《The Heavens Shall Fall》Chapter 46: Murderer

Since Ming Li now knew that his pursuers where in a different group, he sighed in relief. With them being on a different group would make his infiltration much easier. "Over there is the mission hall, you can take missions in that place. At that corner is the poison hall, they create various types of poison for the guild. Our group specialize in poison, however it does not mean that we only use poison. This is a guild, so many different people are gathered here with different origins. So there are a variety of arts, but you can't get your hands on them easily. Most of the people here are from different clans or sect who were kicked out for some reason or left on their own, but they still want to keep their art on their own." Ming Li kept on listening to Pan Bo's insistent sharing of information. Even though he never asked for it, Pan Bo would freely share all of his knowledge about the guild. They walked around the guild for the whole day. At the end of the day, Pan Bo escorted Ming Li to stay on Nutty's place since he knew that they were sworn brothers. Ming Li didn't feel any sense of camaraderie in the guild. Everyone except Pan Bo made him feel that the whole guild was only a place where criminals gather. Ming Li felt that he would surely die if he does not act careful inside the guild. It seems like a life of the members of the guild wasn't treated as valuable as a disciples life in a sect. The next day, he walked around alone and looked at the market of the guild. He found out that there was a lot of things for sale in the market which made him have a better opinion of the guild, however upon deeper observation, he noticed the lawlessness in the marketplace which allowed stronger people to take what they want for free from weaker guild members. When he saw all of the open robbery happening, he thought "I will not be able to open my shop here and earn soul ores. I guess it is survival of the fittest in here." He walked around the whole day observing people stealing, fighting and killing one another. The only good thing was that, the killings were less than what he initially thought. He only saw one death the whole day and they seem to be people with great enmity. When he got back at Nutty's place, he pondered for some time as his eyes slowly shone with bizarre light as he said "Seems like I have no better choice than to earn money through killing people! These guys are my enemies, so it doesn't matter how many I kill. It would be better if I can even end their guild." When he made up his mind, he stood up and went up to the roof of his place. There, he sat crossed legged and observed people who were visible from the roof. His place was located at a higher ground on the mountain and he could see a lot of people roaming around the guild. The outside of the guild was even visible from his location which made him learn more of the layout of the place. He did not move for several days to study everyone he finds interest in. After a week of careful observation, he smiled viciously and jumped from the roof. Ming Li went out of the guild to walk around and follow some people who were hunting for monsters. He kept himself hidden and followed a lone man who was at the tenth level of the beginners realm. The man did not wander too far from the guild and kept his guard up while hunting. However, while observing a Blue Flame Boar, his blood suddenly splattered and his vision went dim. Behind him Ming Li stood while looking at the dead body of the person and said "It seems like this could actually work." He still felt pity for the man, but the enmity between them and the Black Spider Guild could not be resolved by words anymore. So he buried him emotions and reduced the corpse of the man to ashes. When he looked at the man's cube, he sighed then said "Too little, I need to kill a lot if I wish to get rich." After killing a single person, he decided to go back to his place and meditate. Randomly killing people made him think if he was really doing the right thing. However in the end, he decided to continue killing the black spider guild members until he gets his answer. On the second day, he followed another person on the tenth level of beginners realm. This time the person was fighting a monster. The fight was obviously on favor of the man, and there was no signs of him losing, but in a blink of an eye, he suddenly felt great pain in his body. He fell on his knees and saw the claw of the monster land on his face. His skull cracked and his vision went dark. Ming Li went out from the bushes then used torment on the monster. The monster roared in pain as he gathered the cube of the dead man. This time he did not burn the man, instead he stole most of the things of the man and left his cube. He did that to avoid suspicion, and decided to sometimes kill members of the guild this way. So that the deaths would be considered as accidents while fighting monsters. His killing spree continued for days. He employed several tactics to kill his opponents, even weak members wasn't spared. In just a short three weeks, Ming Li already killed around 40 people. He made sure that everyone he killed has little connection to anyone. Also, he killed several oppressive people who many people wants dead, this way nobody would care if that person dies. Slowly, his strength increased by using all the soul ores he got from killing people to buy demon's grace. His collection of random items also grew more. His strength was now at the third level of Body Tempering Realm which made his tasks easier. The number of demon's grace he needed also grew exponentially. Right now he wasn't computing how many divine nature's dew he needed to sell, instead he was computing how many more people he needed to kill in order to gain a level. His way of thinking became a bit twisted when he started to get used in committing murder. "To gain a level I probably need to kill fifty more people, If I get lucky and killed someone rich then I'll need to kill less." He paused for a bit then thought for a while. "I guess It should be If I get lucky, those idiots who are supposed to die are also lucky. Hahahaha!" His laugh was maniacal that it would have anyone's hair stand on their end. Ming Li knew that he was turning into a murderer, however he does not care as long as he gain enough power to eliminate the whole guild. The guild has been obstructing him and he had to create a way to end them, even if he becomes the devil himself. ... "Alright Ninety kills. I guess I'm not too lucky to reach ninety kills before I had enough soul ores to buy demon's grace to reach the fourth level." Ming Li became extremely used to killing that it was a daily routine for him. Oddly, nobody in the town noticed this mass killing done by Ming Li. Since there isn't even a law to protect the members of the guild, Ming Li's continuous slaughter remained unseen. He felt like he was farming gold out by simply waving his hands. Every time he earned a lot of soul ores, he would offer some to the guild which gave him a good standing. He also offered several monster core's to ensure that the guild would think that he was always hunting for monsters outside the sect. Those monster cores were from the dead guild members, and he has no use for them, so the amount of monster core he donated to the guild was much more than what a normal guild members could offer. Pan Bo always came by his place to talk about random stuff. even though Pan Bo was easygoing, he still focused in improving himself. Even Ming LI was amazed on Pan Bo's rapid growth. On the other hand Pan Bo always lectured Ming Li about his slow growth. What Pan Bo didn't know was that Ming Li used a pill to hide his actual level, so that people would not pay much attention on him. Pan Bo would give him advise on how to gain level fast which made him feel really thankful to Pan Bo. Despite his hate for the entire Black Spider Guild, he treated Pan Bo without hostility and didn't wish to harm him. On his second month stay on the guild, Ming Li was called by an Elder in the Mao Group, Ming Li didn't feel good about the summon, however he had no choice but to comply. He was escorted by a young man with blank expression. The man didn't talk much, he only escorted Ming Li on a certain building on a guild, where they entered into a room in which Ming Li was left alone. On the dark room, Ming Li strode in anxiously, this will be his first time seeing an elder in the Black Spider Guild. He expects to see someone who could strike fear with just a gaze and could kill him with a wave of a finger. When he was at the center of the dark room, he suddenly heard a cold voice. "We have received news about your frequent offering towards the guild, which made us feel your wish to gain the trust of the guild." Then the voice stopped. Another colder voice resounded as it said: "So young man we would like to ask you, would you offer your life for the guild!?" Ming Li stood nervously in the dark. He does not know the real purpose of the summon, so he instinctively thought that he was found out!

And as he found himself dragged deeper into a catastrophic series of events that would change his perception of the world, and the course of history for the world itself... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Author's comments: The story was meant to be a satire of the Japanese animanga tropes.... until it got out of hand to the point I'm not sure it's a satire anymore. I hope you can find enjoyment in it nonetheless.
