Chapter 0066
The fat juicy steak was in front of their eyes, and everyone was slobbering for the kill as they stalked the boss of the area, the [Sinister Black Wyvern].
Leviene can already feel the fat loot drops in her hands as she eyed Sinister Black Wyvern. The lizard totally makes up for their inability to attempt the random spawn dungeon two days ago.
Ah yes, it was two days ago. Two days ago Leviene’s party emerged out of the river wet and gloomy.
No one likes it when there is a nice big slab of mouth watering beefy goodness right in front of their face when they are hungry then told they can’t eat it.
In the money grubber case, when there is a mountain of gold in front of her face and she is told she can’t take even a single gold coin.
For the next two days, the group set aside their suspicion and grind their butts off. They aside their differences and slowly got accustomed to their class. They even develop a tacit understanding among themselves.
Leviene took to grinding as a duck to water. All the drops become motivation for the experienced gamer to level up her character. She compared the wealthy she was getting now to the ones she would get when they completed the random spawn and her imagination spurred her to farm more.
Sylphie was unsurprised by Leviene’s ability to make money. She was rich when they were playing Dark Drake Kingdom. The Tajin Nost saw first hand how Leviene can kill a mob over and over again for gold. Many farmers, Sylphie included, hated the monotonous routine of farming for gold. Leviene enjoys it.
Sylphie had once asked why Leviene kill mobs for drops and loot when there are faster ways to earn money. “The act of killing mobs over and over again soothes my nerves.” Laurie had once told Sylphie. Sylphie didn’t probe further. She didn’t want to know how a normal person finds it soothing to kill over and over again.
As such, when Leviene gets into her zombie mode and off mobs faster than they could respawn, Sylphie told the other to stay the hell away from Leviene.

They would continue their grinding if Erica didn’t spot the area boss [Sinister Black Wyvern] flying overhead. Everyone was all for testing their new skills against an elite boss and prove themselves ready for the random spawn dungeon.
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: Foodie, take your mind off lunch and concentrate on the mob ahead of us.
The brothers thought Leviene was ignoring Erica’s sarcastic comment but Sylphie filled them in on Leviene’s thought pattern. Leviene wasn’t ignoring Erica’s comment. She didn’t think she was the foodie in question so she didn’t respond.
Bam.
[Party - Leviene]: Ouch, what was that for?
[Party - Sylphie]: I was trying to get your attention.
[Party - Leviene]: Okay, you got my attention. What do you want?
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: We want you to get our mind off of your stomach and on the boss.
[Party - Leviene]: I’ll have you know, my mind was on the boss.
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: Oh really?
[Party - Leviene]: Yes really.
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: Then why do I hear the gurgling of your stomach and your ‘We’ll have steak soon’?
[Party - Leviene]: Wyvern Steak.
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: I should have known.
[Party - Leviene]: Yeah, should have. Anyways. How are we doing this Sylphie?
[Party - Sylphie]: You mt, Egarious ot, I’m on healing duty and the others dps.
[Party - Egarious]: What is mt and ot?
[Party - Sylphie]: mt = main tank, ot = off tank.
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: Is it wise for Leviene to be the main tank? She hasn't had a good track record so far.
[Party - Sylphie]: Her current skill set is better than Egarious for 1 on 1 tanking.
[Party - Leviene]: Wouldn’t be better for me to play multiple roles instead of assigning me the role of mt?
[Party - Sylphie]: Not really.
[Party - Leviene]: Why not?
[Party - Sylphie]: Despite your paranoia, I happen to like Egarious. I don’t want him to die when we wipe. You, on the other hand, need to experience death so you can enjoy life.
[Party - Egarious]: Umm.. thanks?
[Party - Leviene]: Oh geez, thanks. And here I thought you were on my side.

