Koranum and Carthus were both fuming at this point. Before either could scream however, Jacob asked Carthus, “Do you happen to have a Pheonix stock? Some slaves as well if you have them? I would like to browse.” Koranum looked to Hethara, “Can you love him truly after what you did and what he just said?”
“I can, and do, because I know what he will do, and why he does it.” Jacob remained focused on Carthus, whose face was now also a mixture or rage and confusion. Carthus stood up and with one hand on the table fingers spread, raised his other hand, and snapped his finger’s.
The world moved around them and suddenly the shelves and warehouse that had been there, but a moment prior were gone. Replaced by cages filled with many animal species. Off to the right and down the hall he saw a sign directing towards the, “Slave housing area.”
“I am an…adaptable god. I have survived worse things than this. It is best to look on the bright side.” Carthus said with a somewhat forced smile. Jacob turned to Hethara and looked into her eyes for a long moment with a smile before leaning down to give her a hug.
Said hug turned a little more intimate as he used his right hand to hold the right side of her neck and kiss the left, while using his left hand to grope her ass firmly. He whispered into her right ear, “Let us have a real date. Let us say Saturday?” “That sounds wonderful.” She said, and as he turned back, he saw a genuine smile upon her face. A face that said, I made a hard choice but in the end I chose right.
Jacob removed the bag of holding from his waist. He began tossing bags of large gold coins from the bag toward his friends telling them, “Find people that need help. Each of those bags has 50 large gold pieces.” The rest of the BattleSmith’s gave no objections, for they realized what he intended. Garnering even greater respect for him, as a good man.

Carthus summoned one of the slave dealer he employed to guide the intrepid band of heroes to the slave area while he personally saw to Jacob. “So, a pheonix was it? May I ask why?” Jacob smiled before responding. “That’s a secret. Take off a percentage of the bird’s price and I’ll tell you.”
Carthus smiled, “I’m both angry with you and at the same time so proud. Fine If the information is worth it, I will do as you ask.” “Its for an experiment. I want to see if I can make a pact with the bird and obtain it for my class without the need for it to die.” Carthus was silent for a moment before responding, “If it works, I will reduce the price.” “Fair.”
“On the topic of your class…” “You want to learn the secrets I have and will learn about this class.” Carthus looked genuinely shocked, “I had not thought of a continuing agreement, but I am not opposed to it.” Carthus stopped in front of a large cage. There was a bright flash of light as the pheonix flapped its wings projecting a cone of flames, though they did not pass the bars of its cage.
Upon a closer inspection Jacob saw small glowing runes that ran along the entirety of the cages frame. He suspected that they were fire dampening wards. He felt something within him turn on like a switch, and suddenly his mid was flooded by a thousand different voices. His nose began to bleed, as he fell to his knees.
He knew that these were the voices of all the animals in the cages around him, he felt sorry for them, but he was not here for them. Jacob honed his mind, bending this new ability to his will focusing it onto the pheonix before him. The voiced receded and he was able to stand once more. It was now that he could hear what Carthus was saying, “Are you alright? Oh your…Let me…”

Carthus said with great concern in his voice as he began to dab at Jacob’s face with a golden handkerchief. When he was done, he simply handed the cloth to him, telling him, “Keep it as a gift. What happened, something to do with your class?”
“Yes, I was overwhelmed for a moment by all the voices of the animals here. I have fixed the issue.” Carthus put his hands together before saying, “With what you have given me so far, I can offer 20% off. 10% if the experiment does not work.” Jacob simply nodded.
