《Jormungandr's calamity》Book 1: Chapter 13 : Night is dangerous (1)

I had just left the clearing and what I saw shocked me. Indeed I had the impression of being in a totally different world: the earth had become arid and it sheltered monsters, each one more horrible than the others.
But it wasn't this new environment that disturbed me but the fact that I wasn't even in the deserts of the South that the environment was already like that.
"Looks like my life is going to be on the line even before I get there. "
Deserts will be the place where I will be strong the fastest because I won't be able to use my secret card. There is very little water in these places, for this characteristic I have to go there because if I just rely on my venom if I face someone who is immune to it or in a place where there is no water I will have a huge disadvantage. So I must learn to fight without it. I started crawling around looking for shelter for the night but no luck I found, so I was going to spend the night outside at last without shelter.
But I had no idea the night was so dangerous. Indeed creatures whose existence I could not have imagined left their shelter to hunt for prey during this time.
"Well, the sky had just darkened and I couldn't find shelter, great for my first adventure but at least I'd get closer to my goal because there was no way I could sleep in a place like this without some kind of protection."
So I started to crawl to the bottom of these places and I noticed that I was finding less and less green plants. Finally, after 40 minutes of walking, I couldn't see anything in front of me anymore because before I could see small groves but there it was just a huge desert expanse.

"Looks like I'm slowly approaching, very slowly, but I'm moving forward. "
But as I continued my journey, I heard a sound of chewing in the distance, it was as if bones were being broken with hammers, and there I saw them. Humanoid beings in a state of putrefaction. They were reddish in color and had a body unattainable for the average person.
Their muscles weren't big enough to impede their movements. Indeed they merged power and explosiveness for each attack they will throw at their opponent. I noticed that they had enormous claws and canines that could shred the toughest metal. It wasn't the most frightening thing about them, I could see that their tendon was just growing and shrinking before my eyes.
That's what scared me the most because I had two guesses, either it was to allow them to have instantaneous movement at very high speed or it meant they could extend their tendon, either way, it was both of these things were bad news for me.
Author for those who want a clearer description, imagine the fusion of putrefaction of the Witcher and a raptor of Dying Light and small question for the bestiary want me to grant an auxiliary chapter for each monster so you will have much more information about them. Let me know if you'd prefer that.
I had to flee because I might be able to take one, but there's no way I can get out unscathed if I fight them because I don't know their capabilities. As I was about to run away, I immediately stopped.
"I'm not going to run away at the first danger because if I do that I might as well go back to my parents because my journey will bring me nothing if I just run away every time there is something dangerous. I'm not saying you shouldn't run when you are near a dangerous thing but sometimes you have to face situations of extreme danger to exceed your limits. "

As I was about to venture out, I remembered that I had Jormi's help.
Me: "Jormi I need your help.
Jormi: What do you need?
Me: Could you give me the weakness of the monster that stands before me.
Jormi: He doesn't really have any.
Me; What do you mean?
Jormi: They can attack from a distance and can regenerate themselves, and I'm not talking about their extraordinary strength.
Me: So I can't defeat them?
Jormi: I think you overestimated yourself a bit too much because with the level you have now you couldn't even take one so three is a no dream. By the time you've attacked, you'll already be dead."
I was not as powerful as I thought I was, I understood now why they could move around in the night without being afraid because they could defend themself. No, wait, he said the moment you attack, why not the moment they see me.
Jormi: You're smart enough to have noticed that you have all my respect and you're both right and wrong at the same time, they would like to attack you but how can you do it if they don't see you.
Me: They are blind?
Jormi: Yes they can only spot you if you make noise, so you just have to be quiet. They also can find you with your smell but impossible in the desert to use this sens because the wind is too strong and carries too much different smell so they will not be able to spot you thanks to that.
Me: Phew, so I scared myself for nothing. I was relieved.
Jormi: Don't slacken off like that because you have to make noise when you crawl because of the rubbing of your scales with the sand so you have to try to find another solution that I can give you.
Me: Don't try to be mysterious because if I lose my life, you too will be finished. It would be sad if you were the only one of your kind again, don't you think?
Jormi: You don't even want to have fun. All right, you just need to generate a sound wave powerful enough to shut their hearing for a few seconds.
Me: You tell me this as if it were so simple, but how am I supposed to achieve something like that?
Jormi: It's simple to take a deep breath and make the snakes communication noise and these monsters will hear a huge SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS that will make their eardrums go out of order for a short period of time but be careful because even if you manage to sow them this noise could bring back even more dangerous monsters.
Me : I have nothing to lose. " So I put myself at a decent distance and took a huge breath and bim "SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
We could hear the roar of thunder I was very proud of the noise I had just made and as expected, they twisted in all directions to try to regain their hearing. I had just passed before them that one of them attack me by stretching his arm but he failed and they suddenly started to chase me but immediately afterward they fled.
Me: "That only means one thing and that is that there is a being far more powerful than them in front of me."
I moved forward to understand what it was, but I felt like a primal, prehistoric aura, the closer I got to it the more powerful I feel it and finally I saw the being that gives me this feeling.
It was...

