He leapt down as fast as he could and the rhino barely had time to react when a flash happened. His blade flashed past the rhino’s neck with a swishing noise.

He imbued his attack with all he comprehended about killing intent and ferocity combined so it drained a large amount of his qi. The results were evident though as the rhino’s head slid off and its body collapsed with a loud thump. Its body was much larger than any ordinary animal and it was much, much heavier. Evident from the large thump sound it created when it fell.

Even so, his attack contained so much speed, sharpness, and force that the rhino couldn’t even do anything before it died.

Shen Yu couldn’t help but marvel at his skills.

“Wow, you can deal with even a late stage demonic beast just like that.”

Yun Tian just laughed and said, “I did use up some qi though. Along with what I have used up so far I have used up a decent amount. I want to rest and recover it. Then we can head back towards the path. We should be far enough past the wolves now.”

Shen Yu agreed saying: “Yes, it is best to always be at your peak.”

With that Yun Tian stored away the body just like he did with all the other demonic beasts he had killed. As he did so, he couldn’t help but anticipate his next session of cultivation.

He had gotten many demonic cores so far, including even many mid stage ones. Besides those, he had several new spatial bags to look through. He had a large number of resources now to push him farther in his cultivation by a good amount.

Especially the late stage demonic core. He couldn't wait to see how much qi it contained.

He immediately put these thoughts away though, as he had to focus on the present.

He climbed up into a tree some distance away from where he killed the rhino.

Then, he let Shen Yu down onto a branch and said, "Just give me a little bit, I won't be long."

Shen Yu just replied, "Okay," and Yun Tian proceeded to sit down and start recovering his qi.

Shen Yu didn't start cultivating since he wouldn't be long. Also, she could look out for threats while he was recovering his qi.

Although she knew Yun Tian was paying attention to their surroundings even while recovering his qi, she still wanted to do so.

It only took him around three minutes to recover his qi and he stood up once again with a mile on his face saying: "Okay, you ready to go meet up with Bolin and the others again?"

Shen Yu also had a smile on her face, but in her heart she was only dreading what would come next. They would soon be going back to the Yun clan. She didn’t know what might happen there.

She didn’t say any of this though and instead she just said, “Yeah let’s go. I’m sure they won’t just be in the open on the path. We should make it to the path and travel down it openly. They are probably close to the other end by the entrance to Nanyuan town.”

Yun Tian nodded and said “My thoughts are the same as yours.”

With that he picked her up and they travelled back towards the path between the two towns. With Yun Tian’s speed it didn’t take long before they reached the path even with him killing a demonic beast or two.

Once they reached the path, he started to move down it towards Nanyuan at a slower pace. He even switched to using the fluid footwork skill even though it was slower. He still moved fast though with how great his strength and comprehension of the skill had risen.

The Chen clan members had been using both it and what seemed like an improved version of it. He paid great attention to them using it so he could learn from them. In turn he benefited greatly and his comprehension of the skill had risen to grasping spirit.

As he used the skill, he was basically like a droplet of water flowing down the path.

The reason he did this was so that he could pay greater attention to everything around the path, while also making it easier for Bolin to spot him. By using fleeting steps or the crane flight skill it would be harder for him to pay attention to the surroundings and for the wolves to spot him.

Like the two of them had thought, they didn’t run into the group of wolves immediately. They travelled down the path talking about random things, just passing the time.

When they got close to Nanyuan town though, Yun Tian sensed something on the side of the path. Looking towards it he spotted a demonic beast realm wolf.

He didn’t recognize it immediately, but soon enough he realized it was Yun Zan by the piece of its ear that was missing. The wolf also noticed Yun Tian slightly after Yun Tian noticed Yun Zan. Once Yun Zan realized who he was the wolf darted out of the trees towards him.

Yun Tian had stopped at this point and with a surprised expression he said, “Yun Zan you seem to have grown much stronger.”

The wolf just ran over and he let Shen Yu down. It ran closer and stopped in front of them. Shen Yu pet the wolf while he wagged his tail.

Since it was just the one wolf Yun Tian asked, “Yun Zan where are Bolin and the rest?”

Hearing his question the wolf looked at Yun Tian and then motioned to the forest behind him. From his gaze, Yun Tian could tell that wolf’s intelligence had greatly increased upon its breakthrough to the demonic beast realm just like Bolin had.

He wondered how he had broken through, but he still had some guesses in mind.

At his question, the wolf turned around and looked like it was asking for them to follow. Yun Tian obliged by picking up Shen Yu and following behind it.
