《Slayer of Kings》Chapter 18 - Atomic Water Manual

When Leo reached the ground level the one-armed man was waiting for him but he said nothing.
Leo wanted to train the three techniques now, but for that, he needed to find a water source "Where is the nearest water source?" Leo asked the man.
"From the gate head east you will find a river," Said the man as he put back the piece of the floor he had taken out before.
Leo left the place after getting the information he needed, but before he could go he had to stop the growling in his stomach.
After leaving the deserted part of town using the old cracked roads, he searched for five minutes until he found a restaurant. It had walls made of bricks with cream color paint over them, unlike the wooden construction of the village.
The restaurant was almost full but there were still seats available. Leo sat in one of those seats and on the wooden circular table was a piece of paper held in place with wood that covered its sides like a frame. In it were many dishes written in a much better handwriting than the one in the village.
After looking through the entire menu Leo ordered rice with curry because it was a dish that had similarities to his old world.
After 10 minutes of waiting both the dishes arrived. The rice was white, hot and rather sticky while the curry was light brown and spicy, which was something he really liked. Both the dishes complimented each other really well.
The total came to 15 silver, which was cheap. From what he saw in the restaurant rice was a dish that almost everyone ate, but mainly by the people with below average income.
---
Leo arrived at the location after 20 minutes of travel towards the east of the town gate. There were no beasts in the area as all of them got killed by people from the organization so the journey was safe and easy.

The sky had a few clouds as most of it was empty the sun shined brightly up there while the hot winds blew from the north. The sides of the river were made up of rocks. The water was calm as the sky. Leo could see the small fishes swimming through the clear water.
Leo was not the only one in the area there were three others as well who were practicing using the river. When Leo arrived, they momentarily opened their eyes to look at this unfamiliar face, but after that, they went back to their training.
Leo found a big boulder to sit near the river bank. It was big and flat enough at the top that a person could sit on top.
Leo removed the two light blue threads that held the scroll together. When he opened the scroll, there was the words 'Atomic Water Manual' written in bold and black.
Then below it, the words were normal it read 'To be one with water is to be one with nature. Water is not just present in rivers, oceans, and lakes it is present everywhere in nature. From the morning dew that lingers on the leaves to the water absorbed by the sand after rain. It is even present inside the human body.'
'To start, find a water source, then close your eyes and point the palm of your hand towards the water source now envision yourself absorbing it and the Crystal will follow. The key lies in the vision that is created in the mind. Split the water into two, one being 'Pure Essence' while the other being 'Pure Element'. The Crystal can only absorb the Essence but that same Essence consists of water, hence the absorption rate will be much faster. The key is to envision yourself absorbing these two things simultaneously.'

'So this is like an introduction for making the absorption of water more efficient,' Thought Leo, however, he did not understand how much faster the rate of absorption would increase if he used this as he had never tried to absorb Essence without this method. This was more like a 'trick' than a method for making the rate of absorption faster and efficient.
Does this apply to other elements as well? Leo wondered. The chances of other elements also being able to do this were high this further strengthen the possibility of this being a 'trick' rather than a method.
The next title read 'Control Over Water.'
'To increase the control over water it has to be split into tiny particles. Water like everything in the world that contains matter except the Essence consists of tiny particles called 'Atoms' that cannot be seen with the naked eye. The key is to control these particles and splitting them into parts this reduces the stress placed on the mind. So instead of controlling the water, the key is to control the Atoms that make up water.'
'To change the shape of water into an object first think of an object then break it into atomic particles after that combine it with the atomic particles of water.'
'Use the 'Enchantment' in the scroll to increase the control over water.' Enchantment? Leo read nothing about it in the book. The scroll said to use it, but how? Should he use his Crystal? Many questions came up in his mind and the only way to find answers was to train. The only logical answer was to use his Crystal to trigger the 'Enchantment'.
After reading the contents of the scroll Leo jumped down from the boulder with the scroll in his hands and walked into the river until his ankles got submerged.
Leo closed his eyes with his palms facing the river. He had never seen this so-called Essence before the only things he could think of that would have a connection to the Essence was the black mist that his Crystal released and also the dark blue mist absorbed by the Crystal when he killed the assassin who tried to kill Mia. Leo was not sure if the two fell under the Essence category or if they were something else.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
