《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 43 - Winter

"'Dark spirit and soul', did Kirigaya write this?" I was sitting in a chair in Jododams private library, right next to the fireplace and Rowan next to me. With the book in my hand, I opened it again moving onto the next page.
"He said he wrote it half a millennia ago," Rowan replied on Kirigayas behalf.
"Those fake creatures, what were they called again, angles, gangles?"
"They're called angels, people with feathered wings on their back,"
"Grey wings, I have to say, very menacing,"
"I-i know,"
"I'm glad that you can control your advanced source of time, mind if you tell me what you have? Time stop, Time freeze, skip time, reverse time?"
"That I will keep a secret,"
"I understand,"
"Kirigaya told me that he got the idea of the angel from a dragonoid he met a long time ago, what was her name, Alicia?"
I closed my book hard, creating a large bang. Due to Rowan's fearful attitude, he tried to protect himself with a copy of his book.
"Rowan, ask Kirigaya now how he knows about that Dragonoid?"
"She… She was a friend of his in one of his older reincarnations,"
"I see, Rowan my friend, I think it's time for you to go, I need to rest,"
"Are you still feeling it, your grey muscles? From Ren?"
"It's been a week since I killed him, but yet, I still feel it,"
"I see, I'll be seeing myself out,"
"My gratitude,"
Rowan left the room, leaving me alone again. I looked outside, thinking how long it was since I couldn't see the outside through a window. The seasons in Onsice change quickly, another reason why the city is located where it is. It changed to winter in the short time I was away, my favourite season now since it went nicely with my advanced source of ice.

I felt a soothing yet angry aura, it was Jododams. The aura was being emitted above me, so I jumped and moved to the next floor. As expected, he was sitting in his chair, doing work, but he still found my ability to move through solid objects intrigued him. Jododam began to clap so I bowed.
"It still amazes me, that ability, that you can disappear and reappear in an instant, shift between Antrite and Antral at your own will, although you don't use that often," Jododam said slowly.
"I take that as a compliment, but why did you call for me? I still haven't recovered, parts of my body are still grey from my fight,"
"I know, I know, it's just, something about the guild,"
I looked towards him with a confused glare, the guild, Dark Grimoires, why did he want to talk to me about it.
"You know how guilds are a meeting place for mercenaries?" Jododam continued.
"I did know that, but I haven't been or thought about the Dark Grimoires for almost two weeks, so what's wrong?"
"You've been called for a mission, by a man stronger than me,"
"Information please,"
"I'm talking about the highest possible royalty, I'm talking about the Demon King,"
"I'm flattered that he asked for me, but I probably have the strength of a rank five archdemon. What does he want with me?"
"First of all, well done for not freaking out when hearing Demon King, second of all, you are a rank three archdemon, and finally, he also wants your fiance and your old teammates,"
I began to smile. "Lucyfer, Astaroth, Xirax and Abatson, how are they doing?"
"Well, Lucyfer is now rank a four greater demon which is good for her, and everyone else is below that,"

"Anyone else and how long before I leave? After those two questions are answered, I will take my leave, the cold agrees with my soul," I put out my hand and created a detailed Replica of Jododam standing up out of ice.
"His majesty's son and you'll be going in a week, I'll be revealing more parts of the mission throughout that time,"
"My gratitude Jododam, I'll be taking care,"
Instead of just falling back onto the floor underneath me, I decided to leave via the attended way, the door. I opened it and closed it just as fast, as soon as Jododam couldn't see me anymore my body began to shake.
'The demon prince, what type of mission is this if the demon king's son is on this,'
I calmed down and remembered something, Kirigaya knew Alicia. A weird duo I had to say, but I'm not surprised that two immortal beings that wander the earth would've met up eventually. Another reason I was wondering is that Kirigaya told Rowan that information, not only that but some of Shinris memories I saw of both of them close to each other in her memory.
I found Rowan's soul, which was quite easy since his soul was a light orange, so I began to move through walls and snuck up behind him.
"I'm back," I whispered in his ear.
Rowan jumped in fear and looked at me with tearful eyes. I smirked before chopping him on the neck, making him pass out. I picked Rowan up and began to run throughout the mansion, quickly making my way out towards the courtyard.
I looked to my right, seeing the forest of dead and decaying trees. So I began to make my way through the path that I made. I made my way through the path and found the lake which I haven't been near for a fortnight.
I layed Rowan down on a nearby tree and began to make my way closer to the lake. I was halfway there when a similar white dash came sprinting towards me and tried to chop off my head. Since I could see it, what I simply did was move to the left.
The white dash missed and began to slow down, finally stopping at a still Alicia. Her expression changed to a shocked one as she saw my new body.
"It's been a while Dyne,"
"Indeed it has, Alicia, dragonoid of the blood mist,"
“Indeed it has, Alicia, dragonoid of the blood mist,”

ARMOR
I was created as the ultimate dungeon trap: a living suit of armor that devours any adventurer who dons me. My master created me for his entertainment, leading adventurers to ruin and betraying them at the last moment. This time will be no different. Or so I thought. Now I'm living the life of an adventurer. Hopefully, my companions won't realize I'm not who, or what, they think I am. *Now updating Tuesdays and Thursdays Additional tags I couldn't include: Romantic subplot This story is meant to be a book rather than a serial, there will eventually be an ending. It is also my first book length work so while I intend to do my best, mistakes and issues will occur.