A World Forgotten
***This story will contain lite-litrpg elements, mainly character pages and a town page. There will also be settlement building and adventuring, missteps and achievements. But one thing it definitely won’t have is a harem. Nor will it have an overpowered MC. Contains mild cursing.*** ***feel free to critique my writing and offer input. This is my first venture into writing. I've always enjoyed litrpg/gamelit books. I feel like I write how I talk, so it may be a little different. You won't hurt my feelings if you see something wrong or out of place! *** ***What follows is a condensed part of chapter 1. Enjoy!*** Drew Cooper is thrust into a new, unfamiliar world. Waking up in his sweats and t-shirt near what seems to be a forgotten path through some woods, he struggles coming to terms that he's no longer in his apartment. As he tries to cope with his new reality, he hears a horse coming down the path. He hides behind a nearby tree dreading what may happen next. As the horse approaches, he sees a man walking next to it. The horse is burdened with packs and gear. When the man nears, Drew nearly panics. He has a large sword strapped to his waist, obviously a fighter. He continues to hide as the man slowly passes only for the man to stop a dozen meters past his hiding spot. "You may as well come out, ya know. You weren't as well hidden as you thought," the man stated matter-of-factly, letting the horse’s reins go and putting his hand on the hilt of his sword. Slowly and scared for his life, Drew raised up and walked from behind the tree. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't planning on attacking you. I-I don't know where I am. I heard your horse and hid. I didn't know what you'd do if you saw me. I'm sorry," he nervously blurted out. A minute passed. Then two. The man seemed interested with Drew and stepped closer, eyes squinting as if trying to see something. "What's that on your shirt? Is that. What is that? Is that, Pac-man?" The man was visibly shaken while pointing at me. Looking down at his t-shirt nervously, "Yea. Yea. I woke up here a few hours ago I think. 3 maybe 4 hours. I’ve just been sitting here. Where am I? What's going on?" Drew asked. "That's not important right now," the man replied. " What's important is where you're from. What year is it?" "What year? April something 2020. Why? What's going on?" Drew continued now worried. The man was taken aback. After a few moments, he seemed to calm himself some. The man sighed and looked at Drew in earnest. "Well, I've got good news and bad news for ya. Bad news is you're not on Earth anymore. Good news is you happened to run into me and not someone else. You’re either really lucky, or it’s fate we met in these woods, and I don’t believe in luck." The man continued to walk towards Drew while talking and put out his hand. "I'm John Mitchell from St. Louis or thereabouts. You’ve got nothing to be scared of by me. Walk with me and let’s talk."

I lived in India from 1984-2005, and wrote to my parents regularly about my adventures in Indian ashrams. From 1984-1993 and again 2001-2005, I was living in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, and I am adding all of those my "Letters from India" book, which will mainly be of interest to those familiar with Prasanthi Nilayam, the ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. However, from 1994-2001 I was staying at a wonderfully spiritual, quiet retreat called Shanti Ashram, and I am putting the letters I wrote to my parents while staying there, on this book. The ashram was a dream come true for sadhana. The people are welcoming, it is usually never crowded, and they offer separate cottages to aspirants. The rates are donation basis only.
