《The Strength of Duality (Newly Edited)》Chu Hong Intervenes

The force behind their attack meant he couldn’t take this person lightly no matter what so changed the direction of his attack and turned towards the incoming person. His sword clashed with theirs and created a noise so loud that everyone in town heard it.
Both Yun Tian and the peak dantian building expert were knocked several steps backwards from the intense collision.
Both of them regained their footholds after this and then sized each other up with great vigilance without attacking immediately.
Yun Tian inspected his new opponent. He was a middle aged man in green robes and based on this he quickly had a guess in mind as to who he was.
He had learned before that the Chu clan members usually wore green robes and along with this man’s strength he guessed him to be the Chu clan Leader, Chu Hong.
As he was inspecting him, so was Chu Hong. He hadn’t held back in his previous attack. Yet, Yun Tian was unharmed while protecting Shen Yu. His eyes basically oozed with surprise and interest as he inspected Yun Tian.
After they inspected each other, Yun Tian was the first to speak. He didn’t know why he was being attacked and Chu Hong was quite strong so he wanted to avoid this if possible, at least at this moment in time.
“May I ask why the Chu clan Leader is attacking me?”
Chu Hong was slightly impressed once more seeing as Yun Tian realized his identity, but not too much since it wasn’t that hard to realize.
He didn’t wait though and responded with a sigh “Hah. Unfortunately I can’t let you kill Chen Long.”
Hearing this, Yun Tian didn’t want to let it go right away. At this moment Chen Long was still using this opportunity to escape, but if Yun Tian hurried he could still catch up before he lost him.

Thus, he asked “Why can’t you allow me to kill him?”
He put particular stress on the part about him allowing Yun Tian to kill him. Yun Tian was asking his question, but at the same time saying that he didn’t need Chu Hong’s permission.
Hearing this Chu Hong didn’t take offence as he was basically in the wrong here since he knew all the bad things Chen Long had done.
He merely said the truth “I’m sure you already know that he has backers that won’t like it if you kill him. Well, it won’t just affect you. I also have backers and it is my duty to protect this place. You are an outsider and have already caused so much destruction and killed a Late dantian building expert.”
“If I were to continue to sit back and watch not only would Chen Long’s backers want me dead since I am supposed to be protecting this place, but so would my own backers.”
“Just so you know, I am close with Feng Bao so I also want Chen Long dead, alas I am not willing to give my own life nor those of my clan members for his.”
Hearing this Yun Tian was no longer as mad at this person that was stopping him as what he said made sense, but Yun Tian still said “So if I still try and go after him you will try to stop me thus fulfilling your duty correct?”
Chu Hong nodded and said “Yes.”
This made Yun Tian grin and say “As long as I get past you, then no one can blame you for not trying to stop me, correct?”
Yun Tian felt no heartache as the Chu clan would not be blamed this way since Chu Hong had intervened. Even if they did get blamed, he had no relation to them and Chu Hong was trying to stop him from getting revenge on people who tried to harm Shen Yu.

A large amount of his anger had dissipated upon killing the Late dantian Building Elder of the Chen clan, but there was still a fire burning in him calling for Chen Long’s blood. He was the mastermind who tried to harm Shen Yu.
If Chu Hong tried to stop him, then he may as well just be his enemy. He didn’t care about others too much. Shen Yu was all he had and anyone who tried to harm her had to die. He wouldn’t stop just because some people he didn’t know might get hurt.
Though, if they could fight and not become real enemies that would be even better. That was why Yun Tian said that.
Hearing what he said Chu Hong was surprised at first, but then laughed “If you want to try, you can, but I really will be giving it my all to stop you.”
“Still, whether you do make it past me or not, please forgive me for trying to stop you. I can’t let harm fall upon my clan.”
“One more thing, the other late dantian building Elder of my clan will be here soon, so if you want to try you should do it quickly.”
At that Yun Tian said “Then, let’s see whether you are capable of stopping me or not.”
With that, instead of charging to attack him, he used the fleeting steps skill to flash to the side. His plan was to not even fight him whatsoever and instead use his speed to get past him.
Seeing Yun Tian’s move Chu Hong was glad at first thinking he was just leaving. Thus, he just stood there, but he watched closely and when Yun Tian arced back to head toward Chen Long again he immediately leapt forward and went after Yun Tian.
At first, Yun Tian thought his plan had worked and he would be able to kill Chen Long with Chu Hong being too slow to stop him, but when he sensed Chu Hong’s speed he couldn’t help but curse. His speed was just as fast as his own and even slightly faster as he was quickly catching up.

Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.

The Flesh and Blood Dungeon
This is not the usual dungeon core story. I did not originally plan to make it humorous, but, well, you'll see. This fiction will not turn into a story about a bunch of adventurers who enter a giant boars anus looking for treasure. No promises tho.
