Chapter 13: The body of a 12th pulse demon
“Again!” Leiming’s voice sounded out slightly impatient.
Leiming and Wenrou, had spent the next two full days, in the process of practising breathing techniques, to forcefully open a Meridian. Although, they started out optimistic, it soon turned grim, Wenrou’s body had solidified more and more over the years his body hadn’t felt the movement or nutrition of Qi.
The body since birth, should be nurtured by Qi and Essences to feed the meridians and the body, keeping it consistent with the surrounding Environment. Once the Meridians are introduced to feeding of the Qi and Essences of the world, it will stay in a wet state allowing the cultivator to continuously mould and change it in accordance to the breathing techniques they practice. However, the problem with Wenrou is that his body had solidified early on, no matter how much Qi he absorbed, wouldn’t allow his Meridians to change or adapt to the Qi being introduced.
Although, it looked more and more grim, Leiming still had many ideas on how to break the solidified mould, and revert it to a state, where it would become slightly ‘wet’ and produce a starting point where Wenrou would be able to, slightly change his Meridians bit-by-bit.
Leiming and Wenrou where sitting in meditative positions, opposite each other. The plan was to, have Leiming draw in as much Qi as possible, without absorbing or inhaling it but just to have it silently linger around their area. Next, it was up to Wenrou, to continuously employ the breathing technique taught by Leiming and forcefully smash into his Meridians, which would in time allow the solidified Meridian to become ‘wet’ and provide Wenrou with a slight help to unlock the additional Meridian points! Since the body isn’t like a piece of bread that has been burnt, or piece of concrete that has solidified. The body is made up of cells and tissues, just how you train your body will get stronger, and if you stop training it will revert slowly. The Meridians, should in theory also work like this.
Leiming, whose eyes opened slowly, and exhaling deeply, as his gaze landed on the boy opposite him “Wenrou, this isn’t working. Your unable to forcefully smash open the Meridian, I will have to inspect your body with my own Qi. Only, you should know, me injecting my own Qi to inspect your body, will result in excruciating pain. Since your body hasn’t felt the presence of Qi before, adding to that your muscles and tissues are extremely undeveloped due to the deficiency of Qi. However, I will try to be as gentle as possible, if you are able to endure for a few moments of breath I will be able to understand your body in greater detail... can you do it?”
Wenrou just maintained his meditative position, his eyelids closing tighter. Gritting his teeth, he opened his eyes in a flash and replied with unreserved will “Yes!” Wenrou, knew how much pain this would be, being attacked by other kids he came to understand if it hurt so much landing on his body, imagine the pain inside my body!
“Come here, and sit with your back facing me. Take your top off as well.” Leiming sounded slightly conflicted. This would be one of the greatest tests to Wenrou’s will and spirit.
Wenrou got up, and moved into a meditative position within arm’s length of Leiming, facing away from him, removing his top garment. He closed his eyes, and immediately forced his eyes closed, his hands interlocked gripping tightly his fingers slightly cut into his hands causing pain, his jaw locked extremely tightly. He was preparing himself to the painful Qi, intrude into his body!

Leiming placed both his palms on Wenrou’s back, his fingers on Wenrou’s nape, and the bottom side of his palm was on the shoulder blade. Leiming was going to use the feeling of his Qi invading Wenrou’s body to guide him slowly. His eyes, would do him no good now.
The forest fell silent, as if it was observing these two, undergoing a strenuous task, unwilling to affect their concentration.
Feeling his Qi move from his Dantian, through his blood stream and passing through his Meridians to his fingertips, Leiming felt his Qi move through pores of the skin.
Wenrou didn’t feel much, it was like a small pin pricking at his skin... What he felt next was out his imagination.
The Qi that started off as light as pin prick, gradually grew. It felt like an ice cold piece of rock continually growing inside him. He felt the rock solidifying within his muscles, his skin felt like it was tearing millimetre by millimetre. His teeth clenching even harder, his lips had now opened to expose his teeth that was how much pain he was feeling.
