《Seekers of the Uncharted》Chapter 1- When you gaze into the abyss…

On a seemingly normal day, a weird scene occurred in a farm. A boy, asleep with a quite grim expression between a tree and a grave being constantly hit on the chest by an ‘Annoyed Flying Object’.
Sixteen years of life… From birth to your first steps, from your first words to your first dish, from your first experience being love to the first time losing someone precious. Is it really possible to ignore all that and think it was all just a lie, a fleeting dream? Well, it only took Eiron the length of a dream to doubt his own existence.
‘I lost my mother from birth, and instead of receiving compensation I got a da*n curse, I didn’t have a single friend and those I once thought I had were my old bullies, I got stolen from an old man while trying to save my old man who finally died… This can’t be real, definitely a third rated drama that self-gained consciousness… Yes that’s right…’
‘But it pains… Why does my heart aches so much?’ ‘At the end all this is true. I should follow my old man’s advice and build my own path.’
‘The Beyonders, hmm…’
“But why the heck is my chest aching so much!” Eiron shouted while waking up.
After regaining all his wits, the first thing Eiron did after a lengthy moment of panic was to kick off the drone from his chest.
‘‘What the hell was that perverted thing trying to do to me?” Eiron muttered.
“Here is Unit BBC721, do you get me? You are requested to report your situation to your superior.”
‘This sh*ts can talk? And what is he blabbing?’ Eiron thought dumbfounded.
“I repeat…”
“I…”
‘Okay if I get all right it thinks I’m a Beyonder and wants me to meet my ‘superior’.’
“And how far is my superior actually located?” Eiron asked hopeful it wasn’t too far.
“3000 km east but he is predicted to arrive at 14 km west in around 4 hours.” The drone replied directly.
“Hmm… wait here for a while.”
Eiron ran back to his little house and got completely dressed in his usual leather dresses, he shoved some food and water in his pouch with two black sunglasses he collected just in case.

He put on his sturdiest shoes, another black sunglass and went back to the stop where he left the drone.
The circular drone, one meter wide, almost too flat and floating in the air like it defied gravity was reminiscent of a mini-UFO.
It waited silently on the spot without going a single centimeter away.
“Can you adapt to my walking speed?”
“Affirmative.” The drone replied directly.
“So let’s go” Eiron said before taking off with the perverted drone.
They took a quite dangerous road infested with wild beasts but fortunately, the drone could easily make barbecue out of them and the journey wasn’t that unpleasant.
The sky was blue and the grass fields spread endlessly to the horizon.
Eiron couldn’t even remember the number of herbivores they saved and the plants they doomed.
He stopped for a while because his body was still too stiff from sleeping in the grass. He felt bad since he neglected his father’s last wish for him to take care of himself and also because those mosquitoes were quite hungry bastards. After thirty minutes of rest, he stood up and realized from the scenery that their destination may be the ruined city.
For the first time, he really admired its sights not to different from the relic cities his father once told him about. The buildings were actually quite well arrange and their crumbling made the scene even more picturesque. The mold and grass on the buildings called for adventures and discoveries while the road network looked like a giant spider’s web.
After being rushed once more by the ‘lady’ drone or so thought Eiron to stay optimistic about the situation, he kept walking toward the city.
Later that day, a drone and a teen boy wearing sunglasses on a cloudy day were spotted in town making the inhabitants weary.
‘That is actually quite weird’ thought Eiron while looking at the kids playing around the drones without realizing he was probably the most out of place there.
After entering the city, Eiron was left by himself while the drone went back to her normal occupations after finishing her mission.
‘Here we go’ Eiron thought. ‘I’ll finally be able to see a Beyonder’ ‘Let’s first just observe how their character is.’ Eiron naively thought.

