《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 42 - Grey Skin

I just looked at Lance blankly, in the state I was in, we would probably come to a draw if a fight broke out. He was injured, his incarnate weapon was nowhere on him; meanwhile, I had no right arm and tail, as well as just being exhausted.
'Now I have to explain it to him.' I thought 'About what just happened,'
"Answer me! What did you do," He said again.
"Perhaps you should open your eyes, Lance; I killed Ren,"
Lance looked to the still blue corpse. "That's Ren, but he looked like Dyne last time I saw him,"
"When he died, his soul ability also stopped, this is what he truly looks like,"
"B-but he looked like Dyne, last time I saw him, the sun hasn't even moved since you began to fight,"
"A lot can happen in a short time, people die, the plant grows, and I could've ended the real Dyne's life."
Lightning crackled around my body again; it seems the emotions of killing Ren hadn't worn off yet. I settled down back, and felt the earth shudder around me, knowing Lance, he was the source of it.
"Oh great weapon, Incarnation of my soul, show yourself and aid my fight!" Lance's amber rapier with its white blade appeared in his right hand. I smiled before beginning to chant as well.
"Oh great weapon, Incarnation of my soul, show yourself and aid my fight." The chains on my back and left hand began to grow from my markings; it seemed that my fight wasn't over yet.
Lance used his earth source to create a small ledge which he used to dash at me. He put his hand back and tried to surprise me with a quick attack; it didn't work. Unlike Lance at that moment, I wasn't corrupted by anger.

I moved to the side and quickly lengthened the chain on my left hand. Lances sword went through a link of my chain and in that moment, I also flung it up, removing my enemy of his weapon. Using the rest of my chain, I curled it around his blade and stabbed Lance in the left shoulder, the tip of his rapier reaching his elbow.
"Aaaaaaaaahhhhh!!" He began to scream in pain, looking at me with hatred. "I was going to use this later on, but I know something you probably don't demon!"
I looked at Lance with a confused face, wondering what he was uttering about.
"Frederick, he named his incarnation weapon when he got it, but one thing is special about naming it, it strengthens your soul and your weapon, he wasn't strong, to begin with, I was,"
"What are you saying?"
"With the god Drundon as my witness, I at this moment name my incarnate weapon, Destiny's Earth!"
In Lance's right arm another rapier appeared, but instead of amber, it was a bright emerald colour. Lance pierced my left lung, just missing my heart. Even though I could've lived with a pierced heart, I was too weak at the time.
I pretended to lose consciousness and put all my weight on him; Lance was now holding me with his sword. My left arm was now barely holding onto his back, and my mouth was right next to his right ear.
"You should've… tried harder…" I pretended to say in a weak voice.
I grasped his back, crushing some of his ribs and spine. Lance began to scream again in agony, and in that time, I jumped back making his rapier exit me before tearing his right arm off and plunging it into his left palm. Lance now had no arm's that were in a condition to fight; it was my victory.

I noticed some blood trickled out of the wound, which was closing at a moderate pace. I decided to dip my fingers in my blood and walked back to Ren's corpse. I knelt and using my fingers; I closed his eyes before dabbing my blood onto his eyelids. I put my left hand on his head and began to mutter.
"For the demon who has fallen, for the demon which is my enemy, I acknowledge you, may we fight again in the next life."
I got up and plunged oubəɹɐɔɥʇ into the right side of my chest. Slowly and painfully, my body absorbed oubəɹɐɔɥʇ, and my right arm and tail began to grow back painfully. After a while, my right arm became till it stopped and my elbow while my tail fully healed.
I walked up to Lance again and wrapped my tail around his abdomen, before lugging him onto my back. I began to walk out, and because I felt kind, took out Lance's sword from his arm and put his disembodied limb back into place using some of his blood as a sacrifice.
"For the ones weaker to the elements, may the ancient blood bestow upon me our healing to him,"
I looked at Lance and saw that his tired eyes began to open wide. He then set his gaze onto me, and not with any killing intent.
"Why did you do this?" Lance regained consciousness. "Why did you just save me?"
"Because I didn't want to kill you, and if I did, I couldn't come back to Antrite, you also saved the woman who will become my wife, forgive the pain I made you endure,"
"I forgive you,"
"Thank you, Lance, my friend."
I walked with him on my back before laying him onto the ground with Sashal beside him. I smiled at Lance before running back to get Ren's corpse. I entered the room again and saw something green close; Ren's body was no longer there.
I smiled and remembered what Ren said minutes before death. The man who told Ren where I was was just here; I could feel his aura still lingering in the air.
'If I ever find him, I should hope that he's not an enemy.'
I walked back and saw that Lance or Sashal had not moved, before remembering what I needed to do. I ran up to Sashal and made an icicle before nicely cutting my skin open. A mass amount of blood then poured out of it and began to drip into Sashals mouth, also revealing the muscle underneath.
Instead of the usual red, it was a dark grey, Lance saw this and asked me a question.
"What happened to you during that fight,"
"It revealed how far I'll go to get the victory to me, right now, I can never admit defeat."
The wound quickly healed, and Sashal gulped the blood down, I immediately checked for a heartbeat before resting on some nearby debris. I smiled and then blacked out again, in that state, all I heard were the screams of Sahsal and Lance, I quickly woke up, noticing that I slept for less than a minute.
I tightened my left hand and began to grit my teeth.
'So that's how much I hate defeat, enough to rot me into infinity.'
I looked at Lance who just fell asleep, and I smiled, looking at how far I will go, not to show weakness.

Most of it is already written, but I'm going through the chapters and editing the shit out of them. This story is NOT a Lit-RPG, so no blue screens or anything of the sort. It is just fast-paced fiction with slight cultivation elements. Updates are bi-daily (so every 2 days), and chapters are 1500-3000 words. As always, feedback is more than welcome. Why are you still reading the synopsis? You have already decided. Go ahead, give this story a shot. It's worth it.
