《Enlightened Violence》Chapter 11: A Blunder

"@#$#@#$#@#[email protected]#," Curse words kept streaming out of my mouth in combinations that I didn't even know existed before as I kept fighting for my life.
I've been standing my ground for the past ten minutes, and the only thing that's been keeping me from being torn to shreds was my Aura armor, but even that will reach its limit eventually as the zombies' hits kept impacting it.
"I blame that smug bastard with the silver prosthetic hand," I murmured to myself with a resigned expression as my aura armor began rippling, seemingly ready to disappear at any second.
'Might as well try my luck and to run for it again instead of standing here waiting for death.' With that conclusion, I immediately turned my back to the zombies coming from the left entrance, charging towards the right.
I began swinging my baseball bat in a frenzy, bashing zombie skulls left and right in front of me, as the Aura shield immediately shattered because of the zombies' attacks coming from behind me, since I had abandoned all forms of defense, focusing solely on offense.
There was no going back now. I would survive by reaching the exit, or I would die here, but I'll at least pass away knowing that I took as many of the rotten bastards with me as possible.
The undead creatures' jagged claws hitting my back hurt like you wouldn't believe, but I still had decently ranked endurance parameter, so I endured through gritted teeth as I caught one of the undead in front of me, throwing it backward and hoping that it would buy me some time.
'Well, this could be the end.' That was all I could think of as throwing that zombie backward only bought me a fraction of a second, with the undead resuming their attacks even more ferocity after that brief time.
One of the undead creatures managed to sink its claws into my shoulder, drawing blood and forcing me to stop as I turned around and sent it flying away with a swing of my baseball bat.
And the zombies that were previously in front of me didn't miss the chance and threw themselves at me immediately, forcing me to start swinging in all directions with my back towards the wall again, as I had lost all momentum.
More and more undead creatures managed to get through my frantic swings, riddling my body with bloody wounds all across my arms and chest.

I was losing blood, a lot of blood, and my head was feeling faint as my vision began to blur, and that was when I heard it.
[Energy: E+ -> D-]
That was all I needed to hear as I grinned hideously with my own blood and zombies' blood covering my face, immediately releasing the energy I've been saving for this occasion, along with whatever the parameter upgrade added.
The energy came out of my body as a red, transparent aura, exploding in a shock wave that sent the zombies around me flying in a gory mess of mangled flesh and bones.
I immediately made a run for the exit, taking advantage of the space that the aura explosion created, but I didn't get far as I finally laid my eyes on the reason why the undead were acting strangely.
It was an undead creature, but it differed immensely from the ones I've been fighting so far. It did not seem to have any flesh, only patches of discolored skin covering a set of thin, seemingly ancient black bones.
Its eye sockets shined in bloody red light, radiating intelligence unlike the lifeless eyes the zombies had, but that's not what led me to believe that this thing is the reason why the zombies were acting strangely.
It was the fucker's aura that made me sure about it. The usual undead creature's aura had little information about their owners, their urge to kill and devour the living, how they would move, and nothing else.
They had no emotions, no thoughts, no sentience. They didn't even hate living creatures and only moved to kill and devour based on an urge even they did not understand.
However, on this motherfucker's aura, not only did I read hostility directed towards me, I even began to notice hints of its aura in all the surrounding undead creatures.
Name: Kushim
Age: ??????
Race: Undead
Bloodline: Royal Undead.
Parameters:
Strength: E
Agility: E
Endurance: D-
Intelligence: D
Energy: C
Overall evaluation: D-
"There you are, motherfucker!" I exclaimed as I immediately charged towards it, noticing some zombies moving to stand between me and whatever this thing was.
With my target in sight, I didn't hesitate, not even flinching as some of the undead managed to sink their claws into my flesh as I sent them flying left and right.
I quickly reached the royal undead and immediately swung my baseball bat at its head while imbuing the last of my energy into Bloodsport.

The swing connected despite the royal undead's attempt to block with its bony hands, breaking both its arms and skull and grinding them into dust as it fell to the ground shrieking gibberish for several seconds as I kept bashing it with Bloodsport until it was finally dead, well more dead than it was a second ago, but you get the idea.
I collapsed on my knees several seconds later, bleeding from all over my body as I heard the notification confirming the royal undead's death, along with several others that I did not have the energy to check right now.
The zombies quickly lost all of their vigors, reverting to their mindless sluggish nature, but they didn't disperse and promptly began making their way towards me, albeit a lot more slowly.
I tried to get up several times, but my body refused to listen to me, and I only managed to get on my feet by leaning on my baseball bat, resting my back on the wall behind me for support.
The first zombie quickly reached me, and despite my best efforts, I couldn't swing my baseball to bash its head, so I did the only thing I could have done in that situation.
I let myself fall on the zombie as it sunk its claws into my arms, trying to take a bite out of my shoulder, and I fell on top of it and immediately bit its neck, gouging a chunk after chunk until it no longer moved.
"What are you waiting for, you bastard? Come and get me!" I shouted with a maniacal expression, as that was the only thing I had the energy to do as I struggled to sit with my back to the wall and my legs laying on the ground.
The undead creatures didn't need any convincing, as they were already doing just that. I thought about biting my own tongue to spare myself the pain of being eaten alive, but I shook my head with a bitter smile.
'If I'm going to die anyway, then I might as well die fighting instead of taking the easy way out.' And with that thought in mind, I did the only thing I had the energy to do; I glared at the undead creatures as they slowly approached me.
Five or so of them came within two meters' distance from me as my glare, unfortunately, didn't have the power to kill, even though I was sure that there are looks capable of killing in this world.
I knew that death was the only outcome possible for me now, but there was nothing to do about it except to glare at the rotten, walking corpses that were about to tear me to shreds, which I did because I refused to die while looking helpless.
"Hi, I'm Kaden Solomon, and you're watching jackass!" I remarked, smiling cynically despite the situation as the undead finally reached me, with the first to arrive bending over to take the first bite.
I kept staring at the zombie as I began losing focus due to blood loss, waiting for the pain when it finally hit me. 'The fucking badges!'
I felt so fucking stupid that I was tempted to throw all badges away and die right here and now, but to be fair, I'm just a man from a boring world like earth, and it would take some time for me to get used to things such as Badges that give you an extra life.
"I don't know what this jackass thing is, but I still give you a seven out of ten score as far as last words go," said a feminine voice as the back of a short woman and a mane of long black hair appeared before me, falling from the sky on top of the zombie trying to bite me and crushing it to bits.
I quickly hid the badge I just took out with an awkward expression, trying to hide the fact that I was acting so dramatically while forgetting that I had a way out.
"Ahem," I coughed to hide my embarrassment. "And who are you?" I asked, taking a deep breath and displaying a neutral expression.
"You can call me FlatLiner because that's what I do; I flatline people," the woman replied as she turned to look at me with a grin.
