《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 78 - Electric

‘Faster, faster, faster!’
The same word echoed in my head every second, I’m not sure why, but the massive vat held some sort of energy which attracted me like a moth to a flame. Was it power, immortality, the truth? Even I didn’t know, all I did was to take a risk, face-first into a possibility to defeat the king once and for all.
No tricks of regenerating, no horridness of sacrifices of his civilians, just a way to end this battle. At one moment, I felt a boom behind me, and everything other than the flaps of my wings could’ve been heard, I broke the speed that sound travelled.
No help from lightning, no sacrifices, I was flying faster than I have ever before, and so did the king. I looked behind me, and I saw the king losing distance, he couldn’t keep up with me, with his fire and wind source, as I kept surpassing him getting quicker and quicker.
The castle came into my horizon, as I focused on the sky, and a lightning bolt came from me flying in the sky. I hope Azure saw it, as I was getting closer to where we once were, I began to hear Kirigaya whisper in my ear words I couldn’t comprehend, and in a few seconds, I was in front of the vat, still at full speed.
Azure had already opened the door, and there I saw it, rods filled with a source that I only knew as lightning, but it did have another name I heard once, electricity. Although it didn’t matter, the mysterious energy was compatible to me, I didn’t know how or why it was there, but I grabbed onto the rods, and I allowed the energy to flow into me.
Screaming was heard before I stopped hearing everything. I couldn’t feel a new energy-burning my body; I couldn’t see it, I couldn’t taste or smell the light iron scent of the vat, everything turned into a bright blue haze for me.

I kept calm, as my senses regained, my vision turning into black, before a lightning bolt struck it, revealing my markings, like the time on the island. My vision turned to an electric blue, my markings became black, before my vision turned to black and my markings turned to an electric blue.
Faster and faster, they changed so quickly, so fast that the markings became both electric blue and black at the same time. I closed my eyes and woke up, I was in a destroyed vat, my markings were still black, but my skin was an electric blue.
I felt the heat from the king enter the room; his aura was filled with anger and hatred. I heard three steps before he began to laugh.
“Well, it seems you found that sacred energy fountain, pure of lightning, or as we called it electricity, that power, you’re body couldn’t handle it, your brother opened the battery too early, and now look at him, seizing on the floor,”
I wondered why the king couldn’t see me; perhaps he thought he had beaten me, maybe he couldn’t see me, or possibly, I was radiating so much source, that anyone would’ve died from it regularly. I knew I was alive, lying down, but when I looked at my body, I saw it.
I had no physical body in a sense, no, no permanent form, my body was just pure lightning. I was just a piece or raw source with a conscious, like a spirit, but Kirigaya was still with me, I could feel it.
I drowned out the kings laughs his monologue about victory, everything, focusing only on my body, no tail or wings, just what I used to be, before all of this, that is what I was trying to become.
My markings appeared in my mind, as I felt them appear over my body, acting as a bowl, which began to fill up with pure lightning energy. Starting with my feet and working up, I began to walk towards the king, out of a cloud of smoke.