[Party - Sylphie]: I am. I am preparing you to experience death so when you die later on you won’t be befuddled.
[Party - Leviene]: Why are you so sure we are going to die?
[Party - Sylphie]: Kaleseze.
[Party - Leviene]: Ugh. Okay, changing to Rayael.
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: ???
Erica’s impression of Kaleseze is that of a laid-back nerd who goes to school, comes home to play games, and sleep. She knows nothing about his circle of friends, his social life or his likes or dislike. The Ruse Marren has come to realize her perception of the family is based off of rumors she hears during the family get together and her mother’s nagging. She doesn’t know much about her extended family.
Sylphie explained as best as she could.
[Party - Sylphie]: Kaleseze is Leviene’s younger brother. He’s a nice guy and all, except he likes to one, win and two, experiment. It is considered end game content when a guild is downing the last bosses and the company hasn’t release new content. Kaleseze like to be the best on the server, so our guild is one of the first guild to attempt new contents. Fighting new bosses is a trial and error process. Wipes and death are common. Leviene knows she will die when Kaleseze pushes everyone towards new content, so she might as well experience death now instead of under the watchful eye of her brother. He becomes a tyrant when we are raiding.
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: Doesn’t explain the death sentence.
[Party - Sylphie]: Kale likes to optimized things. He can spend hours attacking a test dummy to see the attack range, attack speed, crit, crit multipliers and whatever statistic he deems necessary. Testing during an actual fight a is common for him as well. Sending his sister’s avatar to die is one of the ways he gather his data as well.
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: So… he uses her as his guinea pig?
[Party - Sylphie]: Yes.
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: She dies from experiments?
[Party - Sylphie]: Her character yes.
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: But we’re in a virtual reality game.
[Party - Sylphie]: Where dying isn’t permanent.
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: So he’s going use her as bait and she’s too chicken shit to protest.
[Party - Sylphie]: Possibility.
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: With a brother like, who needs family?
[Party - Sylphie]: They Y’s are worse...
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: …
________________________________________________________________________
While the gossip mongers are yapping away, Leviene turned into Rayael and took note of her gear, which is to say she made sure her chest piece and shield can last a few rounds without breaking.
“Level 44 and I’m still in junk gear.” Rayael lamented. Rayael is more sensitive to gear quality than the rest of her party members because she knows how hard it is for a guild to gear up the main tanks. Kaleseze dragged, read forced, her and Wraith to grind 10 man instance for his tanking gear. The fifty man raids have better loot there but the drop rates for the best gear in game for a certain class is abysmal at best. Therefore, Kaleseze figured he might as well do with the second best gear until he can get the best gear.
It was fine for Leviene to grind the instances with her brothers, until the game developers decided you need reputation with certain factions before you can hope to forge the second best equipment. Not only did Leviene have to do the instances over and over and over and over again, she had to contribute a portion of her money making loot to her brother!
Those time were truly awful for her.
[Party - Rayael]: /cry
[Party - TresBelleSoliel]: /??
[Party - Sylphie]: Don’t bother. She is throwing herself a pity party.
[Party - Rayael]: Hey, I resent that.
[Party - Sylphie]: I resent the fact we have to be in your pity party!
[Party - Rayael]: Some cousin you are!
[Party - Sylphie]: Are you ready?
[Party - Rayael]: Yeah.
[Party - Sylphie]: They go tag the boss.
Rayael sighed, then heft her big, bright, shiny shield and launched herself towards the [Sinister Black Wyvern]. Just as she got in range to attack the boss, she was bombarded with long-range attacks.
[System]: Player Rayael has died.

Miracle Angeliva
Spirits, or what people usually referred to as ghosts, are something that has always been with us since ancient times. Some people are gifted to see them. However, most of us can’t see them without training. And without seeing them, we won’t believe. People only believe what they see, after all. However, I assure you, spirits are real. Spirits are always there. Just because you can’t see them doesn’t mean they are not real. Just like people of ancient ages who can’t see bacteria or those who can’t see stars further than eyes can see, there are limits to our technology. Similarly, even though the current technology can’t prove the existence of supernatural beings, that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. In the future, if we can develop technology so everyone can see them just like how a microscope helps us seeing micro beings, I believe everyone will believe it too. That being said, I still can’t prove their existence yet. -Raleigh Von Vlad Update daily (if possible, if not, guaranteed chapters are on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday) Thanks to gej302 for the fantastic cover!
