《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 75 - Bond

Before the king could follow up with another attack, I landed on one of his swords and kicked him. As my foot hit, so did Azure’s spell to the head as well, a kick on the king’s other side of his head. It wasn’t enough to knock him out, so the king began to engulf himself in a ball of flame and wind.
We both back off before I dashed at the king and went through him, wrapping my chains around his clothes, flying into the town. Everyone planned this, I would fly around the castle as fast as I could, signalling the attack, and now it was time.
The king’s power surprised me, and for some reason, he wasn’t struggling but was still in a bright orange ball. I picked up speed and began to circle the castle, hitting the walls, spires and anything else I could do.
During that time, I began to change into my demon form, as black lightning started to crackle, and I was able to circle the entire castle every few seconds. I began to freeze my body, as I was burning up, releasing the steam at the tips of my fingertips, wings and tail.
I stopped all of a sudden, and let my chains go, as Azure laid down a barrage of blue fireballs around the king. After the last missile had hit, all the damage I had done to the castle, finally took place. I a single second, the walls began to crumble, everything began to fall.
The king spoke, yelling, his red sphere he was hiding in expanded. Azure created a shield out of his blue flames, which engulfed him, whilst I made a massive shield out of ice, it was at least ten times taller than I.
As Azure was flung into the falling debris of the main castle, I was aimed much higher, the force of his attack took me into the clouds and above. In a matter of moments, I had been propelled hundreds of metres up. I gained my balance in the sky and locked back onto my target before a pulsating pain appeared in my body.

It dissipated just as quickly as it had appeared, I was confused, but then I remembered that my body was becoming a vessel for a spirit.
“I’ve linked with your body,” Kirigaya explained. “Now I just need to see what you are doing,”
My eyes began to burn, as well as the area around it. I tried my best to calm it, cooling my body, enforcing my source near the area to heal it, but it was no use. It wasn’t my body which was hurting; it was my soul.
As soon as the pain subsided and Kirigaya remained quiet, I took a deep breath and began to control the clouds. I could sense the ice and water that made clouds, and very slowly, energy from the clouds started to change.
Small chunks of ice bumping into each other, I could feel the energy course through the clouds, it wasn’t from me, but I was controlling them. Very quickly, lightning began to course through the clouds, not striking the ground, but rather around me.
A bright white ring appeared around me before it was absorbed into me. What I was doing had increased my lightning source. Another reason why I didn’t return to the battle immediately was something that even the king could reattack.
I began to compress the cold mist, which was clouds, all over Onsice, I began to squeeze them and drag them to me. Lightning began to strike me again, coursing through my veins, which I then used to compress the clouds even more.
Very quickly, a highly compressed cloud had covered me, as the sky around Onsice turned to a clear day, all except a small black cloud above the destroyed castle. I then nose-dived back into the castle, seeing the king and Azure still fighting.

I felt a glare from both of them, and Azure smashed the ground underneath him, escaping my attack. In the cloud that was around me, I began to create icicles from the mist, as they fired towards the king.
Seeing this, he began to spin his swords to eliminate the icicles, but I was smarter than that. Three icicles I sent to the side, all at different times. One of them hit the other two, allowing it to change direction, which hit the kings left shoulder.
I saw blood drip down onto his white robes, as he let his guard down. Azure then erupted from the ground and punched him higher into the air. I used him as a stepping stone, grabbed the kings sword which he let go, and swung it at him, creating a massive gash.
Blood spurted on me, as he fell, and just as quickly, it was absorbed into my body. Before the king began to fall from the impact, he smiled, as his sword began to shrink. Very quickly, the hilt wrapped around my hand, before it dismembered part of my hand, as well as four of my fingers.
The injury quickly stuck itself back together, and a massive sound was heard at the bottom. I looked down and saw an enormous dust cloud coming towards us. It didn’t propel Azure or me, it just blinded our common vision, but it was a shame I could also see the souls and source flow around me.
The dust cloud did have some flow, the same colour as the king’s sword, a weird murky green. It then hit me what the kings’ soul ability was, to increase or decrease the size of objects.
No one knew the king’s soul ability other than his closest subjects, but something scarier appeared in my mind, could he use it on us. I denied that fact, as he would’ve already used it on us if he could.
I told Azure my findings in the dust cloud, and his wings of fire grew larger and flapped away from the dust cloud. The king began to fly up; a small red tornado was underneath him. Seeing this, Azure clicked his finger, and the flying debris around the area, burst into blue flames before they quickly raced towards the king.
Seeing this, I used the rest of the cloud and turned it all into icicles which then appeared behind the blue flames. The king’s swords seemed back in his hands as he sliced up any incoming attacks.
As the attacks ran out, the king tried to cut me in half, Azure and I flew out of the attack. His wound had healed, and the king showed no sign of stopping now. The castle had crumbled, people were dying, and the actual fight had just begun.

The 8th Day
One day life is good. The next day it isn't! The boundaries between... well, whatever they're between.. have shattered! Monsters burst out from cracks in the universe, and reality suddenly begins to function similar to a game -- but not a game that anyone knows all the rules about! Magic is suddenly real, but so are monsters and death! Lots of death! And the worst part of it all? I think we did it to ourselves! We invented video games, and personally I think that great Finger-in-the-Sky picked up a console somewhere and started playing them. Since He liked what he saw, he must've declared, """"On the 8th Day, let there be Game!"But what do I know about it all, really. After all, I'm just """"The Witness"""" forced to observe it all.__________________________________________________________________________Author's Note: There's a lot of tales where characters get stuck in a Virtual Reality. """"Sword Art Online"""", """"Log Horizon"""", """"The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor"""". This is a story told with the premise inverted -- instead of a person from reality going into a virtual world, what would happen if the virtual world instead came to reality?I want this tale to speak about the aspects of the game, as it has affected the current reality, but the focus of the story should never be on the """"reality-turned-game"""" itself, but on the characters and their oh-so-human struggles, personalities, and attempt to adjust and live within the bounds of their new existence. Hopefully this won't just be a story of """"reality turned into a game"""", but instead will be something more meaningful such as a story of the strengths, perseverance, and humanity of man-kind as they try to adapt and face the unknown.*** And, most importantly, I hope everyone enjoys reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it. ***WARNING: RATED MATURE M[18+] FOR GORE, SEX, VIOLENCE. The apocalypse isn't a pretty place to try to survive in, and neither is every scene in a story trying to describe it.
