"What do you mean? Don't you know who I am? The second prince of this country is my father."
"As I said cool story kid. What do I care who your father is. In my eyes your whole ancestors combined are my juniors."
"B-but you are only a kid how can you claim to be my senior?"
"You will find out."
I grabbed his face with my hand and poured the seeds power into his head.
Various images of his life poured into me.
"Now I understand."
"What are you doing." Julius face showed discomfort.
"You wanted to see an elven female, so you and your friends decided to go to the elven kingdom."
"H-How do you know that?"
"It's quite simple son, I can extract memories from your soul."
"Y-you monster. You are no kid, what is this, body possession?"
"I was profound since birth. ELise knock him out."
A neck chop later the already injured Julius was unconscious.
"Master we struck rich. This guy is a big shot." Eyes sparkled and she couldn't hold still.
"Yes. We are most fortunate indeed my humble disciple. Get the dead guys stuff and pile the corpses."
"Yes, yes."
I took Julius's bag of holding and tried to use it. It didn't work.
"Maybe this is like in those novels where one imprints a mark with ones blood. So as long as he lives I can't access it."
Poof
"What did you say master?"
Two corpses where neatly placed in front of me.
"Unfortunately we can't use his bag of holding. You have to carry these corpses. Let's go to our hide out."
The hide out was a place deep in the Forrest where we hid the beast cores we obtained after two years of hunting.
"What about the prince boy?"
"Of course you need to carry all of them. I don't care how you do it, you can't expect that your master will do it for you."
"But I'am the older one."
"I told you already that I am an ancient being that has lived since primordial times."
"Now you are boasting. Ancient yes, I would understand but primordial?"
"Well you just need to see me as an expert and don't forget who the master is."
"Yes, yes."

Poof
"Hey." Julius revovered from his neck chop.
"Oh you are awake? Master does he need seconds?"
"No, he woke up just in the right time."
"Where are we?" Julius asked while he shook his head
"Kid,this old man wants to make you an offer."
"What offer?"
"You will become an outer sect disciple."
"What do you mean sect?"
"Oh no here he goes again."
"What does he mean little girl."
"For you its still senior sister." Elise snorted a face of disgust
"But I'm 16 years old aren't I your senior." He acted like he was wronged.
"Humph this is Elise the first student I took in. You will call her martial aunt."
"Hey who are you calling aunt." Elise puffed her cheeks.
"Prince boy,you will call me senior sister."
"Why should I join so called sect, you killed my friends." Julius gnashed his teeth.
"Ah you men Bould and Bob. Don't worry they are not actually dead. I can bring them back to life anytime."
"W-What? Do you mean necromancy? Or perhaps a resurrection spell?...Wait who am I kidding. You are only a monster kid at best, not some god."
"Boy" I sighed. I wanted him to know the difference between heaven and earth. It was important for him to understand who was boss. Him meeting me was life changing fortune. Look how Elise turned out under my guidance.
What excited me the most was this brat had a huge background. This would help me immensely taking over this kingdom.
"Do you know the expression 'to have eyes yet fail to realize mt.Tai'? Let this old man teach you."
"Elise, dig out the cores."
"Yes master."
Elise took out a huge bag from the hole she dug up. Going back in another was took out, then another. It took a while for to dig out all the bags.
"What are those."
"Oh this? These are just some beast cores."
"All of this? How many are there?"
"I don't know I have lost count long ago."
"Give me a G rank core."
"Yes, yes." Elise leisurely took out a beast core.
She handed it to me and said.
"Behold, my master will demonstrate his heaven defying power. Feel blessed for he is a dragon amongst men. His will surpasses the heavens.

