After drive through town was quiet for the most part, But when they entered the interstate highway it was a huge traffic jam. Tom sat there in the SUV thinking to himself.
'I don't have to put with traffic anymore so why am I now?'
Tom made a announcement to the kobolds.
"Ok everyone if you have any device that has an electronic computer that is on, Turn it off now."
There was some rustling as the girls turned off random inside the SUV. When they all got quiet, Tom levitated them up. He looked nonplussed at all of the stuff drifting round and also at the panicking Kobolds. He gave them some time to adjust as Tom plucked a book out of the air. It want into grate detail about a portal mage opening gateway into his world fifty years ago. Zabel tapped him on the arm.
"Sr. everyone has calmed down now."
They were all tensed up, but not screaming anymore. Tom smirked.
"For now."
The SUV fell sideways whit five gravitys behind it. Moving seemed to be more relaxing to them as their death grips loosed and Tom asked out loud.
"So how did Silent get that curse on her?"
Jester started to laugh.
"I know, but she don't want me to tell anyone."
Silent sat there observing m&ms two slowly orbiting each other in the zeor-G. Tom hummed.
"If I know what happened, I maybe able to dispell."
She turned round in her set and made some hand gestures at Jester.
"Ok, Ok. I tell him. She was at a bar one night and drunker then all hell. There was a witch and Silent tried to take her man. Next morning she woke up in the barracks, hanging upside by spider webs."

After thinking this over in has mind.
"I'm too sleepy do anything about it right now, but I get a good look at it tomorrow."
Tom was given a salute from Silent before she turned back round. Zabel cleared her throat.
"Sr. we should be there soon. Can you put us down by the road. If we try to land in the base, they may shoot at us if we don't make radio contact."
Asking her as he set them down on the ground.
"So, why dose the clan have so much military hardware... and paying for it?"
She hesitated before answering.
"Sr. I don't know if I should be the one telling you this, but here it goes. The Fire Tail Clan and fifteen other dragon clans plan to overthrow the government. We shall take our rightful place as rulers."
Slowly blinking once, Tom asked.
"Why me?"
