《Do The Wyrm》Chapter 1.6: New Songs and Sights

The system loves classifying shit. There isn't a day that goes by when some new type of mana isn't discovered by it, with only a slight difference between it and every other type of magic in the school of conjuration. It wasn't always like this back in the day, a few trillion years ago system time. Classes were divided into around two dozen main variants like Fighter, Wizard, Mage, and Priest. These classes could then either be specialized by themselves or fused with another class or skill. A few trillion years before that, there were only five classes that described everybody and didn't evolve into something new no matter what anybody did. There were a few class skills you could gain through levels, but for the most part power and strength had to be gained on your own. A few trillion years before that during the age of gods. When armies of divinities sprouted out of the ground and from the sky everyday. And armies of people were granted divine blessings, the system didn't exist. A person could do everything they could today. But they didn't have a way to measure themselves. Those were peaceful times. Too bad it didn't take long before the gods killed each other.
-The Mystology, A History of the Realms of Reality
A massive rhino stood before our intrepid Bard. It didn't feel fear at the creature standing before it, or that it could easlity crush it underneath its foot and end our entire story. No, it felt pride that it had managed to attract another monster that needed its guidance.
And it had went through the trouble of beating the emerald wyrm so that it hadn't had too! That showed a level of dedication and commitment that you didn't find anywhere else.
Look! It was even carrying it away! Finally, something knew its place in the food train, and it eagerly accepted it with no problems whatsoever. That eldritch wyrm mother and emerald wyrm could learn a thing or too.

Had our intrepid hero have the analyze skill, the fact that it was being carried away by a massive monstrous rhino would've been far more concerning.
But even if it held the skill, all it would've gotten was an entirely useless name.
Useless in the sense that it didn't have enough information to correctly make anything of the fact that it was being carried away by a Devourer Rhino.
Standing at seven feet tall, eleven feet long and four feet wide. This massive behemoth made its primary home underground, using its large horn to tear through the sold dirt and stone that surrounded its nests. It was a monster that upper bronze and lower copper adventurers fought with on the regular.
The Devourer Rhino was many things, numerous defined them perfectly, with no natural predators and a small diet of commonly found mineral and plants. Large populations of them could for quite easily if an adventurer's guild wasn't paying attention.
But what made these monsters special was what happened when they ate their first creature. Instead of gaining an experience milestone and leveling up their race class to its maximum or near maximum level. It instead would grant the Devouring Rhino an entire new race class.
This was what gave them such a higher than average danger level.
Considering the fact that weren't all that dangerous in the monster ecosystem. With their racial class not giving much in terms of stat boosts when it reaches a milestone level or free stats on other levels. Their extra racial class was the only thing that gave them an increased danger level thanks to their extra skills and stats, but ultimately, they were pretty weak.
Even the one carrying our dear friend wasn't that strong all things considered, it was a stronger member of the race with an evolved version of its class.

The Greater Devouring Rhino was no joke to face, but it still was pretty average all things considered.
Heck, the emerald wyrm that had went flying was more stunned than anything else. The monster underneath it wasn't as lucky.
Granted getting hit by a massive wyrm sent flying by an enraged rhino wasn't the best for a person's health. But that still didn't make much sense of why the eldritch wyrm mother had been turned into a bloody puddle.
That didn't matter to our emerald wyrm though, it had still been ethralled by our heroes master seduction techniques. And it was currently watching as the monster that had sent it flying had picked the tiny wyrm up, placed it on its back. And confidently turn back and head towards a cavern on the wall.
The emerald wyrm charged immediately, a massive guttural roar flowing from its mouth as it smashed straight through several smaller wyrms. Sending them flying as they were turned into mangled chunks of disgusting meat and scales.
Barely a minute had passed before it had taken off that it hit its first roadblock.
The size of a small child and with blood painting all its sides. Yet dozens of corpses littered the area around it.
Slithering and twitching as they slowly but surely tore through any creature remotely near them.
The emerald wyrm hadn't cared that much to be honest, bashing through several of the creatures.
Undead wyrms as those little messages called them.
And was just going to ignore the little monster when it was hit from behind.
Orb of Frothing Decay Hits You! -13
Death Swarmer Wyrm Attempted to Enthrall You!
It Failed!
You Have Become Enraged!
Oh this little wyrm was going to enjoy crushing the little vermin.
With a tiny flex it swung its tail and smashed directly into the little wyrm. its tail tore through the body, splititng it two in an instant. A spurt of gore spilled forth as the wyrm collapsed on the ground.
In a single instant, the entire group crumpled as one.
Just as the wyrm was getting ready to charge after our tiny hero. A notification hit it.
A notification that made it lose our hero forever.
JK. But its sure going to feel like forever.
