《Totem Master: A Spiritual Adventure》Love, and Tears

Athes bore witness to Jacobs life in its whole and unfiltered state. He witnessed every moment of his life. From his days growing up under a dome, beneath the scorched sky.
His anger at childhood bullies. His grief at the lose of his mother and not long later his father.
Athes bore witness to a world destroyed by men. Normally he would find a blackened sky a comfort, but through his eyes through him he felt all those emotions he had so little experience with come flooding in.
He saw the day that Jacob arrived here. He saw the dome that stood high above his head, the artificial sun making its way across the sky.
He felt the fear and anxiety as he was thrust into this world froth with danger. He felt the warmth and comfort of the great mother bear. And he felt the love he felt for Hethara.
It was all too much so he pushed it away. He mind could not process what he was seeing. His still heart could not hold the flood pouring into him from Jacob. So, he rejected it.
Jacob felt Athes pulling back, he felt his resistance to all that he was experiencing, Love, Lose, Anger, Grief. These foreign emotions flooded the stagnant heart of Athes.
"Open your heart to me, and experience what the world can be. I will show you everything.”
Athes after a moment’s hesitation, Athes opened the gates of his cold heart letting in the flood.
Athes’ eyes grew distant, as tears of crimson flowed down his cheeks. The same became of Jacob, crimson streams flowed from his eyes.
Back upon the world, the children of Night Father wept. No matter where they were. No matter how black of heart they were, every vampire on the planet began crying tears of crimson.

They felt what Athes felt. They saw as he saw, their hearts eternally open to him were flooded by Jacob’s emotions through Athes. Their mind too were flooded by his memories.
Even those black hearts who could strike down entire villages for the fun of it felt weak at the horrors playing out before them. Weapons that erased everything for miles.
Men responsible for the deaths of millions. None among them could claim their heart was so black as to be unaffected by what played out before their eyes.
So it was that in the face of this flood, they collapsed.
Jacob turned his head as he heard others begin to join them. Dozens of gods had been watching. They had come forth making their presence known, as they wanted to see for themselves what could move the cold heart of Athes such that he would shed tears.
Jacob felt them poking and prodding, trying to enter his mind, and so he let them in, and many of them to fell.
Many began muttering, seeming to be speaking to no one, but he knew they were speaking to their followers.
Jacob turned to Koranum he gazed deep into her eyes and she into his, then she fell to her knees.
Far across the sea and several years ago lived a witch alone in a forest. Rashen, (R, au, sh, n), rose at the dawn to tend to her plants. Being a woman of arcane means, she had managed to fashion herself a comfortable life here deep in the forest, and away from prying eyes. She stripped down from her nightly attire, with a flick of her wrist and a little bit of Prestidigitation her robes were clean, ready for that night.
She stepped into her shower adn began chaneling mana into the floor. As she did so the water began flowing. She had enchanted the shower head to heat or cool the water as she so decided. She reveled in her warm shower. Her long blond hair swept back as the water poured down on her from the water generation crystal serving as the water source for her shower.

She washed herself and stepped from the shower. Her naked for quickly covered as her bath robe flew from its rack to cover her. She stepped into her room and dressed.
That fateful day, early in the morning just after sunrise, she heard a commotion in the distance. Having prepared for unwanted visitors she invoked the wards she had placed in the forest around her humble abode.
To an outside observer it would have appeared as if the home simply vanished into thin air. When in fact it was hidden by advanced illusions and protected from invasion.
Rashen sat down upon her favorite chair, waving her hands over a still bason of water. Slowly an image resolved itself within the bowl. She saw a man of unnatural speed fleeing from a group of adventurers. The man raced throught the forest though oddly he avoided anywhere the sun shined through the tree cover, desperation painted across his face.
There were five in the party that hunted him.
Two who flew, one appearing to be a wizard man, given by his distinctive purple spellcaster’s robe. The second appearing to be a ranger riding a flying broom.
The three upon the ground were a man without shame, a barbarian undoubtably based upon how little clothes he wore. Beside him raced a large cat that was slowly gaining on the vampire.
Through her scrying pool she saw the female druid that had become this feline in order to better pursue her prey. The final was a man in light armor, his face covered by a mask. To her eyes that mask glowed like the moon.
It would not be long now they we surely gaining ground upon the pale man. Upon a closed look Rashen realized why they pursued this man, for he was not a man. He was a vampire.
His golden iris' were unheard of for vampires as far as she knew. His short raven black hair flowed in the wind as he ran. 'He is a handsome one.' Rashen thought. For a brief moment, her consentration was desturbed. The image faded allowing her to see her own hazel eyes and her soft smile reflecting in the bowl. She shook her head and bring her mind back into focus and the image returned.
Rashen smile, “Athes be praised.” She had long needed several ingredients that came most conveniently from vampires. Rashen whispered unto the void as she raised up her arms. Her hands moved almost on their own she had used this spell so much in her younger years at the academy.

Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