"Ahem, well done my disciple." I stroked my non existent beard.
"Heh, surpasses the heavens. That I want to see."
I converted the beast core in to soul seeing glasses.
"H-How- How did you do it. It was a beast core before. This.."
Disbelief showed on this youth's face. It was like he saw the impossible.
"Put this on."
"What are these glasses. It better be nothing foul."
"Humph, If master wanted you dead you'd be a goner long ago."
"Thanks, now let me do the talking."
"Fine." Elise puffed her cheeks and snorted at the same time.
"Here put these on." I handed the soul seeing glasses to Julius.
"Fine. Whatever. I hope your words holds any truth. I am Julius van Velen, son of the second prince. My grandfather is the current king. If you can bring back my dead friends, I will call you master."
"Che, look at this bitch talking big words. He wants to become a disciple of my honorable master, yet he can't even act humble. Second prince your sister, I your Grandmother can't tolerate arrogant trash that don't know the depth of the sea and the height of the mountains."
Julius's mouth was agape.
"Even as member of the royal family I have not seen such arrogance in my entire life. You say your master can bring the people back from the dead? Now that is what I call, excuse my manner...bullshit."
"Hahahaha, you know prince boy. I was also killed and brought back to life. Since I know the outcome, I have the right to be arrogant. However boy you should forget becoming a disciple of my master you are not worthy."
"You brat, you-"
"Enough."
They both shut their mouths.
"ELise is right. I can't teach you directly Julius. You will become Elise's diciple. Any way the time is running, I don't want my father to wake up and look for me. Put the glasses on son and let me show you that I Thorus am a man of my words."
Julius put on the glasses and stood with his arms crossed.
"Then show me.If you can bring back my friends back to life, I am willing to become this little girls student."
"Alright, I see your resolve. Behold."
"Pah"
I spat out the two souls I stored in my body. The seeds power were coating the two souls preventing them to escape.
The moment the two souls appeared Julius's eyes widen in shock.
"B-Bould...B-Bob."
"You see prince boy? Now stop whining."
"Yes son, be obedient and this old man won't make it difficult for you."
I sucked the two souls back into my body.
"Oh my goddess, these were their soul. You really told me the truth." His mouth was wide agape covered by his shivering hands.
"Son, from now on forget your old life.Elise give me some cores."
"Which rank. How many?"
I cleared my throat and said.
"I don't want to be stingy, give me 40 G rank cores, 20 F rank cores and 10 E rank cores."
"Here they are." A pile of cores were in front of me.
I stretched out my hand and converted the cores into two bodies. They resembled the bald and burly man perfectly. I also added some minor adjustments to their bodies. Since they will listen to this Julius guy, they were pawns that couldn't be wasted.
"Oh my-"
"Hahaha, look son. I will bring them back to life. Call me supreme ancestor."
I spat out the two souls. Julius was able to see the whole process because he had still his glasses on.
Before I proceeded with reviving his friends I needed to wait. There it was, Julius mouth fell agape.
"Forbidden Technique, heaven defying revival. Fuse." I bit my lip and spat some blood on the bodies that were in state of fusion.
The blood spitting was not a necessary part in the fusion of soul and body but I just added it for some dramatic effect.
I also didn't add a seed like in Else's case. If every random trash were to get part of my powers it would be too sad to bear.
The fusion of the soul and body was much more smooth then it was with Else's case. My seeds power must have gotten stronger.
"Uh, my head."
"Who-"
"Bould? Bob?"
"Julius, huh, I'm alive?"
"Yes, son your ancestor brought you back to the living. Welcome" I smiled wryly.

The Eternal Vigil
The year is 2220, a time when governments and nation-states are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, all prominent parts of human society are now organizing around the commands of three great Artificial Intelligences, owned and operated by the world's largest corporation. World peace has been achieved, and the very word 'politics' has disappeared from people's lips. Religion has largely disappeared, replaced in some parts by worshipping of the great AIs, but mostly substituted by a devotion to material goods and faith in the market. There is now a general consensus that the best form of government has been found. No, it is not democracy, nor is it autocracy or oligarchy. Instead, it is technocracy - rule by the learned, the intelligent, and the skilled. And who are more learned, intelligent, and skilled than the great AIs? Exactly, no one. The AIs will correct some market failures once in a while, but shall otherwise let the market be free. After all, the freer the market, the freer the people. Some may question how society advanced to this stage, but that is all they will do - question. Because they will not find answers, for history is no longer taught anywhere. After all, it is not a practical subject. One cannot get a decently paying job with a history degree. Society doesn't have any time for people to idly ponder about the past. No, this is a practical society of practical people: engineers, doctors, lawyers, developers, managers, bankers, soldiers, and the such. My name is Aiden Scivit and I used to be one such practical man: minding my own business, doing my job, with the faith that hard work will always be rewarded by the market...and that politics and philosophy were things thought of by idly people who leech off society. But this all changed, and here is my story, my history. Just because the stories of ages long past have been erased, does not mean that a brand new beginning cannot be created. The story is already finished but I still need to do some editing so a chapter should be released each day for a month. It is a bit political, as you can probably tell by the introduction, so there is that (it will low-key read like a philosophy dump 10% of the time, so really it's like Atlas Shrugged but liberal and worse lol). Also, I actually wrote this in grade 10 as part of my MYP Personal Project, and recently touched up on it for online publication. Finally, if you find the writing style passable and are interested in my other works, check out the one in the link below. It is a fantasy set in the Ancient Greek world, and is completed and uploaded in full: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35099/the-oresteia-modernized

Its conditioning and training take an unexpected twist as it develops abilities and skills different from the others of its kind. -------------------- Surrounded by manufactured warriors who are incredibly powerful from day one, our MC will find himself lacking in innate skills and knowledge. Very much a weak to strong story. There is definitely action and adventure within, but expect a slow start that is focused on character growth, building tension, unraveling conspiracies, while learning about a new magical world. Some cooking and some daydreaming within. (I see you slice of life) --------- WIP art by Katie Z.
