Why is nature killing them?
What have they done?
Did they offend nature for them to be slaughtered!?
It was running on everyone's mind as they were busy defending and fighting for themselves...
Although still confuse why nature kills one of their own, their survival instinct is at its highest, warning them to prepare for battle for survival.
"Damn it! Sound the emergency alarm!"
The remaining 5 elders quickly ran towards the location of the hidden and not hidden emergency alarm buttons to notify their allied tribe that they are in danger as they avoided and cut the roots on their way.
They are called 'elders' who are a bit more special than most, which explains why they can hold against the deadly and poisonous roots. So they should at least be able to stay alive for some time.
"What...?"
"Something is wrong."
"It doesn't work! It doesn't work—ack!"
The elder birds were confused as the trigger buttons they were trying to activate don't work.
"No way... This was planned...?"
One of the elders drops on his knees as he looks at everyone getting slaughtered. He just realizes this fact.
"It was planned... Someone... did this."
Back on Hugh's side.
"Ahahahah!"
He was laughing like a maniac.
"Ha! Hahaha!"
However, his laugh sends a shiver down his family's spine. It was a very chilly laugh. The second time they ever heard him laugh like that. The second time, because the first was after taking away the ring in his possession and is given by his lion father.
"Father! Mother! Nature is trying to murder us!"
One bird shouted in panic. They have nowhere to run, who would not panic?
Hugh's family feels chaotic as they are all pale from the sudden attack and the laughing lion mutant child.
"This is fun! Very fun!"
Crack.
The token made silent noise as it breaks.
"I shall now begin, as promised."
Wooong!
The prison cell shook and made a sound, making Hugh's family panic as they run towards his room. However, they are far too late as Hugh returned to his original size, destroying his family home, and effortlessly landed on the ground.
"Aah... so this is what it feels unrestricted."
Hugh elegantly stretches out his body and his coffee-colored mane sway with his every move.
The birds who saw Hugh Ibrahim, the lion mutant, out without any restriction, began to shudder in fear. Fear for the higher being.
"H-how! How did you get out!?"
His grandfather, who was in bird form and is flying, shouted in a shocked voice, not caring that everyone else in the back was busy fighting for their life, yet helpless against the roots.

The roots are moving too fast and there are too many of them.
Even if the birds are fighters, they are only suitable for short-range, unlike the roots who are long-range attackers. In addition, it has a deadly poison, making them harder to defeat.
Not to mention, the roots do not die even if they cut them. They have to first find the one controlling it.
And with the dome covering their tribe, it was impossible to escape!
The outcome was already the obvious.
'Everyone will be annihilated, as planned.'
Satisfied, Hugh nodded to himself.
"Why are you not answering!?"
"Disgusting mutant! Come here! You should protect us!"
The ones shouting this time were Hugh's uncles and aunt.
His mother's siblings, that did not even care for her and made her life harder as she bears him in her stomach, in other words.
'I shall thank Reece for giving me this lovely opportunity of punishing them with my own.'
This family shall be handled by him as they die from his hands.
He had this already requested to Reece in advance, and then the latter simply just agreed without having much reaction.
Lion Mutant Hugh tilted his head, as he mockingly said.
"Hmm? Who are you again?"
The birds flinch at his words asking who they are when the mutant obviously knows. It sounds so innocent whereas making it scarier.
"Ah, um... I have been visited by too many, I do not remember who is who now. Pardon my senile memory."
His voice was full of joy despite his pitiful gaze toward his very lovely family.
The children of their family are currently not with them as they have their own classes. They are probably on the other side of the tribe.
Also, Hugh already told Reece to kill them for him as Hugh does not want to kill the innocent children who did nothing but make fun of him. They at least refrain from calling him disgusting or says anything about his mother.
They are simply just kids that bully other kids because they don't like him.
That being the case, Hugh does not want them to die in his hands.
"Shall we start? Hmm?"
The lion mutant then launches toward the birds clinging with each other.
"Damn!"
One deep green bird shouted as he transformed back into his original form. It was the animal's way of saying to fight with his life on the line.