When I stepped out of the haze, I saw the kings reaction to my body, which was now a pure electric blue, all except my markings, and my eyes. Looking down to my right, I saw that my right arm had appeared again, but it looked more unstable than the rest of my body.
“W-wha, I-i’ve been trying to get someone to absorb that amount of power, so how can you?” The king stuttered, stepping back.
“I don’t know,” I placed my hand over my left eye since I only could see black and white, but now, I can see clearly. This form, I could only feel it would last for a while, so I decided to get the most out of it.
I positioned my feet, looking at the king, as he began to twirl his swords in his hands.
“Well come on, I don’t care if you absorbed one of my ultimate creations, so now fight…”
The king couldn’t finish his sentence, since I appeared in front of him, striking him so hard, that he was propelled halfway across Onsice. I looked over my right shoulder, to see that Azure had disappeared, but at least he did one thing before he left, giving me a chance to complete my mission.
I jumped out of the floor, looking at the direction of where the king went. Subconsciously, my entire body became that of lightning, and I appeared at a confused king. Finally, I didn’t need to imitate lightning since I had become it.
The king took notice before I began to count my punches before his body reacted—five hundred punches, which propelled him to another place. I smiled and appeared behind the king as he was still in midair, kicking him up higher.
I began to smile, as we both began to climb the sky, getting higher and higher, he tried to fight back, but the king was too slow. His anger grew before he began to move his lips, but I was too fast to listen.
Sooner or later, I could see the port of Onsice, halfway across the kingdom, still climbing. It turned colder, the king’s skin began to turn blue, which spread from his fingers to the rest of his body, as I climbed higher with him.
I was running out of energy, my right arm had disappeared, and my left eye returned to normal. So in one last struggle, I grabbed the kings neck and also turned him into lightning, and in one previous attack of power, I doubled the height we were once at.
I jumped off the king, as I looked over the horizon, seeing the other side of the world, as it turned black. This battle, that power, it was exhilarating, and now it ended, only Drundon would know what would happen next, as everything faded to black.

The White Rabbit: Book 2
In the Urillian Empire, the Empress Xandra rules three-quarters of the planet Xren from her home in the capital of the Earth Continent. Both the fire and water peoples have fallen under her might after a series of wars stretching back three centuries. Earth elves, under Xandra's rule, have spread throughout the planet and established colonies, and are, by all accounts, enjoying what seems to be a prosperous and happy existence. But not everyone in Uril is happy. The holy books speak of elves as the Chosen People of Thesis, tasked with guiding and protecting the lower races. For some people, this scripture has been interpreted to designate their life as one on the lowest rungs of society. Humans have been reduced to a slave class, and serve their elven masters under Xandra's rule, kept at bay by the constant fear of the dreaded Emerald Knight, and their own perceived weakness. Humans do not lead long lives, nor do they possess the wisdom, power, or magical acumen of their elven masters. But there is hope. A group of people have banded together to fight against Xandra, her Knight, and her empire. They call themselves the "Knights of Order" united under the principle idea that Xandra's reign has brought chaos unto Xren, and they wish to restore order. These Knights are led by a man named Xaxac Brigaddon, spoken of as a legend. They say that when the moons are full, some humans transform into powerful beasts. They say that Xaxac is the most powerful warrior on Xren, that in his youth he was enslaved and forced to fight other humans to the death in a bloodsport called "cage fighting", that he could not be touched and held the world championship title for three years running until he faked his own death and escaped his master to join the resistance. They say that he has friends in high places- noblemen, pirates, and the devil himself. They say that if you can find him, he can ferry you to freedom in places where the Earth Elves fear to tread. They say that he is immune to magical attack, and his eyes shine like the silver moon. They say that he is descended from Quizlivian Brigaddon, one of the humans who helped the demon Magnus escape a god. They say that if you want to walk the Path of Order, you should follow the White Rabbit.Come and watch the transformation from human boy to Knight of Order: The life and times of Xaxac OfAgalon OfLangil Brigaddon. Content Warning: This work is based on the real experiences of human trafficing survivors. Xaxac's origins are based on true events, and they are presented realisitcally; this includes but is not limited to: isolation, gaslighting, emotional and sexual abuse, and grooming tactics. This work is meant to hold a mirror up to society; it is based on the real of experiences of people who have experienced slavery and/or abuse. It is an adult work and probably should not be read by anyone under the age of 18. If you are a survivor of human trafficing and/or abuse, your feedback is welcome, but please do not read this if you think it may trigger your trauma. I did not write this with the intention of harming anyone, but rather to provide accurate representation for a group that does not normally get it in the hopes of changing the zeitgeist. I would like to see a world where more people understand what these experiences are like, so that real survivors do not have to deal with microagressions from an ignorant public. Reader discretion is advised. This book does not display these elements as heavily as book 1.
