Chapter 3: Aren’t we supposed to kill bunnies first?
Standing at 2’6” tall, weighing in at 140 pounds, and covered in sleek grey fur, we have…. How do I do this?
“Use identify.”
Oh, [Identify]!
Son of Fenrir- Level 3
And the challenger, at 5’7”, weighing in at 120 pounds, and smelling like sheep, Sarah the demon-girl-person-thing!
“I think I should be concerned…”
Ding Ding Ding! The imaginary bells in Sarah's mind rang out to start the fight as she flung out a bolt of demonic mana towards the beast. Before it had even hit, she concentrated on forming another, knowing that this would not be as easy as she’d like. It was either the Level 3 wolves or the Level 5 goblins, I couldn’t find anything weaker to start my plans for global conquest, here goes nothing.
After a short squeal of pain from the beast, it turned and rushed towards the girl, only to be met by the second demonic bolt directly in its face. Continuing its charge out of sheer momentum, it blindly leapt towards where it last saw her. With the grace of a clearly inexperienced fighter, she threw her body to the side as the wolf ploughed itself into the bricks behind her. Despite the lack of style, this was all that was needed for her to fire a third and final bolt, striking the already near-death wolf unprepared and causing it to collapse.
“Your concentration under pressure is surprising, you have an aptitude for magical combat.”
Aren’t you supposed to be my inner demon? Kinda acting a bit too cheery.
“My years of torturing souls have taught me that acting kindly is an effective tool in gaining one’s trust and assisting them in progress. However, I would often follow that by ruthlessly destroying their hopes and dreams, so this is a learning experience for me.”
Much more in character.
You have levelled up.

“Each level will give you 5 stat points you can allocate. For now, with 24 total wisdom, 23 plus the title, you are able to call on plenty of mana, but your damage is lacking. You should increase your Intelligence.”

Allocate all 5 points to Intelligence.
She could only marvel at the feelings that came from the increase. A simple change in a number and she immediately felt that she could compress the mana when forming a bolt to a greater degree and deal more damage as a result. With 5 stat points given per level, she could estimate her high values of wisdom and intelligence were already equivalent to someone 5 levels above her maxing similar stats, and the high values showed with the ease in which she killed the Level 3 wolf.
Awesome. Also, why was the wolf called a Son of Fenrir, Isn’t that the wolf from Norse mythology? I figured this apocalypse had a more Christian vibe with the whole Lucifer thing.
“Many pantheons compete over your world, as they have done for a millennium. We have had limited contact with your world before, which is why your culture carries legends about us, but the system now allows us greater influence over this world. Whether it is the world of Heaven or that of Hell, or that of the Norse monsters and that of Asgard, we have all come to claim the world.”
She glanced around herself and saw another wolf prowling the edge of a building nearby, chewing on something that looked suspiciously like a human arm. Suppressing a gag, she pulled at the mana around her, condensing it into the shape of a bolt that she was becoming more and more familiar with, and with a swing of her arm launched it at the beast.
This time it missed.
However, before even checking if it was successful, she had already begun to build up another as the wolf locked onto her and began approaching. Barely 3 seconds before she had thrown her last bolt, a new one had arrived, but this time it was a direct hit on the Son of Fenrir, and it let out a howl as its eyes burned from the demonic spell.
But this did not stop its approach, and despite the pain it threw itself in her direction by scent alone. With a more practiced sidestep, she swung her arm right at its body and with a grunt she stabbed the knife she had enchanted into the side of the wolf. The 9 totaled strength showed its value as the knife penetrated deep into the hide of the wolf, and she could feel the mana she planted into the object seep into its body and cause damage to the creature. By the time the wolf had hit the ground, its rampage had already ended.

