Silent ambled round the massive SUV to the driver side door. Employing the handholds and steps to climb into the set, she turned over the engine. Tock still cracking up, sat down next to her to ride shotgun. Zabel assured Tom after thinking about the mountain of paperwork she gets to do.
"I will get to work on it as soon as we get to Gun Tower Sr."
Tom was surprised at the remarkable ease of acquiring one.
"Oh, ok then."
Crouching down so his head wouldn't hit the bear metal roof and slid on the bench all the way to the left. He apologized to Silent for his leg bumping into her tail. Give him a back handed wave and the tip of her scarred up tail tucked its self in one of her belt loops. Zabel sat down next to him and was followed by Jester. Tock passed the CB radio mic to Zabel. Its flexible cable snaked over an ammo box and med-kit.
"Beta-6 and White King moving to Gun Tower, over."
The radio burped some static.
"Good work Beta-6, Gun Tower is too far for prisoner transport. Move to bunker B-3, over."
Tom hovered a hand over the mic and everyone tensed up.
"Is there a mini gun at Gun Tower?"
She directed her gaze out side.
'Affirmative Sr. Also Sr, please calm down. Frost is starting to grow on the windows."
Looking away from her, it was not just the windows. There was frost spreading everwhere inside the freezing SUV. Whit a wave of a hand, warmth returned. Tom didn't realize he was that furious. Grabbing the mic out of her hand, he spoke bluntly into it.
"This is Tom, I am going to Gun Tower. Also White King is turely a terrible code name, I want a new one."

This huge breach of radio etiquette and regulation left every kobold listening in thunderstruck. He passed the mic back to Zabel as she numbly thought about the cluster fuck going on at HQ.
"Beta-6 and... Tom moving to Gun Tower, over."
There was a lengthy pause before HQ replied.
"C-copy that Beta-6, over."
Silent shifted the SUV into drive and pulled out of the packing lot. Tock dug out a portable DC player and carefully deposited it on the window dashboard. Flipping the power stud to on and hit the play button. A song began to occupy the quiet interior. Jester sung along with the words to Gorillaz: Kids with guns as it played.

This only barely takes place in that universe since I like the basics of the lore and nothing more. It will barely feature a single prominent character, and the focus will mostly just be on the main character trying to grow himself out of danger, in the meantime denying the very idea that he could possibly be lonely. The first few dozen chapters will entirely focus on him growing from almost a gnat all the way to a real asteroid-eater. After that, an actual story will appear. Got the idea when I was reading the 2017 Darth Vader comic and my mind suddenly flashed back to that scene in the original trilogy when they're in some asteroid field and almost get eaten by a big monster. I loved that scene, and my inhibitions will no longer chain me. Enjoy, but don't take this too seriously.

They should have realized that portals that open once, can be opened again, and that what they thought they left behind, might one day catch up.
