《PERCEPTION (A New Begining)》103. Kateri

My ears ring but I ignore it. I have to own up to what I just did. Turning my head I look towards the origin of the explosion, but there isn't an unrecognizable corps but a half-naked woman. I can see most of the skin on her body and not a square inch of it is harmed. Her body is covered in black scorch marks but it's clear that the skin under them is fine, she proceeds to wipe them off one by one revealing the smooth skin underneath which confirms it.
"What the fuck is she?" I should just be glad she's here, he won't stand a chance of getting through her. Judging by the look on his face, he knows it too. Ha, and I thought I was sacrificing her.
"Hmm, so you are tough. But even tough people have weak spots -- Jumper, blade!"
He just shot her with a fucking rocket launcher and now he thinks he'll hurt her with a knife?
He started limping towards her but she didn't wait for him to reach her. She walked towards him in a calm manner stopping just before him.
How can he still move like that?!
She had reached from him and despite his injures he slipped her grab. This must-have frustrated her because she started swinging at him, but none of her blows connected. He was holding the knife in the hand with a hole in it as if he didn't even know it was there. Blood continued to drip from his arm and leg where I had stabbed him. After slipping a few of her blows, and closing the distance on her even more than it was, he shoved the knife into her eye.
Cling! A small sharp looking piece of metal hit the floor near her feet. "Fuck, I don't have time for this shit!" He cursed as he stepped back and out of her reach, his injured leg almost giving out. "Jumper, Jump 'er now!"
It happened so fast that I doubt she had time to react. The teleporter that I had met on the roof, that guy, he's the most dangerous part about that man. In the blink of an eye, Carnie's mom vanished along with the teleporter.

"No..."
Kateri
"I'm telling ya, mom, you'll love her! She's strong and tough, just like you! She was nice to me when I first got here and she has always had my back since then. She's into this guy, his name is Tom. I don't know what she sees in him -- I mean he's got all these scars which kinda give him that sexy-dangerous look, and recently his arms have gotten so big, and his veins do this lightning-looking thing on his biceps!"
"It sounds like you like him, a lot."
"Wha-I mean, he's cool, that's about it. Red has already claimed him so I'm not into him like that!"
"I'm glad you had friends here, I'm sorry I couldn't find you sooner."
"I already told you, mom! It's my fault for going off without you, you didn't do anything wrong." Don't cry again, don't cry again! "How did you find me anyway?"
"I never gave up."
Fuck I think I'm going to cry!!! "Um, (sniffle), we're almost to them, once we meet up we can leave this place, forever!"
"Carnie!"
Sliding to a stop with my bare feet I scan our surroundings. There are no sudden or unusual sents.
"Kateri, what's wrong?"
"Did you hear that mom?"
"No, but you know my hearing isn't as good as yours."
That voice, it sounded familiar.
"Carnie, this is Jason."
"Why do you sound like your all around me?"
"That's because I'm using my ability, it's telepathy. Don't worry about that for now, listen, Red is hurt."
"What do you mean 'she's hurt', how bad is it, where is she, when did this happen?"
"I don't have time to explain, Tom says it's bad, and that she needs one of Veronica's viles, or else she might not make it!"
"THEN GIVE HER ONE!"
"The problem is I'm nowhere near them so we need your speed to get the vile from us and to her."
"FUCK! Mom, just follow this hall, Red's scent leads that way and she's hurt real bad! I have to go get something the help her, I'll be back as soon as possible!" Dammit Red, how did you get hurt! Is that what that explosion was? I thought that was just you tearing up the place. "Jason, where... How do I know where you are?" I take off running in direction and down halls I know I've never been in, yet it's as if I had walked them recently.

"It's part of my ability, now just hurry over here, Tom is fighting someone as we speak, he's the one who hurt Red."
"They're still fighting him! Then I have to go help!"
"No, even if you beat the guy it won't save Red, she's already been hurt. I'm not sure of all the details, but I know Tom is extremely worried about her, it can't be good. The best choice is to get the vile."
"FINE! My mom should be able to take care of whoever it is." Red is tough, but my mom's tougher, no one has ever been able to hurt her! I've got to give this everything I've got! I dropped my body lower to the ground and increased my speed. At this speed, I wasn't able to make any turns in the halls so I had to run on the walls in order to change directions.
"You really are incredibly fast Carnie, I can already see you."
"Just have the fucking vile ready, I'm not stopping! Hold it out!"
I approached them at slightly less than my top speed, snatching the vile out of Veronica's hand and slamming into a wall behind them feet first. Even with the walls being reinforced, the wall caved in slightly and had visible cracks from my impact with it. I sprang off the wall and shot in the direction I had come from. While running I noticed and attribute of the vile out of the corner of my eye, "Jason! Why is it red?"
"It's one of Veronica's stronger solutions, it should heal Red no matter how bad her injuries are."
"Really, because it just looks like blood to me! If this doesn't work I swear I'll eat that bi-"
Jason cut me off, "That's because it is, Veronica's blood. I told her not to but she cut herself anyway to get that for you so you better appreciate it! It will work, there's no doubt about that, just pour it in her mouth and it will do the rest."
I can see them... I can see him!
Standing over Tom was a man, the intruder that we saw on the Wardens cameras. Tom was on his knees, held up by his throat. Somehow that motherfucker noticed me even though I was moving at my top speed, no one other than Tom should be able to notice me faster than I can hit them at this speed.
It was impressive but it didn't amount to much, my feet slammed into him anyways. Should have a few broken ribs at the very least considering how hard I just drop-kicked him. I'll finish him in a second but first I have to...
"Damn."
Tom's body was covered in recent, and serious injuries. His neck was black and blue while bleeding a little, he had multiple bullet wounds, and his arm had a hole in it but the worst injury was the knife in his stomach. The amount of blood pouring out of it was twice as many of his other wounds. Seeing him in such a state cause me to hesitate for a second.
He was somehow still alive, "huuuauuu..." He tried to speak but I couldn't understand him.
"I'm sorry Tom, but I'm giving this to Red. She'll miss you but she'll be alive." I opened Red's mouth and poured the vile into it. Her burns began to disappear instantly and I took a deep sigh of relief. While I did I heard a very faint voice.
"Tha...nk... you."
Looking at Tom I saw him smiling, his teeth stained red by his own blood.
