Chen Long wasn’t dumb so when he saw Yun Tian didn’t kill the Elder immediately he knew he had a chance to save him. He also knew that even if Yun Tian was weaker than him, the fact that he did this and didn't show any fear towards him meant threats wouldn’t work. He couldn’t be overbearing here since he was trying to save the Elder’s life.

Thus, he said while bowing slightly “What do you want in exchange for his life? I am sorry for him not respecting the agreement. As you have respected your end so should we. Since we didn’t, I will give you something if you are willing to spare his life.”

Hearing this, the normal civilians and cultivators unaware of Chen Long’s evil deeds thought that he was a reasonable person. This made them have a good opinion of Chen Long. While normal people’s opinion didn’t matter too much to cultivators, it was still good to have a good image.

Yun Tian’s thoughts were much different than the uninvolved people though. As soon as he heard what he said, the angry expression on Yun Tian’s face, that appeared when the Elder tried to walk away, changed into a smile.

“Of course I will take his belongings since it was part of our agreement.”

As he said that he searched the Elder’s robe with his other hand and took his spatial bag along with his sword.

Then he turned to look at Chen Long again and said “As for the rest of what I want in exchange for his life…”

His lips curled up even further and he looked almost devilish as he said “How about whatever you have on you, except for your clothes of course?”

“If you want to fight me and try to take your stuff back, I am fine with that. You will just have to borrow a weapon from someone else. You will also need to bet something else...”

Then he thought for a moment and said “Ah! How about this, since I would already have everything you have, I will get everything from the rest of your Elder’s here if I win against you?”

Hearing this, the cultivators in the surroundings sucked in a cold breath. Yun Tian was trying to extort Chen Long of his possessions and also humiliate him at the same time.

Also, if Yun Tian got what he wanted, he would get the possessions of one late dantian building clan leader, an additional mid dantian building expert, and two more early dantian building experts since those were the other Elders here with Chen Long. All of them together had to have an astonishing amount of wealth.

Yun Tian had enough of people humiliating and taking things from him. He wanted to do it to others now, at least those who deserved it. Since they had come after him, he could do whatever he wanted to them without anything holding him back.

In fact, if it wasn’t for their backer he would have just outright stolen all of the Chen clan’s belongings. If he took their stuff through the bet’s they made, what could they say to their backer?

Even Shen Yu behind him thought his actions were right. He hadn’t killed them outright and instead challenged them with terms favorable to them. She was instead upset with the things that Yun Tian had to go through. If Yun Tian could just kill them right away she would rather that.

Her exact thoughts were ‘Anyone who harms Tian deserves to die horrible deaths! If they don’t die today to him, I will surely kill them in the future myself when we are strong enough.’

If others knew her thoughts they would think she was out of her mind. Yun Tian was strong enough to do this and she was still upset.

Yun Tian was just focused on what Chen Long would say and planned in his head.

‘If he doesn’t agree to my terms, I can also just outright attack them. Who cares about their backer?’

‘It’s just better for me if he agrees and if it’s better why would I take the harder path of just killing them?’

Chen Long stared at his Elder who was in Yun Tian’s grasp and fell into thought for a while.

All of a sudden he asked “If I say no?”

Yun Tian didn’t respond with words and instead moved his sword closer to the Elder’s neck and drew a little blood with a small cut.

Chen Long yelled “Stop!”

Then he sighed and said “I will do as you say, except I want to keep my sword for the fight. You will still get it along with possessions of the rest of my Elders if you win.”

Once again everyone drew in a cold breath at that. He had given in to Yun Tian except for a small change.

Yun Tian thought about refusing for a moment and looked at Chen Long’s face. He could tell that he wouldn’t budge on this.

‘If I say not to his change, I will have to fight him with his sword and his spatial bag anyway. At least this way I have his spatial bag before the fight starts. That was my goal anyway. I can do without the sword for now.’

With that Yun Tian said “Throw over the stuff now then and make sure you throw over all of the spatial bags you have on you. I’m sure you have more than one on you.”

Hearing this Chen Long’s face became a little stiff since his plan was indeed to just throw over the one currently on his waist. He assented in the end and said “Alright.”

With that everyone watched in anticipation as Chen Long first took out a sword in a sheath from a spatial bag on his waist. Then he hung the sword on his waist. After that he took out another spatial bag and from his robe and threw both spatial bags at Yun Tian who caught them in his free hand.

Once he caught them though, everyone noticed that the bright smile on his face became a little downcast.
