Book 1: Chapter 3: A First Failure

Fuck! Did I just screw myself? Better question, did things really go down like that? I have a feeling that they did and they didn’t but I’m not sure which is true. A part of me thinks that I didn’t seduce her that much… but another part says it’s 100% my fault and that I must take responsibility. I guess it’s too late now… -Nick

“Ahh that was fun, but we need to finish eating because at 10:00am we have a press conference to introduce our newest member and other boring shit. After we get back it’s your job Nick to find these fuckers so we can’t end them!” –Mr. Absolute

“Sounds like a plan…” –Nick

*SIGH*

With that said and done breakfast rapped up and the girls went off to the make-up rooms while the guys simply shrugged and put on their costumes. Nick not having one yet went back to his shared room and put his Armani suit back on. Fortunately it wasn’t dirtied too badly from the night before. A few expert uses of telekinesis and all the dirt and wrinkles were gone and the suit looked as new as before.

The Press conference was a pretty standard affair and probably would not have taken more than 15 minutes if not for one major elephant in the room. Mr. Absolute gave his normal speech that had the whole world swooning as usual, he even said they found Nick through a government contract and that he is the best one to fill the void left behind from Techie’s death. It wasn’t until the obligatory questions came around all focused on the fact that Solaria is clearly hanging way too close and snuggly on Nick’s arm that things went awry.

Normally Mr. Absolute has an answer to everything and would easily be able to brush things off. Hell even a non flustered Nick had plenty to say… Unfortunately, it was Solaria backed by Barb that did all the talking. Needless to say the whole world now knows that Solaria and Nick are engaged and that the wedding is in a week…

I don’t even… nevermind… I give up! –Nick

Back at the Hall Nick said to give him some time and he will have an update soon about the location of their current targets. Of course Nick thinks his target is Dr. Sin’s lair but when he checked his mission status he saw only Ted and Vlad were on it and that they were both K.I.S. as expected but no mention of Dr. Sin at all. Not thinking much of it, Nick just assumes it is because there is no proof that Dr. Sin was behind any of the latest attacks, regardless of the fact that Ted and Vlad are on his payroll. They even forgot that Soul Clash was previously only seen with Dr. Sin in the past, oh well a mystery for another day is what they say.

Finally back at my terminal. I have put this off long enough. Time to finally reconnect to all of the girls at once. It has been at least 4 years since that has happened… I hope none of them hate me. –Nick

‘Ahh, I miss you too Yuki, but that isn’t important right now. We got work to do and our mission has been updated. We are to find Ted and Vlad asap so we can end them. Somehow they all knew we were at that restaurant the other night so they must have used some type of electronics to get this information. Also they had a miniature EMP which means they had great intel.’ –Nick

‘What, do you think we are weaklings? These two have already been found. They are still in New York. It is in a warehouse upstate, the details are already on your terminal.’ –Yasmine

‘Yea Daddy, don’t be lazy. I already set everything up ahead of time, though we need more info to find Dr. Sin.’ –Sally

‘I don’t care what you do, you can get hurt for all I care. In fact, you should just go and die since you don’t care about us anymore. Wait! Do you even have to go on the mission?’ –Yuki

‘Actually no, I’m still considered a noncombatant until I do an Aura test or something… but that is a story for another time. I’ll just come up with a good plan and send my team to these coordinates and hopefully I will be eating wolf meat for dinner!’ –Nick

‘Yes, wolf meat sounds delicious. Especially while the wolf is still alive and screaming a little bit!’ –Gabriela

‘I agree, these two do not deserve a warriors death. They have no honor!’ –Yasmine

‘*YAWN* All will be fine, just don’t do too much work, stress is bad for you, it’s ok to be lazy every once in awhile…’ –Sarah

‘Okay well it is time for me to go, but don’t worry, I will be in contact more often now that you girls are connected to my terminal legally.’ –Nick

Ahh I’m glad that’s done, now the starts of my plans for revenge are complete. I just need to come up with a device to stop those two. I think I have a solution for the turning into bats/mist thing that makes Master Vampires unstoppable but the mangy wolf is just a wolf. Simple silver and tons of strength and speed should be enough… Wait… what is that… Why do I feel so GOOOOOOOOD. –Nick

Of course that is because a certain Solaria is giving a slow blow during his desk. By the time Nick realizes what is happening he is already at the point of no return making a huge mess all over Solaria and the front of his desk. Ignoring that for a moment, Nick tries to stay on task.