Just from looking at the wound, that appeared as if burning the wolf from the inside, she could see the damage she could deal with the weapon enchanted through her Level 10 [Ritual Magic]. Releasing the mana that she had already began to compress into another bolt, she cast her eyes towards the building the wolf had been lurking around.
Taking a look inside, she saw the mauled bodies of two people in the doorway, a man and a woman, and what looked like more bodies hidden under rubble from the building’s collapsed ceiling. Although the man’s clothes were ruined, she noticed a backpack under the body that had yet to be touched. Despite the urge to gag, and while attempting to make as little contact with the body as possible, she peeled the backpack of him. With a quiet apology to the body, she unzipped the bag and took a look inside.
The man must have gone for camping equipment when he saw what went down outside. Taking a look at the torch, rope, several cans of beans and most importantly a Glock G19 with an extra clip lying alongside. While not experienced she had some familiarity with guns and despite not owning any weapons herself she had once shot before with her mum in preparation for one of the action movies she had starred in.
Thanks mum for once.
Thinking about the possibility of enchanting the bullets, lucifer then spoke up; “The objects are too small to deal any significant damage, your guns will become useless as the monsters pass Level 10. Enchanting them may help, but the bullets are too weak to work on and the gun is too delicate to hold a strong enchantment for long, thus the weapon would degrade very quickly.”
But it would work?
“Temporarily, yes.”
She set to work enchanting the gun itself, as the bullets are too small to work on individually. Her experience of forming the demonic bolts allowed her to realize the difference of Level 10 [Ritual Magic]. Far more mana condensed over her blood onto the gun due to the ritual than what she herself was able to condense herself.
As she stared at her new and improved weapon, her musing was interrupted by the sound of growling from behind her. She quickly spun around in panic and was met with the sight of three wolves barely 10 meters away from her, staring with obvious hunger. As the first wolf leapt upon her, she swung her right hand holding the gun upwards and managed to fire two shots off quickly, the first missing wildly while the second luckily taking the beast in the head and erupting in fire from the demonic enchantment, instantly killing it.
The body of the dead beast collided with her and she was thrown to the ground, just in time as the second wolf landed on its dead counterpart, narrowly avoiding damaging her. In the collision, she was still able to keep a hold on the gun, and quickly brought it around to unload three shots on the wolf close by. As it fell to the ground, the third wolf grabbed onto the arm that was holding the weapon, before ripping a chunk out of her forearm. She could only drop the weapon and gasp in pain, reaching to her side and grabbing the knife with her left before wildly swinging it at the beast that was still chewing out pieces of her arm. With a resounding thud, the blade sunk inside its hide and the third beast let out a howl of pain before it collapsed as the demonic energy quickly tore around inside it.
You have levelled up.
She breathed out a sigh of relief, but before the adrenaline had even faded, she heard another howl nearby.
Accompanied by several more.

The Joker, The Trickster, and the Magician
Wolfram Sakimoto, an infamous criminal, was about to be executed in a secret military facility only to survive by a sudden earthquake that struck the whole world and turned it upside down. With the appearance of strange and absurdly powerful monsters, humans started their final struggle to survive this tragic calamity. Wolfram, however, found joy and not despair in this drastic change. A lunatic on the loose, without any morals to uphold, only his thirst to battle the strongest. PS: This story has a relation with RE;Hell Gate and Once Human, Now a Parasite. The Protagonist is eccentric, to say the least, so don't expect any heroic dude. He can be a madman and a hypocrite, if that is not to your taste, then this isn't a story for you.

Two And A Half Deadmen
Silver-Spruce is a very strange and very haunted town. Ghosts inhabit its buildings and walk its streets. Some of them friendly and sane. Some of them not so much. Alder helps ghosts. Helps them fulfill their last requests so they can move on to whatever comes next. Sometimes the ghosts aren't so friendly and have to be moved on by force. Alder does that as well. And he's gotten rather good at it too. After a particularly rough exorcism, he finds himself following a strange ghost to a local tourist attraction. And while Alder never means to find himself caught up in chaos, monsters, magic, and mayhem always seem to have a way of finding him. You want more specifics for what you're reading? Here you go: This is Urban-fantasy but a little bit of a different spin. Often the protagonists in such stories tend to be the bigger fish in their world, or at least far from small fry. Be they legendary boogie men or badass wizards (which is in no way a bad thing, I love a lot of those stories.) But I thought it would be fun to have a protagonist who's far closer to the bottom end of the scale. He has some magic, and it's potent in its own way. But he isn't the big dog or a fighting machine. Outside of his bubble of influence, our protagonist is essentially a normal human as far as powers are concerned. And while you should be warned that this story will get dark in some places it's (hopefully) balanced out by humor and the lighter stuff. I'm not sure how to end this synopsis section so I'll just say bye. Bye!