"Mom! Dad! Escape now while we fight!"
Hugh sees both his grandparents escaping while their four children, the green bird, the orange bird, and two brown birds stayed to fight him in their original form.

Though they are giants, compare to the huge body of the Lion Mutant Hugh, they look like flies in comparison.
"Fight? Are you joking right now, uncle?"
Everyone is already aware that Hugh is the strongest here, despite being the youngest. After all, he is someone with two blood, making them stronger than most.
"Heh. How fun."
Hugh chuckles as he continues.
"Then show me, uncle. How you are going to defeat me with your puny strengths and abilities."
'Fuck! I know! I know, okay!?'
The green bird scream at his mind before flying up while also avoiding the roots, that is oddly not attacking only them, before diving to where Hugh is, who did not even move an inch as Hugh waited for them to attack.
Unfortunately, the green bird could barely touch Hugh on his lion form.
'Fighting without using your head is suicidal. Especially if your opponent is a higher being.'
The green bird then shouted.
"I'll hold him! You three, kill him then!"
Hugh wanted to laugh and mock them but barely stopped himself.
'Shit. Shit. SHIT!'
The green bird, Jade, was cursing nonstop on his mind.
He was the smartest out of the four fighting with Hugh right now, which is why he is the one initiating the fight or the other three would simply run away, leaving their parents and everyone else behind to be slaughtered.
It was the type of person they are.
'I will trap him with my ability.'
His support type ability, 'trap,' can at least restrict a higher being for a certain amount of time but could not completely 'trap' them as the name suggest. Nevertheless, it was still good enough to use as of the moment as he has no other ability that is helpful enough.
On the other hand, his three other siblings all have offensive abilities.
The orange bird, Ran, has a 'bullet' ability.
The male brown bird, Rowen, has a 'bomb' ability.
The female brown bird, Lana, has a 'needle' ability.
It was a good enough combination.
All are offensive, alas weak. Abilities are, after all, dependent on the holder. The stronger the holder is, the stronger the ability is.
This is also one reason why the weaker race does not usually use or depend on their ability and instead, it trains their raw strength and power more than their abilities as it could not be improved.
This, if Jade only has enough time, could have a 50 percent chance of defeating Hugh, who is still inexperienced when it comes to fighting. However, now they only have hardly 15 percent of defeating Hugh.
If the green bird is being honest without losing to his pride, their real chances of success are less than 5 percent. Actually, it was non-existent.
'At least let my parents and the children have enough time to escape!'
Jade only cares about his parents and the children of their family and is willing to sacrifice himself and his sibling.
Hugh watched the four with a blank expression but is overjoyed inside.
'He... Hehehe... Hehe, they are too desperate! What funny faces they make as they are too stupid to defeat me at my weakest.'
He was still weak, despite regaining his full might. We could not deny that as he was someone who spent his life in prison.
The green bird must have been done creating a helpless plan as it began to get ready to fight again.
It now was holding two stone spears. Hugh could see that Jade was using his ability on the spear.
'I am very glad my older brother has already warned and told me about their ability.'
Azure hates that all his efforts will go to waste. And if Hugh fails to escape, Azure will surely rage and be upset. Hugh does not want that, which is why he did not let his guard down the entire time.
As the green bird was quite close to Hugh, the lion mutant waited until the green bird gets closer to catch it.
Hugh jumps and stretched out his hand as he effortlessly catches the green bird's head and quickly snapping it, killing the bird. It died pretty quickly, terrifying the other three that were just flying around and have yet to attack as they were too scared.
"Jade!!"
The female brown bird, Lana, screamed in horror. Her older brother just died from the hand of their nephew!
"No! Dammit!"
"I'm scared! I don't want to die! I don't want to die!"
Ran, the orange bird, looks helplessly at Jade's dead body pinned down on the ground by Hugh's paw. While the male brown bird began whipping like a child screaming he doesn't want to die yet.
Meanwhile. The lion mutant looks down at his hand and his uncle's dead body.
'I thought it was scary...'
He thought it was scary to kill. However, the feeling he is feeling right now. He was not scared, but rather, it was pleasurable.
