《Lucky SP》Chapter 10 - Basics of Meta-force

Lucky, Zero, and Marian held the green snake-skin paper talisman in their hands. "You can't use meta-force properly until you feel it personally. This Agie talisman can help transfer some of my meta-force to you all." Mr. Devlit formed a sign with his hands coated in meta-force. "Spirit Technique: Talisman Release" Small threads of meta-force extended from his hands and touched the talismans in each of their hand. The talisman burned up and red-black meta-force surged to cover Zero, Marian, and Lucky's bodies completely. It looked like their entire bodies were covered in an aura of dark-red blood. But Lucky felt completely at ease. It was as if he was relaxing in a warm bath. Lucky closed his eyes and focused on the feeling. He instinctively moved his arms and legs to perform movements and poses as the meta-force flowed. Lucky was deep in a meditative state. He started to channel the meta-force in an instinctive way. His gene's burst out in joy as the meta-force passed through them, running along a circuit. Mr. Devlit was silently watching the three boys while he fed energy into their bodies with the thin connections. He checked his watch. "Meta-force technique: Mood Accommodation" Zero muttered while in meditation. Zzzzttt A wave of red-black meta-force burst out from Zero. Instantly, everyone's mental state calmed into a state of meditation. Mr. Devlit's eyes lit up. He found someone like himself. Someone who had a meta-force circuit in their genes. Zero had high potential to grow as a metusor. Marian and Lucky both felt a wave of energy pass over them. It penetrated through their minds and calmed them. "Meta-force technique: Quarter Manifest" Lucky muttered. Swwwiiiissshhhhhh Meta-force left his body and gathered behind him. It formed a virtual image of Lucky, but he looked different. He had metallic bronze hair, and his 5 colored tally mark had changed to only a single metallic bronze tally. His palms contained circular tattoos with intricate writing and his skin was tanned bronze. After the the image formed, it drifted down and merged with Lucky. His skin changed to a tanned bronze. His hands had deeply intricate circular patterns on them. His hair changed to bronze and had a metallic sheen to it. The tally mark under his eye was changed to a single bronze one. Lucky opened his eyes slowly. Mr. Devlit had his mouth hanging open in disbelief. 'Two of these kids have meta-force gene circuits?' He looked over Lucky's new form. Then watched Marian, anticipating his results. Marian opened his eyes and looked at Zero, then Lucky. "What the hell?" Marian cursed after seeing Lucky's new appearance. Lucky laughed slightly. He looked over the tattoos on his palms. He circulated meta-force through his veins and into the tattoo. It glowed a dark-red. "Meta-force technique: Enforce Manifest" The air around Luck's palm constricted. A metallic blob fell into his hand. Lucky played with it a bit in his fingers. It moulded like play-dough and wasn't strong. Thirty seconds later, the technique was released and the metallic blob disappeared. Lucky felt that this Enforce Manifest Technique could change what he touched to its strongest form or weakest. Since his palms were near the particles in the air, they had been strengthened and condensed in to a weird pliable metal. Mr. Devlit had a dumbfounded look on his face. "You kid, how the hell do you have more than one meta-force circuit in your body. This is impossible!" Even Mr. Devlit couldn't help but curse at the absurdity of the situation. Lucky shook his head. "No Mr. Devlit, I feel this is part of my Quarter Manifest Technique. It isn't different." Lucky undid his transformation and he reverted back to his usual appearance. The five mark tally reappeared on his cheek. Mr. Devlit raised his eyebrows. 'The tattoo looks like a spirit circuit tattoo, but different.' He shook his head. "Well.. I must say first, congratulations to you two. You have high potential to become a powerful metusor." He nodded at Zero and Lucky. Marian clenched his fist. "What about me?" Mr. Devlit shook his head. "The most you'll be able to use is spirit circuits. It will be difficult." "God damnit, what's so fucking good about it anyway? Fuck" Marian growled. "For the next two weeks, I will impart to the three of you, what I can. If you can grasp good enough control, before I leave, I will give you the Ghost Knife spirit circuit tattoo." Mr. Devlit took out some glasses from inside the kitchen cabinets and filled them with water. He handed one glass to each of them. "Now we will practice meta-force control. Channel meta-force within the glass and push the water out the top." Mr. Devlit leaned against the kitchen cabinet and watched the three boys attempt to move the water out of the glass. After 15 mins, Marian's glass shattered. "Fuck" Marian's jeans were soaked. A few seconds later, Lucky's and Zero's glasses broke. However, they were prepared for it after seeing Marian get soaked. They got further from it at the moment the glass shattered. Mr. Devlit took out another 3 glasses. "Again then." ... Mr. Devlit's training course on meta-force fundamentals continued for the next 2 weeks as promised. During this time, Zero, Marian, and Lucky got a better understanding of meta-force Their control had increased to a passing amount. 77 and Tonya were transferred to another homeroom with a normal class. They joined normal Sophomores until Mrs. Beck returns. But she seemed to have caught a bad illness or she had been threatened to leave her job. She had tendered her resignation after the first week. Tonya and 77 joined the classroom of Mr. Austin. After two weeks of classes, nobody interacted with them much. 77 had a slaves tattoo on her forehead and Tonya was naturally unapproachable with her tough aura. Even though Lucky, Zero, and Marian spent all their class times with Mr. Devlit. Lucky and Zero couldn't use their innate meta-force techniques yet. The volume of meta-force within their bodies couldn't support the technique. It was only possible previously, due to Mr. Devlit channeling his meta-force over. Lucky, Zero, and Marian learned the Spirit Technique: Isolation Field from Mr. Devlit. And today was the last day they would be meeting with him.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