Leiming understood the pain, however it had to be done. The Qi that expanded around the nape of the neck under the skin, began to travel in accordance with Leiming’s palm slowly travelling down the back of Wenrou.
What felt like a rock expanded between his necks, leaving Wenrou sweating profusely, his forehead creased and his jaw clenched to the extreme, now felt like the rock slowly decreased in size, but now felt like a sea of knives tearing through his innards!
Leiming’s eyes knitted together, feeling the Qi travel through the middle area of Wenrou’s body left him stupefied. ‘This body? What is it!?’ that’s what he was thinking, the more he travelled the more he encountered these black holes within Wenrou’s body which shocked even Leiming to his core!
“These black holes! No it cannot be!” His face was distorted to the extreme, he looked savage right now! The more he inspected, the more he grew cautious of Wenrou. His left hand, moved extremely fast travelling up to Wenrou’s left shoulder.
To Wenrou, the feeling of Leiming moving this fast came as even more of a shock “acckkkkk” he uncontrollably spat crimson blood, dyeing the surrounding grass into a bloody jade. It felt like a sea blizzard crashing against his internal organs. He could only cry out in pain though, even, if he wanted to break free at this moment he was utterly incapable! His body belonged to Leiming now.
Leiming was now with disregard to the pain causing Wenrou, absorbed by his findings continued to inspect his body. He had come across four black holes around the top of the abdomen. His left hand discovered, that Wenrou had another two black holes in his arms, one in the shoulder, the other a slightly smaller black hole in his forearm.
“A total of six so far! This shouldn’t be possible, to have so many spiritual pulses is... is inconceivable!” His breathing became ragged with this thought and the more he thought the more his control became chaotic, crazy and careless within Wenrou’s body.
“Spiritual pulses are mirrored, if there is two in his left arm, there is two in his right arm! His Dantian!” With the shock in his heart, Leiming controlled his right hand and forcefully brushed past the internal organs coming closer to the Dantian.
Although he was rushing to the spot, he was still taking his time inspecting, the closer he made it to the Dantian, the darker the area became. His Qi, began to lose sense of direction becoming confused inside... what happened next was out of Leiming’s expectations! His Qi, was being burnt the closer it go to the inky coal black Dantian!

“His Dantian. What is this? It is burning my Qi up! MY QI?!” Leiming as he was saying this in his mind, began to feel a pain swell up within him. His right hand close to the Dantian, was receiving severe backlash. Wenrou’s Dantian was burning the Qi, which resulted in Leiming’s right palm that produced that particular Qi to begin heating up slowly. However, this slowly heating up continuously quantified uncontrollably, soon it was akin to having his hand stuck in thick molten lava, and with the Qi being burnt he was unable to employ the technique to protect his palms from this unforeseen disaster!
With a quick move, he closed of his Qi in his right hand, severing the connection with Wenrou! As his hand detached, the faint streams of his Qi was visible having turned into steam that was evaporating of off his palm. Opening his eyes, his face looked unsightly the sound of the evaporating Qi, and the pain in his palm gradually resided. The whole forest had become extremely quiet, no birds chirped. No leaves rustled in the wind... the environment could feel this extremely dark, overbearing convoluted Dantian.
“Arrgghhh!” Wenrou's painfilled cry resounded in Leiming's ears like a clap of thunder, waking him up immediately! Leiming had totally forgot about his left hand, still around Wenrou’s left shoulder. He was lost in thought, losing himself in the moment of this extremely rare body. He quickly released his left hand as well.
Wenrou looked strained to the maximum, his whole face was clenched. His veins clearly visible as if they we’re forcefully emerged due to the strain put on his body. His vision gradually closed, getting darker and darker... he suddenly found himself in a dark room, with a dark water that filled half the room. His body slowly drifted into that dark water, submerged his consciousness faded...
Now that Wenrou was asleep, Leiming laid him down. Covering his body, he looked exhausted. Sweat was still pouring from Wenrou’s forehead, as well as his other areas. The strain must have been colossal, especially the fact that Leiming accidently and forcefully rotated his Dantian must have caused a huge backlash to his body!