But were to meet him or her he had no idea, at least before the drones started tidying up the main road and crumbled buildings debris around.
“Making an old quarter look neat suddenly for an important personality. You youngsters may not know that. An art that goes beyond times and species. I just hope we will survive or only I will do ha-ha.” Said a senile sounding voice.
“You?!” Eiron exclaimed after recognizing the old man who robe him his fruits the last time they met.
“I sold your information and am giving you some now for free, that’s a totally fair trade kid.”
Eiron didn’t answer because he knew the old geezer was somehow right and no one forced him back then anyway.
More and more peoples settled down on the pavements curious of what would happen. For most of them, it would be their first time seeing one of those who took away the work for generations. Radical elderly[1] just wanted to know by who in case they were all killed to haunt his/her soul while Eiron was stressed because he knew very well he came for him but couldn’t lose this opportunity.
Around an hour later, a jet like engine landed on the city square. It was completely ink black and gave a dynamic feeling with its sharp and reclined ailerons.
The man who came out gave off a noble feeling while actually being average looking at best. His pale skin and sharp eyes were reminiscent of a scholar. His eyes were completely white, a Beyonder. The Beyonder’s gigantic height gave Eiron the proof he wasn’t one of them. The thin man should have been around two point five meters tall. He was too far from the common monstrous description of the Beyonders if not for his white eyes, stupefying most of the viewers.
‘’’Maybe…maybe we can live through this.’’’ Most of the elderly and adults thought.
He slowly but gently walked across the paved road with a somehow lacking dignity befitting a ruler.
Suddenly while passing near Eiron, he turned his head and smiled at him. Some may be attracted by his confident smile but only Eiron could know… that deep stare transpiercing his glasses giving him a feeling of nudity, like all his life and thoughts were exposed.
‘Abandon yourself into me.’ His stare seemed to say. But even being conscious of that wasn’t enough to shift off Eiron from that gaze. Only after he went away did Eiron regained his senses and thought ‘that was definitely the abyss… no an ocean of knowledge.’
The man got away soon after that and all the leftover attention was gathered around Eiron, especially from the young boys.
“He is surely related to those craps that think they are over us and if not he should have some food and goodies on him.” A thug shouted
‘Sh*t’ Eiron thought.
Before long, he was surrounded by a whole gang, they were all dressed in old haggy clothes and had a dubious buccal hygiene.
He punched the weakest looking one in the stomach and started running away. Arriving at the city’s exit, even the common populace seemed to be blocking him.
“Da*n it catch him!”
He tried shaking them off with his leaner physic but was eventually forced to go back in town to look for a hide since he was still a little exhausted from the walk to town.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t hide from the thugs in their own city and was soon encircled in an old store’s building.
“Here we go for a little punishment.” The weakest looking thug said with a sneer.
‘bam’ ’puhak’ ’bam’
The beating he received made him nostalgic of two years ago when he was still living in the community with Bob and the ‘bros’ making a light smile appear on his face.
The moment his glasses broke, the situation degraded from a casual beating to a deathly situation.
Thugs, small kids, everyone and some without even knowing why... A thin tread finally snapped in Eiron… His bond with the human kind.
While losing consciousness, all he could hear was the sound of peoples screaming with an intense ‘Bzz’ sound in the background.
[1] Elderly here refers to people between forty and fifty years old.

The Cyclical Nature of Time
A girl’s life ends unexpectedly early, or so it would seem. Instead of eternal nothingness, she wakes up in an empty valley with no clue how she got there. Taking her predicament in stride, she sets out to do something about it. Unfortunately for her, the first couple of people she meets aren’t much help. They claim they haven’t heard of electricity and dress as if they were on a break from their job at a Viking-themed amusement park. MC is a somewhat normal girl. She's pragmatic and not very angsty. The story is tagged with anti-hero, but to be clear, she is not a villain. She does good if she can, she just isn't morally motivated to do so. The story starts out smelling of fantasy but will eventually shift towards sci-fi. It contains some supernatural elements and has a strong lead, but it is not your usual power trip. Expect a story that takes its time, but not to the point where entire chapters are spent on mindless chit-chat. I’m not into that. This is my first serious attempt at writing and I've learnt a lot writing this. Unfortunately, that shows. Chapter 1-10 is slow and rather pointless. Things get better, but it is not until chapter 25 or so that I began understanding how to structure chapters and to make them support the larger story. I publish about 3000 words a week (every sunday) but I write about 10000 words a week. Sticking to that pace, which is easy, the last chapter will be out by July.
