《Hunter X Hunter Overgeared》Imminent Battle 2

Four more hours passed and the arranged time was upon the mercenaries who sat in silence at the hall that once had the hostage's. The slowly nibbleed on some dried rations while tightly holding into their guns and looking at the door with killing intent.
"Boss.... there's only 10 minutes until the arranged time." quietly said Impala to the Nen user who was sitting against the wall with this eyes closed.
"Guess that it was not a diversion to make us let our guard down. Still.... this is how it's going to go, huh?" said the Nen user as he opponed his eyes and looked at Impala and then the other mercenaries.
"You're going to look after the men while I go meet them outside. As I do that, there is a high chance that they will be targeting me or try to kill you so.... you know what to do " said the Nen user as he tightened his shirt and cracked his neck a couple of times.
Impala saw the calm demeanor of the Nen user and couldn't help but think about yesterday's demonstration.
' With that , I'm not sure that a rain of bullet's will leave a scar on his body anymore. It's like he has become a tank , an impenetrable tank.' thought Impala as shook a little from excitement. He could almost feel the burded lift of him as he imagined about leaving this island with all that treasure.
"Impala, I know that you want to leave this island as soon as possible as we all do, but you have to remain focused. But remember this..... when I get that phone from them, I will crush their skulls with my own two hands, and you'll have front row seating to it." said the bear like Nen user as he patted Impala's shoulder. "I promise that you'll not regret following me in this island."

"Boss!" saluted Impala the Nen user and didn't move from that position until the Nen user got out of the room leaving the mercenaries on edge, but there was one exception. Tank who had miraculously managed to survive, was sitting on the back of the room with his limbs tied up and his mouth gaged.
He had waited all this time for Caid and the others to make a move to maybe rescue him, but until now he hadn't moved, but he had understood the situation pretty well, and knew that this was his last chance to escape.
' I guess that it was fun....haah...
Who would have thought! The most stressful time of my life would also be the most exciting one to. A hijack, mercenaries, hidden island where there is buried treasure.... this sounds more like a crazy movie plot than anything real, but here I am. Alive....
Makes me think if I've really ever lived, makes me think if I've just wasted my life with pointless things. I never wanted to really marry, I never wanted to really become a pilot....I just wanted to see the world and all it's wonders.' thought Tank as he remembered the time when his father took him hiking, to the lake, to the forest. Everything felt so new and amazing that he always had a lingering feeling for more.
"Hmmm....
Hey, check him out. Doesn't he seem somewhat strange?" said one of the mercenaries as he looked at Tank who was staring blankly at the air.
"The pilot? Well....he seems a little out of it, but who wouldn't be in this situation? It's only normal." answered another mercenary.
"I don't know.....
It just seems like I'm not looking at someone. It's strange and somewhat creepy; like I'm looking at a mannequin." said the first mercenary.

"Man, shut up! I'm not in the mood for one of your creepy stories." angrily said another mercenary that was close to the other two.
"But I'm right...
As the first mercenary was about to complete his sentence the pissed not voice of Caid Impala washed over them.
"You three, shut the fuck up! I don't want a single word from you until this is over."
"YES SIR!" X3
........
In the meantime, the Nen user had left the airship and was waiting in the middle of the sandy beach for any sign of the three of them. He squinted his eyes from the bright sun and trying to not miss anything , but couldn't help but have a bad feeling .
' That kid sure was someone who is hard to bargain with. He clearly can understand that he is at a disadvantage and simultaneously has a hold over me. Without a way to leave this island were as good as dead so he is trying to push us, while knowing that he has little chance. I could have taken another route and slowly smoked them out of their hiding as they don't have any supplies, but I'm also on a time limit.
The window of that bus created once a year to arrive at this island without any problems is three days and two days have already passed. So, if can't get that phone from them today then it's all over.' thought the Nen user as he felt the sunrays warm his skin, but not his soul.
He waited in that position until he suddenly noticed two figures coming out of the forest and immediately stop. This made him smile inwardly, but he managed to keep a calm face.
"You've finally arrived! I almost thought that you had been lying to me." spoke the Nen user as he took as step, but quickly stopped as a gun was pointed at him.
"Don't move! Don't even think about taking a single step forward!" said Paikos who was holding the gun. Mikael on the other hand was looking around as if trying to look for something.
"Haha, sorry about that." laughingly said the Nen use as he raised both his hands above his head. " I'm glad you showed up to our meeting and as you can see I'm unarmed and alone, but it seems that I'm at a disadvantage.
I don't think that the kid said anything about this."
"He didn't." dryly said Paikos as he kept the gun pointed at the Nen user. " He also isn't here, so you can stop looking for him, but not to worry about it. The deal of exchanging information is still going to happen."
"Is that so..." spoke the Nen user as he clenched his jaw a little bit.

