizard that likes to make tea with the heat sucked from his victim's bodies and a heap of world-ending monsters ready to eat people. _______________ Expectations: Updates every Monday and Thursday. Chapters will be between 2,000 and 5,000 words. I'm Irish and write in "Irish English" which is to say that I don't use much of the letter "z"

An Extra-Ordinary Story about Ordinary People
In a different world, a different reality, where ordinary people occasionaly have extra-ordinary powers for no particular reason, we follow a number of characters, trying their best to live in this strange yet normal world. We have our first character, a currently nameless but sentinent creature who happened to find himself in the body of a strange fungus after an unknown incident that robbed him of not only his former body but of his memory, as well. Secondly, we follow Smith, a high-standing man who doesn't even need to explain which Smith he is, on top of the world, yet human enough to meet said fungus. And thirdly, we have another nameless character, who is burdened by the ability to summon things that he doesn't want. A charming gang, who will (most likely) meet at some point. --- All and all, it's a twist on the common super-hero world, where all super-heroes have somehow dissappeared, but not the possibility for new ones. The series that feature the mushroom-dude are the 123 ones, the stories that feature Smith are the ABC ones, and the ones that feature our newest character, the summoner-dude, are the abc ones. Neat, huh? Also, just a word of warning? The 123 ones are kind wierd, and you can skip the first few chapters and go straight to the ABC ones without missing too much. But I'd rather you didn't, since i really enjoyed writing them. In ABC and abc, the format changes to a more typical form, with proper grammar and stuff. So if you dont like the 123, I'd love it if you gave the ABC a chance :^) Anyhow, I hope you enjoy it!
