《Mother Dryad & Father Dragon》Chapter 23

[You have unlocked Draconic Form Max]
I was overjoyed to see the notice in front of me. I have completed my change, relieving myself of agony, but I now have a far stronger form on which to rely. Looking around, I notice my mother and father are perplexed. "What happened, Dad? Wasn't I supposed to change into something new?" I question.
"Well, you did simply not what we expected, truly what anybody would suspect...stand up," he chuckles. Weird out by what he said, I got up, but my body seemed twisted for some reason. Looking behind me, I notice an extra pair of legs and a tail?! This can't be happening, can it? I didn't change into a dragon; instead, I became a Dragontaur. But I'm a dragon-dryad hybrid, not a centaur-dryad hybrid!
I raise my other half with all my effort, peering at it as it sways. My torso feels like it's been placed on top of a dragon's body. I was covered in scales, and these large projecting plates protruded from my entire back like the spines on a Stegosaurus. Even while it looked cool, I was sad that I didn't have the intimidating scale of a dragon. I was taller than before, but not like my father in his state. Did everything go well, Little Helper?
[On a technicality, yes, it worked, but let's be honest, there had to be a flaw here and there. It's not common for a Dryad and a Dragon to produce a child. You got the best of both halves.]
I can't see it but I feel if Little Helper had a physical form he would just be shrugging. Taking my time I walk over to my parents presenting my new form. “It seems like we made some flaws in the ritual. I’m sorry son you must be disappointed.” My mother says trying to counsel me. “I’m not upset if anything I happy the pain just ended,” I said. Then again it’s kinda sad I don’t have wings.

[ What do you mean you don’t have wings? Your flight skill is still on your skills list and it’s at level 50! Just try and fly and see what happens.]
I attempt to feel for my wings while listening to what Little Heper says. It took me a second, but I eventually discovered them, inside of me! I flexed the muscle in my wings with my mana, and the crazy thing happened. My protruding scales snap apart and tear away from my back. It stung a lot and itched a bit, however, the missing area of my scales was quickly covered up with other scales. The spines that used to be linked to my body began to break and expose themselves as massive wings at least the size of a car. They started flapping, and before I knew it, I was flying in the air, staring down at my parents' faces.
“You did it sone you can fly just like your father!” He shouts. Glee takes over me as I see my father rise into the sky looking at me eyes to eye with such a proud face. “Let’s race!” He says before quickly taking off. Not even knowing where the finish line was I followed. WE flew for what felt like hours with me not ever catching up but I was soon exhausted and collapsed onto the ground with a hard thud. I could already hear my mother scowling at my father for making me exhaust myself. I wanted to break it up but I decided not because of the pain I went through plus I wanted to check my stats

What are these crazy stats? When did I even get these types of levels?
[What did you expect? In your Dragonic Form, all of your stats are multiplied by two. Your current base states are 420 for HP and 470 for Mana. Furthermore, in this form, your skills are greater than before. They are still at the same level, but they have been upgraded. The level you obtained came from the growing ceremony that you attended.]
Ah ok, this isn’t that bad I got a head start in life. Plus I don’t have to wait years to get this level, especially with no way to of actual combat in sight.
After my mother and father stopped bickering they finally came to check on me. “You exhausted your mana I see. Don’t worry the more you use it the less mana will be consumed” He assured. He picked me up and took me to my room. “Your gonna need to rest for a while. A con of this form is that it takes everything out of ya. Now change back already your bed won’t be able to take how big you are.” I quickly imagined myself turning back into my more I don’t wanna say human form but you understand. Luckily turning back into myself is easier than turning into my Dragonic Form. Laying down finally to rest I realized that my training is gonna be a lot harder.

Immortal Shards
In the boundless multiverse, all possibilities, no matter how remote, exist somewhere. Universes are born, or are created, and die, or do not. In the vast Myriad Heavens Cosmos, a reality far away from our own, a mysterious energy called Mana provides the basis for both physical techniques and magical techniques, and interweaves and is part of all matter, all spirits, and all energy. Mana is the lifeblood of the world, and those who channel and cultivate its power are called cultivators, for they strive to grow along the myriad paths of power and enlightenment. There are many such paths, known as Dao, but they all feature Shards! When a being, man, beast, or otherwise, gains a large enough Mana sea in their body, a crystal core, known as a shard, containing the essence of their power, the ideals and emotions that motivate them, and the essence of their soul will form. A beast which cultivates to the level of forming a shard is called a Magical Beast. A human or other being that does is known as a Mystic. A shard may be a Mage Shard, allowing one to use mana to attack with the elements and produce fantastical, reality bending spells. A shard may also be a Warrior shard, channeling elemental and mana power into one’s physical form, shaped into projectiles, or various other uses; or it can be a Immortal Shard, with the abilities of a Warrior and Mage shard both, and others besides. Anyone who forms an Immortal Shard has the potential to shock the vast planes of reality! In the eternal struggle between the living, who will gain advantage, and for how long? Who will live and who will die? Who will protect and guide the commoners, and fight rogue Mystics and Beasts? Into this world, a child with a potential beyond his wildest imaginations is born. But on the journey of cultivation, there are no guarantees! Will he reach his fated glory, or will he die an ignoble death? This is the story of Alexander Grandstar, and even the gods may not know where it goes! Current release schedule is 1 chapter a week, on whatever day I decide to place it (usually Saturday or Sunday)
