Chapter 0069
“Ssssyyyyyllllpppphiiiieee, I was bullied!” Leviene exclaimed, not forgetting to include her whiny lisp when she tattled to Sylphie, as she rushed into her cousin’s embrace.
Ever since coming to Arashia, the scene of Leviene being soothed by Sylphie occurs more frequently.
Leviene began to notice things. To the extremely dense Leviene, that is a good thing except the things she notices are really strange.
In this case, the thing Leviene notice is how bouncy and poing her cousin’s breast are. One got to notice these thing given the amount of time she had her face smashed between them as she complained about the latest grievances.
“I gotta find me a man.”
Two sets of eyes looked at Leviene with resignation, one looked at her with confusion and the other looked at her with horror as the owners of said eyes slowly backed away.
“I got better taste than settling for a bro-con like you, Egarious.” Leviene sneered. As if she’d stoop so low!
“You don’t have the greatest taste in men. Boyfriend number one was childish and immature. Boyfriend two and three are gold diggers I chased away at the first sign of leeching occurred. Boyfriend four, five and six were want to be thugs. The Y’s did a good job chasing them away.”
“Sylpie, leave me some dignity.”
“You were the one who brought it up.”
“You didn’t need to bring up my disappointments.”
“I’m just saying if you are on a man hunt, look for someone better than your previous boyfriends.”
“I know.” Leviene’s black history made it sound like she is desperate for a man her family would approve, but it isn’t true. Aside from boyfriend number one, who she dated in her first year in high school, the others were used to test her family's reaction to her dating.

Leviene wanted to find a man who loves her with all his heart and soul, baggages and all. Kaleseze told her to keep dreaming. Very few people can fight the might of the Deveraux, Denieve and the Yuan only for her hand in marriage. Leviene isn’t in line to inherit anything from her relatives. All she can bring to the marriage is her influence over her family.
The man must really love her to contend with three strong influences. So far, Leviene hasn’t met a man who can fulfil the requirements.
“Not to spare Leviene any embarrassment, but can we continue dividing the loot?” Erica interrupted impatiently.
“Loot? What loot?” Leviene perked up immediately. Erica isn’t much of a gamer. She shouldn’t care about gear, loot or tricking up her character unless they killed a special boss and the only boss worth mentioning is the [Sinister Black Wyvern].
Sylphie linked the loot in party chat.
Boots of Mysteries
Leather - Uncommon
+5 Agility
+5 Constitution
Death Grip Gloves of Uncertainty
Plate - Uncommon
+5 Strength
+5 Constitution
“Ooohhh, blue uncommon loot. How did you guys down the [Sinister Black Wyvern]?”
The rarity goes grey junk, white normal drops, yellow common drops, blue uncommon drops, red rare drops, green super rare drops, purple epic drops, orange artifact drops and gold legendary drops.
Despite their constant farming, this was the first uncommon loot drop Leviene had ever seen.
With Leviene lusting over the loot Sylphie linked in party chat, she didn’t notice the strange expression everyone was giving her.
As one, everyone turn towards Sylphie. They didn’t know how to explain the situation to the short Perrian Let so they turned towards the ‘expert’ so to speak. Sylphie has been handling her cousin all her life. She is the only one qualified.

“There was another group angling for the [Sinister Black Wyvern]. After they killed you, the tagged him. We killed the group when both sides were weakened. I admit, it was hard on the others to wait until the boss was around 5% to before we started killing the other party. We were able to wipe them then snatch the kill before they realized we were even there. We did get a lot of flak from them in general chat, but I ignored their yapping.” Sylphie lied to Leviene with a straight face.
Egarious, “...”
Aetharious, “...”
Erica, “...”
Leviene’s gazed ping pong among the group members. When everyone kept silent, Leviene shrugged off her curiosity before going back to a more important question - who is going to get the loot?
“Who is getting what?” Leviene asked with anticipation. After spending the last couple of days farming and getting junk, the sight of rare loot leave Leviene giddy with happiness and anticipation.
There are benefits with multiple classes as there are down sides. Another downside aside from the extra effort needed to level the class is gearing up the character.
Leviene wants the gear more anyone right now. After experience death for the first time in the game, she wants to get stronger.
It takes skill and insight for a player to be good in Arashia. Gear plays a major part in either widening or shortening the gap.
Leviene wants the gear to widen the gap between her and the other players. She is highly aware of her propensity for death.
Kaleseze told her there is a youtube video gone viral of her being killed over and over again. It seems her enemies like to watch her die while else enjoy her pathetic game play. She complained about it in guild chat but she never worked up the courage to watch it. Her ego would take a major hit.
If Leviene actually watch the video, she might have caught on to her prowess in her zoned out state. The video was of her taking on six other players in Dark Drake Kingdom and winning. She killed the other players then mercilessly corpse camped them for the next two hours. She was farming anyways, so the zone out Leviene didn’t mind coming around to check on the dead corpses. Unfortunately she was too chicken shit in her aware state to click on the link.
“Since you never damage the [Sinister Black Wyvern], your name wasn’t on the loot list. Aetharious got the plate boots while I took the leather boots.”
“Ssssyyyyyllllpppphiiiieee!” Leviene wailed her agony while Sylphie gave her a helpless smiled and everyone back away from the duo.
With relatives like Sylphie, who need enemies!

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
