Chapter 0041
I see. One of the worse phrase in the world. It is incongruous and undefinable. What does Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar see? The horizon? Everything in her field of vision? An abstract idea mere mortals can’t comprehend?
Leviene hates ambiguous responses. She wasn’t going to nitpick. She’s going to get going.
Now that Leviene has finished her quest, she can meet up with Sylphie and Erica at the fountain before the Eastern Gate.
Still.
The silly gamer can’t believe she only got 10 experiences point out from the quest. 20 if you count the previous quest to find Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar.
Leviene looked pathetically at Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar before she slowly turned around to leave.
“What is wrong child?”
“I got 20 experience point out of the whole ordeal. I get the difficulty level of the quest should match the rewards, but 20 experiences is not worth it at all. I could have done better going outside and killing mobs.” Leviene complained.
“Do you not think the Mysterious Eye of Untold Secret is not a worthy enough reward for your quest?”
“Ooooohhhh, your right. I forgot all about that.” Leviene perked up immediately at the mentions of benefits.
“The 2 other [Reset Potion] are also in your possession. Is that not rewarding enough?”
“Loooot.” Leviene said dreamily.
“Gullible child.” Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar thought to herself, “One of these days, someone’s going to con you out of house and home.” Despite her affection towards the silly little gamer, it didn’t stop her from pointing out the potential benefits from the quest.
Leviene’s was literally floating on air as she thought about the gain she had received today. Her black and white wings flared out and slowly flapped, pulling the short Perrian Let into the air.
Her tail smacked her out of her daydreaming. “What the…” Leviene said as she dropped back to the ground.

“You need to pay more attention to your surroundings.” Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar gently admonished. This child is quite the foolish idiot. Even her tail, which relies on instinct is better than her.
Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar wondered how the child live until now considering her idiotic behavior.
The answer depends on one’s point of view. Leviene would say she’s capable of taking care of herself. It’s true. Leviene can take care of herself. Her family vehemently disagree. They actively and aggressively protect Leviene. Anyone stupid enough to take advantage of Leviene will have the face their full might!
Leviene would protest.
Her family would point out all the scheningan she gets into.
Leviene claims her family leads the problem to her. All her trouble are the byproduct of her upbringing and the consequences of their actions.
Her family will punish her. “We didn’t raise you like this!” they will think.
And the cycle will continue.
It is questionable about the cause and effect, though. Leviene was sure she’d be a different person if her father never went to France. She the responsible nurse during clinicals. She was sure she’d be the responsible nurse almost all the time if her crazy family didn’t warp her personality during her childhood.
Her family begs to differ. They are merely reactionary during Leviene’s childhood.
“What hit me?”
“Your tail.”
“Ah.” Leviene immediate grabbed the tail and wrapped it around her waist while eyeing Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar warily. She has not forgotten how Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar instruct her on how to control the tail of hers. “Thanks for reminding about the gains I received just now. I’ll be on my way.”
“You don’t want to know about the title you’ve earned?”
“Title? What title?” Leviene lost her wariness like a dog presented with a bone by a stranger.
“Look at the title section in your character screen.”

Leviene pulled up her character screen and went to the title section. Just as Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar had said, Leviene got a new title: Empress.
Most MMO’s offer titles as nothing more than a prefix before the name of players to differentiate the hard core games from the casual gamers. Players go through the motions for the titles to boost their ego while the game company retains their subscriptions.
Leviene never went out of her way to get a title. She did get the perfunctionary ones as the quest lines offered a lot of rewards. No benefits = No work.
Titles in Arashia are different.
Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar had said so herself. The title of Honored Lady gave Valdis more access to the System. Players are on a different title system.
“I got the Empress title.”
“I expect as much. Titles start from a lowly page, squire, knight to king, high king and emperor. The higher the titles, the better the benefits. There are special dungeons and quest line that can only be activated at certain titles or higher. Certain mobs or NPCs won’t spawn unless a high ranking players is in the group. The benefits to a high title are plentiful and up to you to explore. A… what wrong child?”
As Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar begins to list the benefits of the title, and Leviene felt she got jipped. Special dungeons, no interest right now. Quest line, unless there is a good reward involved, Leviene won’t do it. Judging by the reward Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar gave out for her quest, most rewards won’t be that great. Seriously, she just sold out her relatives for the Amulet of Endless Love and got a nice skill and 2 potions in return. The consequences might come to bite her in the butt. Well, she doesn't care. As long as the guy doesn’t want to date Anya, everything is fine. Everyone else can take care of themselves.
Though it did get her wondering, what kind of man got the guts to marry into her family?
“The rewards for the title don’t benefit me right now. Special dungeons and quest are in the distant future. I also have to stumble into them.”
“The title benefit you in the long run.”
“As John Maynard Keynes said, ‘In the long run, we’re all dead.’ Why do I have to worry about the long run when I won’t survive the short run.”
“What else do you want?”
“3 crystals for a wardrobe mod and more potions.”
“Fine!” Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar exasperated voice echoed through the alley. This child. What is she going to do with her? “Here are 3 crystals and 3 [Divine Restorative Potion]. [Divine Restorative Potion] can fill you HP and MP to the max and removes any and all debuffs. Happy now?”
Leviene immediately swipe the 3 [Divine Restorative Potion] and the 3 crystals, immediately put it into her inventory lest Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar changes her mind. She didn’t know she could get good loots such as these.
“Thank you.” Leviene showed her killer move, a hug! Yes a hug. Few can resist Leviene when she is hugging/snuggling up against them. The short Perrian Let get away with many things just by hugging the person.
Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar was no exception. She melted in the embrace of the child. It has been so long since she felt the touch of another person aside from her sister.
“Thank you Honored Lady, I have to get going now.” Leviene squirmed out of the embrace, leaned in for a quick peck and then fled the area.
“Hehehe,” Leviene thought, “buttering someone up is easy. When we meet again, I’ll get more loot.”

Searcher
I was just like everyone else. At least, I thought so. Everyone grew up in a mansion with servants, trained to be a debutante, had a traveling archeologist for a father, and gave it all up to do whatever the hell they wanted. Right? Well that’s what I did. I was happy. As happy as a single twenty four year old girl can be living in an apartment selling shit online to pay the bills. Not actual shit, that's gross. No, I bought stuff from garage sales, thrift stores, and junk shops, and resold it in my online store. I was pretty good at finding stuff to peddle to my customers. I made rent every month and didn’t have to strip. I’m a bit too chunky to swing around a pole anyway. Life was great! Until two sexy men broke into my apartment and woke me up from the most erotic dream my sexually depraved mind could come up with. One was between my legs, the other was... Oh well, it was a dream and I didn’t even get to finish it. Those bastards! Now I’m supposed to believe my dead father wasn’t an archeologist, but some kind of paranormal agent working for a secret organization called The Guard. My ability to find items for my customers is just a perk inherited from him. And I’m supposed to use my inherited powers to save the world. All while these hunks of man flesh guard me from other paranormals out to get whatever the hell they think I have. A certain body part is dripping with excitement, literally. But my mind is saying “Hell No!”