“Solaria! I found them! Ted and Vlad are not far from here at all, I have a plan and need to make a device real quick to help with it so assemble the team in 1 hour.” –Nick

“Yes honey. Do you like my technique?” –Solaria

Those eyes, what is with those eyes! It’s not fair I tell you! –Nick

“Yes of course! Best technique ever!” –Nick

“And don’t you forget it! I’m going to get cleaned up and then I’ll assemble the team.” –Solaria

Nick uses the next bit of time to create a brand new device which should work splendidly on a mist turning vampire! With that done he goes and meets everyone in the command center.

“I take it you have some good news for us Nick?” –Mr. Absolute

“Yes, these handouts here have the location and layout of the building that Ted and Vlad are currently residing in. This is most likely a trap since it didn’t take more than a minute to find them so I have created a device to hopefully allow us to win.” –Nick

“What type of device? Remember last time they had an EMP so electronic devices are useless. Techie had more than enough devices to defeat these guys but none of them will work!” –Porter

It is clear that Porter is still a little upset about the loss of Techie, but that doesn’t deter Nick at all. It helps of course that he doesn’t care one wit about Techie or Porter for that matter, they can both die for all he cares, and with a little prodding he’s sure he can get Solaria on his side too. But Barb is too scary, she is really pissed and angry, one must never get on her bad side!

“It’s a containment field device, and before you say it won’t work because of another EMP just know that it is powered by Aura and the stronger the Aura the stronger the field. I made it specifically for Mr. Absolute since it should compound on his Absolute field making it so nothing within can escape. From there you just have to subdue what is left of the vampire.” –Nick

“Great news Nick, so glad you are on our team. Techie would be lost right now trying to come up with an idea. Now normally a mangy wolf wouldn’t be an issue, but with me taking care of the vampire that leaves the wolf to the others. I will most likely need Solaria’s help too since I cannot harm mist at all and fire can burn it, that leaves our first two strongest members on one guy while the others face someone just as strong. Any ideas?” –Mr. Absolute

(AN: If you haven’t figured it out yet, Mr. Absolute is also a genius and pretty much perfect in every way)

“I can just smash him to pieces!” –Barb

“That may work in general but Ted is clearly an alpha. They are as strong as the strongest Superman and have super fast regen. Sure you may match him in strength and speed, but can you end him. Your weapons are not made out of silver which is his only weakness. We will need a better plan.” –Nick

“Well what do you suggest. Obviously you have some idea of what might work.” –Mr. Absolute

“I think Barb attacking is still the best plan, only I have another step to the equation which may ensure success. After Barb has his attention we have Porter teleport on top of him and then teleport him back to our werewolf containment unit. That is, if we even have one? If not I will have to build one later as it will take more than a few hours and won’t be useful for this mission…” –Nick

“Techie made one so we can probably use that?” –Porter

“Yes, let’s go with that plan. Of the two, Ted should be less dangerous since his fleeing capabilities is less than the other not being able to phase through walls and stuff.” –Mr. Absolute

“Okay now that we have a plan I’m going to set the mind link up now so you all can communicate at any time. I have some stuff to take care of as I still need a suit. I also can’t keep this noncombatant status forever. I’m a Superman! There really is no excuse for me.” –Nick

“What about your Aura? It seems really low…” –Solaria

“Thanks for the concern love but I can fix that too… probably.” –Nick

‘Excellent, let’s start the mission now, don’t let them escape!’ –Mr. Absolute

With that the four of them disappeared with the help of Porter.