The Adventures of Alan
What happens when a university professor somehow ends up in another world, where magic bends the laws of nature? Alan is, albeit unwillingly, about to find out. As a professor of physics, he has a decent understanding of how the world works, or so he likes to think. Armed only with his knowledge, Alan is thrown into a world very different from his own. In his new reality, he will meet both friends and foe, he will seek knowledge, he will build power, and perhaps he will even find love again? Follow Alan through his adventures, and find out for yourselves how he deals with the challenges thrown at him by a new world, while struggling with the issues brought with him from his old one. * Author’s note: A fair warning. This is the first time I’ve published anything, and basically the first time I’ve written anything more than mandatory school-stuff. The story will probably have inconsistencies, grammatical errors (not my native tongue, though that excuse is getting old), and potentially confusing (missing?) plot. I will naturally do my best to write something worth reading, but my main goal in writing this story is to have fun and explore the limits of my own creativity. My hope in publishing it here, is that I’ll reach someone who enjoy the story, and can push me forward towards writing more, as it is difficult at times to find the motivation to write just for myself. Additionally, I can’t really promise to have regular updates, as I have a full-time job that often likes to take the ‘full-time’ part literally, and a sporadic social life that occasionally surprises me (happy surprises mostly, so I shouldn’t complain). I’ll aim for once a week to start with, and take it from there. Happy reading! Cover photo by Jeff Hire (/photographer/gun4hire-58415), from https://freeimages.com/.

The Arcanist Seer
An eye of which sees everything beyond the skies and heavens saw an embodying fate with reek of blood and greed. He who sees the future and yet is restrained by his own shackles of his destiny. An eye that serves a purpose but nothing in exchange for his freedom. Will he remain as a tool of his adversary or escape from his own shackles of fate? This is a story of two old men trying to free from the shackle of their destiny set in a future only to await their impending doom. This is a story of a dead god, and of a storyteller, trying to break from the bonds of the past. And as their stories go, one of them will face the events that unfold in their distant past, as the other one will unveil its mystery predicted by its future. Is it a mistake to challenge fate, after all? *** The world-building is set upon on the universal scale, with dungeon and old-style fantasy. It has a progression that follows with the consistency of a dungeon setting, although it's not what you call a dungeon, but a function of a crystal. There's a lot to take in this novel, but that's all within my intention. I have always enjoyed challenging conventional ideas. The cover is not mine, it's just temporary.

The Hunt
Cecily's blade swung, hitting its mark as always. The man's arm fell to the cold grass of the prison with a familiar thud. He let out a blood curdling scream. A warning to the rest. Stay away, the Hunter is here. That's the name they'd given her, the Hunter. After she cut off the man who tried to rape hers masculinity, they stayed away. She'd made it clear anyone who tried to touch her would be hunted and slaughtered. Cecily kneeled down, pushing the man's face into the dirt so she could use his back as a seat while she trifled through his belongings. "You're hurting my ears," she told him, no remorse in her voice. "Quiet down before I really do kill you."The man but his lip, well aware that she wasn't lying. Sobs shook him, making for an uncomfortable seat. She, however, didn't particularly feel the beed to kill him. It happened, not often, but it did. "Oh, hush up," she hissed, taking out a bag of rations with her metal hand, "it doesn't hurt that bad."With her good, human hand, she dropped the plastic bag of food into her own bag. She pushed up, off the man back. As she was about to walk away, bag slung over her shoulder, brushing against her autumn colored braid, she turned back to him. "Consider yourself lucky," she said, no hatred in her voice, there never was. "Consider yourself lucky that you didn't do anything stupid. And even luckier if one of the scum bagged criminals in here feel a little light in their hearts and help you. Consider yourself luckier if you die there."With that, her old black and white Nike sneakers carried her off into the brush of the huge prison.
