Chapter 0018
Leviene gleefully point to a class, eager to research a class only to have a menu pop up.
[Required information require player to take a survey.]
[Would you like to take the survey? [Yes] [No]]
Damn it to hell and back and then some. The thwarted Perrian Let wanted scream her frustration into the high heavens. After coming to Arashia, Leviene has met setback after setback. First it’s the character customization, then the stupid maze, then Erica, then the freaking red light district which lead to Madalinos, and now this. When will sh*t stop getting in her way?!
If Leviene took a moment to carefully digest the information she just read, she realize this is the survey every new player has to take to determine their affinity for a certain class.
The embittered Perrian Let had to swallow her anger and dutifully take the test like a good school girl. Leviene cried silent tears as she worked her way through the questionnaire.
Question #1: Where in the raid do you want to be?
Leviene thought about the question then wrote, “Wherever I am needed.” The answer that appeared after she dotted the period was “Wherever I can slack off.”
Leviene “....” pause, “God damn m*ther f****king piece of s***.”
It was previous mention a player is unable to lie on the survey. Apparently rewriting the players response to the emotion corresponding to the player’s true thoughts.
However, it is important to note, Leviene did not lie when she answered the survey. During a raid time, things changes as they continually fight boss. At times, Leviene wished she was on her alt, a Mage with better than average gear, because even with said gear, Leviene can execute the fight better than most of the raid.
She created her mage because she was tired of looking at health boxes. A joke on a forum about the healing class went viral.
Random raider, “How do you NOT know the way to the boss? You’ve been here a million times.”
Healer, “Forget the way to the boss, I don’t even know the instance look like, my computer screen is cover with health boxes.”
Other classes tease the healers, but players raiding as a healer knew the pain healers suffer.
Then there are times when one have to yell at the stupid tanks.
Leviene doesn’t realize Kaleseze and Wraith’s gaming skills far exceed the regular players. Using them as a benchmark for normal gaming skills is an insult to the top players of the gaming world.

In a player versus player, shorten pvp, tournament in Dark Drake Kingdom, Kaleseze and Wraith join up to battle other people on their server. They were in the top 10. It isn’t a surprise to most players why their guild, Slaughter, was the best on the server.
Leviene herself is a good player. In a player versus environment or pve, Leviene skills and her ability to execute orders bring her standing up a notch. In pvp, well, it’s kind to say she spends more time at the graveyard than fighting. Thank god for lazy guild members hanging around her.
The clueless gamer still didn’t realized those ‘lazy guild members’ were sent to babysit her while she runs around the area looking for herbs and orbs. Leviene’s calls it farming. Everyone calls it a hassle.
Leviene was amazed at the answer towards the question. It is the truth. It is a truth that the sad Perrian Let hid deep within her itty bitty little black heart. It is also a truth she didn’t want to admit.
After raiding for so long, players get burnt out. The desire to be the best take time and effort. Raiding for 6 hours a day is like another job. Sooner or later, the game doesn’t become fun anymore.
The Perrian Let sticks with it because she was accompanying Sylphie. She didn’t want to tell her cousin she was tired of gaming. Ironic, now she living a virtual world.
Leviene looked around, seeing that Sylphie was busy with Erica, ran to a quiet place to finish the survey. A person’s deepest secret should be kept hidden. It does a player no good to have themselves exposed to the vagaries of the human world is what Leviene wanted to say, but the truth was she has secret she’d rather not reveal, especially to Erica and Sylphie.
Question #2: What do you think of the healing process?
Leviene’s answer: To ease the burden towards the patient, it is best for the healing process to go as smooth as possible.
Answer #2: The healing process should be wrought with pain and suffering but ultimately leaves the patient with a sound mind and body. Pain is a method the body tells the mind something wrong happens, fix it. The mind need to realize their actions was moronic to the extreme and take the time to learn from the experience and become a better person.
Question #3: What do you think of soldiers in the front line?
Leviene’s answer: They do an admirable job protecting the rights and freedom of civilians back home.
Answer #3: The soldiers are admirable for their commitment, but they are either a stop gap measure or a reactionary force after an event occurs. Their effort is ultimately in vain because the base of the problem is human nature. When the apocalypse happens, individuals will wise up to their infraction and seek to change themselves only to be shafted to hell because it was too late. I will see you all in hell.
Question #4: What do think of abuse?
Leviene’s answer: The strong should never abuse the weak.
Answer #4: Abuse should never be tolerated, however society has limit one’s ability to discipline. There are some bratty kids that needs strict discipline and irresponsible adults who need stricter discipline. Far more though, there are people who suffer under the tyranny of the bastards around them. Those m*ther f***king bastard should suffer the same pain they inflict on others.
Question #5:....
Question #99: What do you think about children?
Leviene’s answer: 2 children, a boy and a girl.
Answer #99: Like hell do I want to go through the ‘miracle of childbirth’ but my mom grew up with the Asian mentality and she requires grandchildren with her blood in them. If her two brother weren’t shut ins then she’d chuck the burden to them and avoid the whole painful process entirely. Sadly, they won’t get a girlfriend and stick her with the whole pushing out a watermelon through a hose scenario, so she stuck being the baby maker.
Queston #100: What is your favorite food?
Leviene’s answer: Beef jerky.
Answer #100: Hot and spicy beef jerky. Teriyaki is bland and peppered doesn’t have a kick to hit.
[The survey has been complete. The result will be sent to you shortly.]
The Perrian Let was burnt out with self reflection. The survey brought out the truth Leviene never intend to acknowledge as truth. In short, it took off Leviene’s mental blinders and show the little Perrian Let an ugly side of herself she wished she could push back into the darkness.
Oh well, time to move on.
Mental blinders back on again.
The above average player has to admit, the survey was through in a roundabout way although some question was iffy. 30 questions about sacrifice, 30 questions about healing, 30 question about fighting and 10 odd questions.
The questions about sacrifices test the deposition of player towards tanking. Tanks need the ability to lead, the courage to charge and need to protect. In a party or raid situation, it is tank who tells the group when to charge, when to attack, when to stop attacking and when to run. These are the qualities of a leader. They also tend to be the first to die.
Leviene will never admit she doesn’t have the quality of a leader. Her ability to execute orders points her to a follower instead. She’s happy with it. Leave all the hard decision to the others. She’s not losing sleep anytime soon.
The healing questions were perplexing. It is almost like the System doesn’t know what kind of quality is needed for a healer. Doctors need the ability to decipher and analyze multiple source of information and compare to what they learn in medical school coupled with their experiences. Nurses and aids need to follow the doctor's orders, but they have the right to question said orders as well as inform the doctors when changes in conditions occurs so a new plan of care can be issued.
If the system was expecting a response such as empathize with the patient, strive to give the best of care as much as possible and other noble feelings, well, that is true too, but the health system in America doesn’t promote such behavior. Liability, cost and time constraints and all that.
Questions about fights and abuses are geared towards the damage dealers. How a players handle killing and possible PTSD is important. Arashia mimics a virtual reality game. It is not a true virtual reality game. Therefore some aspect of the game like hurting or even killing another player needs to be considered.
Then there is the last several questions. Children? Food? Interpersonal relationship? How the heck is anyone supposed to answer those? And what about privacy?
There are answers to questions Leviene never want to see the light of day. She prayed the survey gets destroyed after it is handed in.
Finally finished.
Leviene rubbed her hand in glee. What classes does the System think is suitable for the newly minted Perrian Let?