I hope Nick will be fine, it must be boring working all the time. He doesn’t even get free time to relax, he just works works works, building shit all day long. He better not have a girl on the side! When I get back if he hasn’t built the greatest device ever then that means he clearly has a girl on the side! I must find this girl and destroy her! –Solaria

Before Solaria can finish her inner tantrum Mr. Absolute gives his patented speech…

“Evildoers your time is nigh for Mr. Absolute is here to bring your reign of terror to an end!” –Mr. Absolute

“I know you are in there Ted and Vlad, come out and face your end!” –Barb

With that a sleepy werewolf and an immaculately dressed vampire slowly walk out. Not wasting any time a large flash goes off signifying an EMP has been discharged. This is definitely a trap! Afterwards they both split up and ran in different directions.

‘First the EMP, and now the splitting of us up. Fortunately we planned for this already. Let’s do this as planned, Solaria with me!’ –Mr. Absolute

‘Fine.’ –Solaria

Of course Mr. Absolute is no fool. He isn’t 100% sure what is up. But when a woman says “fine” they are absolutely not fine. Good thing he isn’t the one who triggered her yandere mode. He still remembers the last guy who did and is nowhere to be found… Clearly dead somewhere in a pile of ashes. It seems only he and Porter remembers this however…

I’m going to burn this guy into a crisp and then go find that bitch and burn her too! –Solaria

Being the two fastest in their team they swiftly catch up with Vlad and start to fight. Somehow Mr. Absolute gets him in his field. Maybe Vlad was just too cocky that he could escape or maybe he has some other trick up his sleeve, either way as soon as Mr. Absolute put Aura into the device that conveniently strapped on to his suit, Vlad was trapped and couldn’t leave the 15m Absolute zone. Oh he tried everything from bats to mist to simply slashing away at it with his claws, but none worked. He then went to attack Mr. Absolute which of course was a terrible idea as he is at least twice as strong as the second strongest person in the entire world while in this field. After a few seconds of pummeling Vlad and seeing him regenerate Mr. Absolute make sure he is in position.

‘Do it now Solaria, burn him to a crisp!’ –Mr. Absolute

‘Done.’ –Solaria

Again with the one word answers. This even made Mr. Absolute sweat, something he doesn’t remember the last time he did. Oh wait, yes he remembers now. It was the last time Solaria got like this.

With a bit blazing inferno the whole Absolute realm goes up in flames. Mr. Absolute feeling pretty good since that fire isn’t directed at him. Sure he is getting burnt but he is stronger than her so her flames can’t kill him. Which of course is the real problem here. Her flames can only destroy that which is weaker than her 4.5 Aura.

“KAHKAHKAHKAHKAH! You cannot defeat me with your pathetic flames. I’m not just A Master Vampire. I am Thee Master Vampire!” –Vlad

“Tsk.” –Solaria

‘Fuck, our mission is a fail. How are things on your end?’ –Mr. Absolute

‘Barb just made contact and is engaged, waiting on opportune moment, standby.’ –Porter

‘Arrrrrrg!’ –Barb

‘Barb, what happened did it work? We can’t hear Porter anymore.’ –Mr. Absolute

‘No, and you will have company soon while I regenerate my arms.’ –Barb

Before Mr. Absolute and inquiry further he sees the fire stop and Solaria plastered into the wall. He sees Ted sniff the air twice, twitch his head to the side, then charge in front of him before he could react. Destroying the device attached to his suit and grabbing Vlad and leaving. This happened so fast that Mr. Absolute for the first time in ages started to yell.

‘WHAT HAPPENED!!!!’ –Mr. Absolute

‘I don’t know, one minute I’m throwing fires the next I’m in this wall over here. Fortunately he is weak so I’m not even hurt, just lost my concentration is all.’ –Solaria

This calms Mr. Absolute down instantly as he sees Solaria is back to normal meaning all is not lost.

