Chapter 4 Are Normal Mushrooms That Big
Looming overhead was a giant cloud in the form of a mushroom.
Ferret that had just woken up was still in shock from the experience “What kind of spell was that” he muttered to himself.
As soon as Ferret felt he could walk he stood up from the cold forest ground. Looking around he realized he was lost.
“I must have been knocked out good” he thought to himself
But Ferret quickly saw a massive cloud in the sky and figured out rather quickly that it was coming from his house. Ferret, not in a hurry, decided to walk normally towards his cozy house.
As he was walking through the massive forest he felt that something was watching him from the trees. “Hello” he yelled out to the treetops. Then out of nowhere a squirrel appeared behind one of the trees.
The squirrel jumped from the top of the tree but still managed to land softly on the ground.
“Hello, you are a hamster?” The squirrel asked in a curious tone.
“That might be correct”
“I need your help my mom is gone and i can't find her and also my house is being invaded by a beast and you look capable so will you help me”
“That's a lot at once”
Ferret froze up and thought about what to do.
On one hand his house is most likely gone but also helping others is a nice thing to do, but his wife is also alone in the woods.
“How urgent is it?” Ferret asked
“Very,” The squirrel said firmly.
“Fine i'll try to help, but first your name.”
“Shew”
“Shew?”
“It's short for cashew. My mom really loved nuts”
“I see. well i could help you but my wife is still missing, and i really need to find her”

“I will help you find your wife if you help me find my mom”
“Deal”
“Lead the way,” Ferret said as he started walking in a direction.
Shew just looked at him and said “It's this way”
The two unlikely companions ventured deeper into the forest.
“So how come you live in the forest”
“Firstly I'm a squirrel and also I like it here. It's cozy. But today I could not sleep. There was a loud boom noise from the tiny hut on the outskirts.”
“Well that might have been my house”
“Interesting” Shew said while looking behind them towards the mushroom shaped cloud.
“So Shew, what does your mom look like?”
“Oh uh….. like me but a little bit bigger”
The two walked for a good hour before Shew said “It's here the last time i saw her”
“i'll start looking” Ferret said while scanning his surroundings
But it all looked the same to Ferret, just trees and rocks everywhere. How could he find a missing squirrel in this environment? He could still feel Shew's gaze at his neck from behind.
“aren't you going to look?”
Shew quickly turned around “of course it’s my mom after all”
After another hour of searching Ferret had found nothing, except a plate with food that he decided to ignore because Ferret is no thief.
“How is it going Ferret?” Shew asked.
“not very good”
All Ferret had found was a plate with an exquisite dish on top.
“Well I did find food randomly on a rock.
“You did? Why did you not eat it?”
“it's probably someone else's”
“It's fine, show me where. i'm hungry”
Shew and Ferret made their way towards where Ferret had previously found the magnificent dish.
Ferret picked it up and handed it to Shew, “here you said you were hungry” Shew reluctantly took the plate into his paws. “Thanks but don't you want a bite? I don't know if I can eat all of it.”

Thinking about it Ferret had not eaten since the day when he left for the store. But Ferret thought of himself as compassionate.
“I'll take what's left when you are done with it” He said, believing that he was doing a good deed.
“I insist” Shew said, visibly frustrated.
“Weird” Ferret thought, it's almost like he wants me to eat it”
“I can manage”
“I promise it will be delicious” Shew said, now even more frustrated.
“Ah, so it's yours? Ferret asked a bit confused as to why it took Shew this long to just say it was his food.
“Yes it is now here have some”
Ferret could of course not refuse such an offer, he immediately took the food that was offered to him and ate it. Feeling full, Ferrer sat down. “I’ll start searching again in a bit”
“You do that, I'll wait right here” Shew said with a bit of sadness in his voice.
Ferret got confused as to why Shew would be sad, wait did he eat too much maybe he should apologize.
“Shew, I'm sorry if……” Ferret suddenly became light headed as he stumbled around before falling to the ground. With a thud, Ferret hit the soft ground of the quiet forest.
“I'm sorry for this” Shew said before Ferret lost consciousness.
