Ming Li passed through the town without problem and went directly into the sect. Duan Ho and the group were very nice to Ming Li, they told him a lot about their sect and the town "Our sect is just a branch sect located in this town, but we are treated as an important part of the major sect since we are the best producers of pills, Nature's dew, and Crystal Leaf, second only to the major sect. Also our sect has three pavilion which serves as our sect's pillars, they are Apothecary Pavilion, Magic Skill Pavilion, and Weapons Pavilion. We are proud members of the apothecary pavilion, that is why our levels is a bit lagging compared to others. Unlike the disciples in other groups, we have to put a lot of time in studying plants.
It was the first time that Ming Li heard of Nature's dew and crystal leaf, but before he could inquire about it they were right infront of the sect entrance.
The sect has a huge metal gate and brick walls which was covered in vines of various poisonous plats. Inside, Ming Li saw a giant crystal leaf hovering at the center of the sect. The leaf looked extremely elegant and perfectly carved. Even though it was made of crystal, Ming Li can't help but think that it was a real leaf of a giant tree.
Everywhere, there were many people walking around holding plants, weapons, or crystal leaves. "Why are the people holding many items, and what are those crystal leaves, it looks like the one hovering over there."
Yu Lan chuckled and pointed at the giant leaf "That giant leaf is said to be brought here by an ancestor from the main sect to protect this branch sect. Those crystal leaves are created by the Apothecary Pavilion. Crystal leaves is created from various plants combined to create a magical item that can execute a magical skill on its own. The Apothecary Pavilion specialize in growing and hunting various herbs but the thing that makes the apothecary pavilion unique is not only our crystal leaf, but we also have a special method to mix several plant extract and create a liquid which is concentrated natural energy! Unlike pills which just allows someone to improve natural energy absorption and refinement, this liquid can directly give the core pure and refined natural energy! The only downside is that the method in creating the liquid is more rigorous."

Ming Li listened carefully to every word of Yu Lan as his interest kept growing, and could't help but grin unconsciously.
Duan Ho added "Also, those disciples are holding those items because today is the weekly trade, where disciples exchange goods and also sell to the people in town. I will teach you about that stuff next time, Let me first introduce you to my father."
Without much delay, they all went to the Apothecary Pavilion. Inside, strong scent of plants covered the whole place. They entered several doors and hallways until they arrived at garden filled with plants. The sight was refreshing, there were a lot of variety of plants and even trees. At the edge of the field, he saw a man on his forties. He was tall and slender with long beard and brown eyes, the same brown eyes as Duan Ho.
"Father! Father!.. I brought a friend over who wants to join the sect." Said Duan Ho.
The man smiled lovingly and said "Is he your friend? If he is your friend of course your father will consider."
Duan Ho replied "He is not just our friend, He saved our lives from a rampaging armored bear near the outskirts of town. Even though he is the same level as me he is much stronger!"
The man looked at Ming Li "Young man my name is Duan Che, second head in the of the Apothecary Pavilion and I thank you for saving my son's life."
Ming Li was taken aback and slightly shivered, he knew that Duan Ho has good connection in the sect since he have been observing their group for several days. However, he never thought that Duan Ho would actually have a high ranking father in the sect. "Holy @$*@, if this old man knew that I planned everything I will be screwed."

Ming Li saluted and replied "It is nothing Senior Duan Che. Your son and his friends treated me well along the way and taught me many things, that is enough payment for me."
"Ming Li, my son said you wish to enter the sect. Which pavilion so you wish to serve?" Duan Che directly asked.
"Senior it would be best to join the Apothecary Pavilion since I have interest in plants and herbs." Ming Li flatly answered.
Duan Che laughed "Good. Well I won't be strict with your requirements since you saved my son, so I will allow you to join the sect under my special privilege as the second head of the apothecary pavilion."
Duan Che tapped his cube and a crystal leaf flew out "Take this crystal leaf, it will prove you are part of the apothecary pavilion. Also Ho'er take him to the earth disciples area and show him his room. After that come back here to me."
Duan Ho escorted Ming Li at his room "This is the area you will stay. Earth disciples stay in this area. Each one are given their own room, you can study plants outside at the yard for the earth level disciples. Do not worry I'll teach you more stuff later. For now read this book its a guide for new disciples. I need to go now, since father is waiting."
Ming looked out the window "Alright this place is great and the view outside is also good. Thank you."
When Duan Ho left, Ming Li started studying the book. In the book, the history of the sect was written up to the rules in the sect and how it operates. "So I need to either grow or hunt for plants and exchange them for soul ores. The sect basically manages a fair market. Anyone can earn any amount if you just work hard. Also there are three level of disciples here, the earth, mountain and sky. I am currently at the lowest level right now and since this is the Apothecary Pavilion, I have two choices to become a mountain disciple and that is to either become extremely rich and buy my spot or achieve the required skill level."
"For now I'll observe outside and see what I can buy or sell."
"This place is interesting. I'll walk out for a bit to look at the plants being sold and the quality of pills."

It's granted him what is widely considered the most unlucky of inconveniences: becoming host to a powerful but pernicious spirit that will act as his guide and protector--and one day end his life. Sairne is sworn to stand by August's side and, when the fancy strikes her, advise him, all in the service of atoning for a past life she can’t remember having committed a grave enough offense to earn her soul indentureship in the mortal realm. Bound by a celestial contract neither one can negotiate, their fates are all they've ever known. But in a city ruled by religious right and where magic runs deep as bedrock, their search for a missing friend leads them to a dark conspiracy that could transmute the very magic that binds them to their fates, and that might grant them the ultimate choice: do they save the city or save themselves? Cross-posted on Wattpad and Ao3. For fans of fantasy YA story beats if they starred adults instead, 1920s inspired setting, lots of banter, larger cast of characters, somewhat soft magic system. Completed, but being actively edited prior to posting! I'm the only captain on this ship, so mind any errors.