‘I can explain. Ted is much stronger than we thought. His senses are too strong for the plan we had. He was playing around with me and waited until Porter got close before he got serious. He instantly knocks Porter out and starts to fight seriously relieving me of my two arms. Fortunately they grow back so no harm done, but Porter is still out cold.’ –Barb

‘Nick, are you getting all of us? Any ideas?’ –Mr. Absolute

‘Yes, I just finished the project I was working on and went over all the chatter just now and have come up with a hypothesis. Well it is obvious why Solaria was not able to burn Vlad. As the strongest of his race his Power should much you outside of your Absolute zone, meaning he must be considered a target with a 5.0 Aura score. This leads to my conjecture that Ted is in the similar boat. Alphas gain strength from those under them. If he is the #1 Alpha in the world then likewise his power level should also be around 5.0 Aura score.’ –Nick

‘Ouch, what happened? Why does my head hurt?’ –Porter

‘Good, you are back, grab Barb and come get me and Solaria and take us back to base. We won’t need this mind link once we get there. Also I hope whatever you made Nick is good and will help us end these guys.’ –Mr. Absolute

Glad I got my shit done in time. Or rather already had it done ahead of time in case a situation like this came up. It is important for evil geniuses to have a backup plan after all. No one can know how strong I am! This is the first rule! -Nick

Back in the command center there is an even more pissed off Barb and a seemingly happy Solaria (she sees Nick only had time to do work and not cheat on her). Fortunately Barb is all healed up and Porters headache is gone meaning even though they failed, no one got hurt and thus they are still at 100% fighting capacity.

“Nick what do you have that can turn you into a combatant?” –Mr. Absolute

“It’s my hero suit. I designed it to work with my Aura specifically to boost it by 2, watch.” –Nick

Nick having already put on his suit which is made with the base black with green designs all over it. The black matches his hair and the green his eyes. Oddly it doesn’t have a helm, the suit almost looks like it requires one but with his good looks he pulls off not having one flawlessly. After a moment two lights show up on the suit (green of course) and supers around the room finally feel an Aura coming off of Nick. Solaria is first to notice how strong it is since it feels exactly as strong as the Aura Sonic Clash was emitting. Before anyone can speak Nick floats off the ground using only Aura to show his superiority (it requires at least an Aura of 3.0 to fly using just Aura).

“*SQUEAL* You did it Nick. Your Aura is a 4.0 now!” –Solaria

“Huh, sure it feels to be around that level, but how can you tell it has an exact 4.0 Aura?” –Mr. Absolute

“Hey just because I’m pretty doesn’t mean I’m dumb. He is exactly as strong as Sonic Clash and our database says he has a 4.0 Aura.” –Solaria

“She is correct. My normal weak Aura has been boosted to 4.0 using this suit meaning with my telekinesis I should be able to fight in the front lines no problem.” –Nick

“Excellent news, can you make any more of these suits for the rest of us?” –Mr. Absolute

“Hum… Just to make this one required me to have an intimate knowledge of my own Aura, I’m not sure I could make any for the rest of you…” –Nick

Wait, I actually have the math down, and the necessary knowledge of Solaria’s Aura. I could actually do that. –Nick

“Wait! I can make one for Solaria since I have an intimate knowledge of her Aura. I have all my tools here now so I’ll get right on that.” –Nick

“Excellent, with that our mission today is done. We will meet again tomorrow for our next step. If the suit works then we can use a similar plan for Vlad and use Nick himself to help fight Ted. Maybe he has more tricks up his sleeve that only work for him.” –Mr. Absolute

Damn it seems Mr. Absolute has an keen eye. I guess I’ll have to get serious tomorrow. I’ll use a lightsaber that emits a silver plasma blast to deal with him, he won’t even see it coming MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Also why do I feel like I just dodged a massive bullet? –Nick

“*SNEEZE*” –Solaria

“Bless you my love.” –Nick

New mystery characters start showing up in the next few chapters. Will Nick survive his next harem victim? Or rather, will she survive Solaria! No one knows MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