Looking apologetically, he touched his head moving Wenrou onto his side. He began to slowly massage his body with Qi on the surface of the skin. Although, he looked in control he was still pondering what this body was.
“12 Spiritual pulses, this has never been witnessed before. No wonder, his body was unable to accumulate enough Qi to activate. However, that shouldn’t be all the reason for blame. His body was damaged before birth, while still in the womb this must be directly linked to his mother.” Coming to quick conclusions, he moved on.
“His Dantian... if I am not mistaken it is hereditary... it is the Shenyuan clan! But... it is impossible! How could a single child of that clan survive!?”
“All of the Shenyuan clan members have been wiped out, and harvested. Or so the united allied martial arts federation must think so. There must still be a clan left... his mother or father will know the truth, but where are they?”
“Leiming” a nonchalant voice sounded out, followed by a fiery blaze that flashed past Leiming. Looking down, she saw Leiming massaging the boy, which caused her to be slightly curious.
“Have you been playing house all this time with that boy? I need help to search the upper side of the planet.” Her voice came out curious and sweet.
As she descended from the sky, her boy was enveloped in a ruby glow, her hair crimson that had a faint flicker of blood red pulsating throughout. She looked like a crimson god, adorned in blood. As her body gradually neared the ground, the glow reduced her eyes revealing an entrancing gem.
“Chìhóng, will you mind this boy for a day while I go out and search?” Leiming didn’t even seem fazed, or uninterrupted at this female approaching him.
“Why should I?” She didn’t much care for this boy, and at a single glance looked extremely dissatisfied with him.
“RURURURURUUUU” Ban Ban noticing, Chìhóng’s presence came rushing out. Before, even he was scared to disturb the atmosphere, noticing that Leiming was concentrated on Wenrou, but now it felt like the atmosphere had returned back to the usual. So he came rushing out, trying to lick Chìhóng!
In his eyes, this female was extremely pretty and looked delicious. So whenever, he saw her he would try to lick her straight away!
Chìhóng already anticipating Ban Ban, caught his big pink tongue in mid-flight pincer like fashion with her scissor like hands. “Calm down you big baby! Don’t lick me, I just took a bath before coming here!” she sounded unfazed by Ban Ban’s actions. Knowing what he is like from the start to finish.
“ruuuuuuruuuuuuu” His tongue had a spot of purple on it, from the bruise inflicted by Chìhóng’s pinching. He just landed next to Wenrou, nudging him to wake up and play with him.
“Ban Ban, protect Wenrou. Don’t let him wake up. He is seriously injured, his innards are convulsed. Chìhóng, I will go search this time, wait here with him for a day or two.”
Without waiting for her to acknowledge his proposal, a faint flicker of silvery blue shined, and he disappeared.
“Hmph, he didn’t even notice the new fragrance bath I took. What a fool! Why is he always so self-absorbed...” she seemed displeased, looking over at Wenrou, she just moved close to him observing his body and face.
“Ban Ban, who is this boy?”
Ban Ban, just staring at Wenrou, seemed to enjoy play sleeping with Wenrou, licked his face without restraint, replying to Chìhóng “RARARARA”
“Your new friend? Where did you guys find him? Chìhóng was curious about this boy, and why would Leiming be interested in this boy who was clearly not talented at all.
--
An almost invisible silvery blue light was currently streaking across the sky.
“The Shenyuan clan is known as the clan of demons. The more spiritual pulses they activate, the further their martial prowess grows. However, the more pulses activated, the further they fall into the abyss, losing their minds in the process... the most common was seven pulses, and the previous genius of the clan has 10 pulses, but this boy has 12 pulses! There is simply one word for something like him! A demon!” His eyebrows knitted together, he looked distraught at the thought of his Student heralded from the Shenyuan clan!
Information heavy! I hope you enjoyed the exploration of Wenrou's body! Please let me know what you guys think so far, anything I can add or reduce to make this more interesting for you guys!
also RARARA have a good one guys!
