The rules of Heavens, in their own way, try to keep up the balance and fairness of the world. The fairness was not related to the food cycle. The Heavens didn't care about the life of mortals or cultivators. Even if they cared, they wouldn't intervene.

The balance and fairness were related to external changes in the current environment of the world. If a foreign race or a foreign object tries to invade a world then they would face Celestial Punishment.

If a person has the memories of his previous life then he has the potential to create a havoc in the world. If the person was some high-ranking cultivator in the past then in current life he could use the memories of his past life in such a way that the entire delicate balance of the world would be destroyed.

Under the might of black and white lightning, most of the imperial palace was destroyed.

She felt guilty for harming him but that didn't stop her actions. She has lived for thousands of years and she dreaded death. If a person dies then what is the use of family wealth and power? She wanted to live.

But now she felt Heavens didn't want her to live! Otherwise, why would she face a Celestial Tribulation! No! Not Tribulation but Punishment! Damn!

Without any hesitation, she used the entire blood essence in her body to cast a small defensive shield against the incoming lightning.

Her heart was full of pain for using the blood essence as it determines the longevity and potential of a person. But what is the use of blood essence if she dies?

She was a half-step World King but the lightning tribulation was at Dao Ancestor realm! That too at peak stage! It was a huge gap of two realms!

In the eyes of mortals and cultivators, the Heavens might be cruel but they are fair. But today she felt the Heavens were unfair otherwise why would she be targeted for no reason? Why would she be killed!
