《Undetermined》Chapter 40- Proposal

After Ashley had finished laughing, Trevor and Samantha looked at each other.
They too began to laugh, quietly and calmly.
They were getting used to insanity.
Garett, however, was looking around.
He scanned the surroundings, and viewed the scene of craters everywhere from the vast amount of fireballs Ashley had put out. He was quite surprised that the cave was still in tact, and that a cave in had not occurred.
That was when he noticed something.
The abyss was a large circle. There were some tunnels that were far up the walls. These tunnels would be inaccessible without the ability to either fly or crawl up the walls.
Aside from that, there seemed to be no way out.
This was problematic.
They did not have much food. They had some leftovers from the Earth Burrowers, but that was it. All the spiders had been completely incinerated, and trying to harvest meat from those sacs of larvae would be questionable at best even if they were still intact.
However, Garett noticed a small alcove a few hundred meters away from him.
"Is that somewhere we could go?"
Ashley was still quietly giggling to herself, but she seemed to have... somewhat calmed down.
The look on her face was still that of an insane woman, but Garett thought it was a bit cute in a way.
"Let me see", Trevor said, as he looked over to the area that Garett pointed at.
Using his [Track enemies] skill, Trevor looked surprised.
"There are survivors over there... well, that area doesn't seem to be effected by the blast, so it isn't that the enemies are strong enough to survive that attack... thank goodness... if there were enemies here strong enough to survive that, we would be in quite the pinch... but even so, we should approach with caution. You never know how strong the creatures of this world might be."

And so, the antiheroes started walking over to the alcove.
Garett thought he heard some shouts or screams. It sounded like someone was really pissed off, but he blew it off as his imagination and kept walking.
Soon enough, the antiheroes had arrived. They took a peek inside, and suddenly heard a 'tick tick tick' sound as something ran up.
"Is this an enemy attack!?"
Trevor readied his bow and Garett bared his club.
When the light of the small fire on Ashley's finger shone on the creature in front of her, it revealed two bowing... spiders?
"Please do not kill us, oh great ones!", one of them stated.
There were two creatures. Their faces had the skin and hair of humans, but the features of spiders. They had four eyes and fanged teeth. They had three pairs of arms, the top pair which was completely covered with what looked to be bandages made of silk. As a matter of fact, they looked to be wearing these bandages as outfits. They were strewn together almost like a mummy, and formed what could be considered either a long shirt or a short dress. Not only did they seem to be an excessively long shirt, but they also had sleeves which were far too long for the arms in which they covered, and the sleeves of the shirt drooped down completely covering the upper pair of arms. The lower two pairs of arms stuck out from the bandage-shirts, and they were long and thin insectoid arms. These creatures also were bowing down on two large tarantula like legs.
There seemed to be a male and a female. The male had hair that was spiked up into a large hairdo, and the female had hair that resembled ribbons or strands of bandages. The hair of the male was black and the hair of the female was white, resembling the silk of the shirt she wore.

"Wait. Don't attack these guys. We might be able to use them."
The calm voice who spoke was Ashley.
"I agree. You two need to calm down."
Samantha shot an annoyed glare at Trevor, who held his bow taut.
Ashley walked up to the two.
"You two... can understand what we are saying, right? You aren't just monsters like the others... am I wrong? Hmmmmm???"
The male slowly raised his head and struggled to get words out.
The female then spoke.
"We... we are a humanoid breed of the spider species. Please, we beg of you to have mercy and spare us the fate which you have imposed on our foolish siblings!"
"Hoh?? You two certainly are well mannered.", Garett stated, as he lowered his club.
Ashley grinned.
"I have a proposal. Why don't we allow these poor spiders to become our slaves in exchange for our protection. Surely, without a mother and siblings you will need someone to back you? Am I wrong?"

Unto Dark
A man of cripplingly ill mind, bridled with the spirits and regrets of the past. Wade Pierce trudges through each day of his monochrome existence, only as penance for his sins. Such a man is abruptly decamped of this world courtesy of unapologetic forces, left stranded in a realm filled with unknowns. Armed only with his potent yet fragile intellect, Wade advances into this new abyss, as he attempts to rewrite the wrongs he has committed. Plagued by vile beasts, self-righteous Gods, and even his own seething darkness, the cracks in his mind begin to spread and a dangerous, newfound power bubbles beneath the surface. As the world grows darker day by day, this unfortunate journey begins ------------ I suppose rectitude dictates that I should state any themes worthy of noting here. First of all, this story is not a sunshiny one in the slightest. Since it is listed under the psychological and mature tag and not the comedy tag, that shouldn't be a surprise. Next, morbidity is a factor and general apathy towards human life. All of these are common themes amongst other writers, so nothing new there. The story also contains consensual, and non-consensual sexual activity, although I have tried to be as tasteful as is possible for someone like myself. Finally, the pace is drawn-out, and the language is magniloquent at times. Not to mention, the chapters are quite lengthy. Don't expect to read this halfheartedly... Other than that, enjoy the story... There's nothing more important than that...

Will Barry and his friends adapt to the new meta 'fight tooth and nail to survive'? or Will they succumb to the endless mysteries of the universe? Who is this Trevor guy we keep hearing about? About the Novel Decimation - end of world Mortism - is a concept, where understanding of life is better after experiencing death Fitting title for my story i suppose. I like having quirky titles for my chapters. They may sometimes have spoilers and twists, beware. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About author: I am new to writing stuff in general. I will probably have lots of grammar mistakes since English is not my first language. I am writing as a hobby. I release atleast one chapter a week. I planned volume 1 to be about 60-70 pages in my google doc. Character inspiration from myself. I literally have a brain that does not shut up. I do enjoy a lot of novels here especially : savage divinity and paladian. The cover page is my own design. I am happy with it, but feel free to suggest/show something better. I will try to do an art of my characters, especially Trevor, so you guys can also see what I see. But that will take a while. In the meantime, keep reading!
