《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 8 - Realization

I woke up in a rusty grey cell, my head hurting and pain coursed through my body. Even though I was lightheaded, I still remember vaguely what happened. My mother was dead, and an army has captured me, it seems that my luck had run out quite early today... or yesterday. I don't know how long I was in that murky black darkness.
I had so many questions in which no one would be able to answer, and I began to panic. A soldier fully plated in iron armour appeared in front of the cell. I saw that he had an incarnate weapon on his belt, and he had cuffs in his hands. I put on the handcuffs without hesitation and walked with the guard, even though I was slow, he didn't care.
"Move," The guard commanded, pulling on the chain which connected to the cuffs.
Knowing my luck, I kept my mouth shut and moved. We walked for what I guessed was twenty minutes before he pushed me into a room. It had a very unpleasant smell; there were no windows. The only things that filled the room was a dim lamp, two chairs and a table.
"Wait here," The guard ordered before closing the door and locking it.
"It's not like I can go anywhere,"
I was stuck in that room, the door locked, so I sat down on one of the chairs and began to whistle on of my favourite tunes. After I completed my whistling a song, the door unlocked and someone came in. With a crown on his head and knowing his appearance, he was the King of Onsice: Nicholas the great.
With short golden hair and green emerald eyes, being a head and a half taller than me, I could see that it was him. 'The great' part of his title was self-announced, and not much was known about the King's life when he isn't on the throne.
I was shocked. I was to see that the King has come to see me, he looked at me with disbelief. The King's staff glowed a bright red that red light floated into the lamp where it became lit. The King sat down and looked at me.
"Greeting's child, I am the ninety-second king of the royal throne, and I suspect you know why you're here?" The King spoke.

"Not a clue your majesty," I replied with a smile.
Suddenly the King's strong personality completely turned the other direction. He summoned his incarnate weapon in under a second and stabbed my left hand with it. It was a short golden sword, with a green orb on the hilt.
"Listen here you little prick, we know what power you have, so after the few questions we ask you, we're gonna kill you, and if you don't, we'll still kill you," The King snarled.
"AaAaAah," I answered in pain.
"Now then, question one, why did you blow up a decent amount of Daishin, one of the nearest towns to the capital?"
"I didn't blow it up; it was a demon with an explosion curse,"
Suddenly the sword that the King held was stabbed right through my hand, I screamed in agony again.
"We don't believe you so I'll ask you another question, who was that Demon?" The King asked.
I didn't answer, and I just felt that my aura became quite strong, which frightened the King. I took the blade out of my hand, and the wound healed almost instantly. It was just like with the demon incident, but I could control my body, which healed instantly. I calmed myself and sat back down, now waiting for the King. After a while, he also sat back down with his staff.
"Now, if a demon blew up Daishin and you killed it, how did you survive the explosion?" The King sputtered out.
"I don't know how I survived, I went flying when the explosion happened, but I was knocked out when I hit the hill," I replied with.
Suddenly a man entered the room, and both the King and I looked at him. His body was slim, and he was wearing leather clothes. His hair was all black, and his eyes were blood red. When the man came closer to me, I could feel his aura; it was overpowering.
"Let me deal with him your majesty," The man spoke to the King.
"Uh, yes I should go, and you deal with him... Jododam," The King responded with before leaving the room.
As shocked as I was to see that the King obeyed someone else, I was quite worried about who took his place. After the King left the room, the new person immediately looked straight at me with a glare; he wasn't even trying to cover up his aura. Eventually, also he calmed down and sat on the other chair and turned the lamp down, so it emitted less light. After that, he finally introduced himself.

"Greetings young one, I am Jododam Blutrot, a superior archdemon subordinate of his majesty, please don't be scared of me, this time, ask me a question," He spoke with a kind tone.
"I am Dyne, I have no last name, and why am I here?" I asked Jododam.
"Well, when we heard there was an explosion, a nearby battalion mistook you for some sort of shooting star, they went to investigate, and they saw you cratered in a hill, they took you back to Onsice for questioning,"
"I didn't cause the explosion, I killed a demon, and he exploded,"
"Well, a demon with a curse that such a lowly peasant couldn't defeat complex,"
"What did you say!"
I got out of my chair and flipped over the table to look straight into Jododam's red eyes. He sucker-punched me in the stomach, and I fell back onto a wall. As by how strong he was, I was grateful that I calmed down before I attacked again. After Jododam punched me, he examined his fist like he was looking for injuries. After a while, he got his seat and sat down.
"Strange, I've never seen such a unique source in all my life," Jododam uttered with a shocked face.
"What source?" I asked Jododam.
"Your body appears and is human, but your soul is… like mine,"
"What does that mean!?"
"It means that you are a hybrid Dyne, the first known human and demon hybrid in history, do you know how it was done?"
My legs failed me again, and I fell to the floor, I'm a part-demon, I'm half of the thing that killed my mother. But how? My father and mother were human, so how can this be?
"That's a lie, my father and mother were both human, so how can I be half-demon!" I yelled at Jododam
"You might've had interference when your soul was still being grown," Jododam answered with, his right hand placed on his chin.
"What do you mean?"
"It means that when you were in the womb, something or someone made your soul a demon, you can't change it back,"
"Well what do I do now, I have nowhere to go, and I have no money!"
"Well, that experiment can use a few more subjects?" Jododam muttered.
"What experiment, did I do something wrong?"
"This experiment consists of twenty to thirty members of teenagers with great potential; we unlock that potential by training them, although you'll be put into new bodies,"
"So, my so-called 'potential' you can tap into and strengthen my abilities?"
"You are correct, are you in?"
Jododam then held out his hand to me. I got up and looked him straight in the eye, figuring out what I should do. If I don't shake, I'll be left alone, a stray with no place to go home. If I do, I'll grow more robust, and strength is what I needed at the moment.
I reached my hand over to shake his, I grabbed his hand, and the deal was sealed, I had just then, made a deal with a devil. Suddenly Jododam put his head straight next to mine.
"Right choice, but I'm sorry what I'm about to do," Jododam whispered in my ear.
I heard a crack in my neck and was knocked out, but this is different, this wasn't a pitch black. I stood in front of the mirror; I was staring at a black mist. The reflection of the fog then shattered into thousands of pieces and what stood in front of me was a complete replica of me, but with black hair. The reflection then pointed at me even though I wasn't looking at myself.
Suddenly my reflection said, "Wake up".
I opened my eyes to see that I have been transported to a fancy bedroom. I look around to see where I should go. I go towards what I expected the bathroom to wash my face. I walked there with weakness and fell into the sink.
Not knowing how to use the sink, I moved one of the nozzles, and cold water poured out of the tap. I splashed some water onto my face and sighed, which was full of relief. Afterwards, I looked up to see what has changed but… not what I had expected.
