《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 63 - Glad

The ship’s journey only took half the time, something surprising to me. The old boat was for more protective purposes, while this one was made of a light and weaker wood, more natural to traverse through the water.

After seeing Prima, I decided to fly back, it took me a good while, as I wasn’t in a hurry, just gently flapping my wings, still getting used to them. It was a strange feeling flying since I had no instincts, unlike a bird, it was harder for me to fly, as I had to focus on them.

I made my way towards Prima, as I landed at the port, my wings exhausted. There, a man was waiting for me, a man who I have not seen in a while. The demon with three souls, Krayme, as his eyes was white. He walked up to me, hesitantly, since he could feel how powerful I had grown since he had last seen me.

“Ah Dyestral, how are you?” He asked, rubbing his hands together.

“Quite well, and you?”

“Marvelous, Lord Blutrot couldn’t make it, so he had brought me this letter, you will meet him at the capital of Tori.” He handed me the letter, and I examined it.

It was an ordinary white letter, with a wax seal that had a red droplet on it, the Blutrot symbol. I opened it, burning the paper with lightning, revealing what was inside of it. I then opened the document, which was once inside the letter and began to read it.

‘Dear Dyestral,’

‘I’m afraid I can’t see you at the moment, but Krayme will guide you to me.’

‘Sashal and Quinn have been worried, I am not sure what you did on your trip, but they are much closer than what they once were.’

‘I do hope you have recovered… and I will see you soon.’

‘Yours truly, Jododam Blutrot.’

‘Simplistic as ever’ I thought, burning the letter with my lighting. “Where do we go now?”

“We go, to Tori, the domain of where royalty lies,”

“Fancy.” We entered a carriage, and I slept the entire way, no nightmare, nothing weird, just a dream, which I could not remember.

The next thing I knew was that I was in bed, still in my clothes. Quickly getting up, I changed into a more formal arrangement and decided to walk around. There was one thing for sure: I have never been here before.

The hallways were wide and high, detailed in yellow and gold. Footsteps came from behind me, before stopping, it was so silent that it became an echo. I turned around, looking to see beauty incarnate.

Her symmetrical face, rose red eyes, and the ring I had on my finger was on hers. Sashal was there, and she was happy. She ran up to me and put her arms around me, squeezing me tight.

“It’s great to see you,” She whispered in my right here, before letting go of me.

“As to you,” I replied, bowing.

“It’s been ten days,”

“And I have only known you for a month,”

“Not the point,” A blood dagger came out of Sashals ring into placing it in her hand, she put it at my throat, “you’re the closest man I’ve ever been to, and you didn’t come back with us,” I walked up to her, putting my arms around her and squeezed her.

“I missed you too, but ask the people who went there a rampage,”

“But why?”

I sighed, frozen tears coming from my face “Because I met someone there, and a bond between us had already grown, a man, that I couldn’t just… forget something,” Those tears were fake, but I did see why she was sad.

“What?”

“...I….I… I don’t know, but what happened, I needed that time, and I thank-” The dagger had pierced my chest, making my way into the veins, the attack was coming from her, but why. I saw the hilt connect back to Sashal’s ring and she looked at me as I knelt to the ground, in weakness.

“I didn’t like it when you left, and a heartfelt apology won’t make everything right, you have to win it back!” By the time she was done speaking, her blood had already covered every vein in my body, slowly draining my blood.

It was horrible, as a vampire, not to mention a starstrider, it was painful, as my very body was tormented by Sahsal, the woman I was closest to. Losing my sight, I felt as though I was about to pass out before I heard something come my way.

A shuriken of some sort cut Sashal’s blood tie, and I immediately felt better. Looking at the shuriken, I reminded me of a small portal with a jagged outline, before I decided not to hit the wall, and return to its owner, which was Quinn.

I looked at him to see that he was in perfect health; I also believed that he did not receive any wounds when we were on that island. Looking behind him, I saw who I expected to be Jododam, that or his blood clone.

I got up, lightning crackling around me, hitting anything metal, burning it. Quin put both his hands in front of him, and slowly lowered them, telling Sashal and me to calm down. I did, although I was still resilient at the time, all I felt then was anger.

“It is a great pleasure to see you two again, Quinn, Jododoam,” I bowed.

“We feel the same why Dyestral, Sashal, what are you arguing about? A lover’s quarrel,” Jododam replied.

“Don’t even suspect that!” Sashal and I both yelled at him, looking at each other.

“The blood moon that appears every so often makes us vampires… have a need, one that can only be pleasured by the opposite gender, and it’s fine, as you are already fighting with each other like a married couple.”

I looked at Sashal another time, I forgot the reason why we had matching rings, it was arranged, but I felt a connection like no else. Our eyes locked, staring into each other’s deepest desires, and at that moment, we both knew what we needed to do. It was as though the very mention of the blood moon had calmed us down, back to that night.

“Why don’t we seal it, let’s get married,” We said simultaneously.

“I would hope that would happen, but… I don’t have the -” Jododam was cut off.

“Royalty can arrange anything as long as they are present, I know vampires admire their ancestors more than Drundon, but I do hope it will happen, we’ll leave you be.” Quinn turned around and began to walk, making the same gesture as he did on the island, Jododam following him soon after.

I went up to Sahsal and looked at her. It was the right decision. We embraced each other, again, giving a kiss to one another. Not a thing could ruin that moment, as it was the beginning, the beginning of the time I will spend happily with my other.
